Eets Chowdown
Quirky, original...not quite fun.
That's Eeets in a nutshell. It's a nice idea, with shades of Lemmings and any of those physics based puzzlers you care to mention.
Ultimately though it's not interesting enough and a tad to difficult to be regarded as an essential purchase.

Eets: Chowdown – Someone else who likes jiggies
Game: Eets: Chowdown
Price: 800 MSP / £6.80
Age Rating: 3+
Genre: Action puzzle game
Gameplay: The aim of the game is simple: get the weird little creature, Eets, across the level to the puzzle piece. The trick is that you can't control him directly and have to use the environment as well as various tools to manipulate him into going where you want.
This starts off fairly simple, using a 'prankster whale' to launch Eeets upwards or a 'ginseng factory' to make him angry and jump further. Even with these simple things it can get difficult. Firstly, to work out what to do and secondly to get the positioning of the manipulation objects just right, if you are out by the smallest fraction it's easy to miss your intended target and be left stumped.
Visuals and Sound: Eets may be static a lot of the time while you are figuring out puzzles but a least it's good to look at. The cartoony cel-shaded look, of Eets himself in particular is just lovely.
The music and sounds too add to the fun, without being overly intrusive and annoying.
Like it:
An interesting and original idea.
Nice graphics. Bright, bold and fun.
A game that requires actual thinking and working things out.
Loathe it:
Lots of trial and error, even when you seem to have found a solution.
Quickly gets frustrating.
Mini-game gets boring really fast.
Worth a purchase?: It pretty much unique on Xbox 360, so you have to give it some credit. It's not in the same league as Lemmings, perhaps the only thing similar in style, but until there's a 360 release of that this is the closest you will get.
Rating: 3/5
Available on: Xbox 360 and PC (slightly different version)
