Doom considers, for a moment, how much easier things could be for Night if she shared the whole tale of Light Yagami with her. Say what you will about the human, it's well-established how successful he was with the notebook. For nearly seven years he used it to change his world, murdering thousands in his wake. In the end he died the same as any of his victims, but it's undeniable how far his combined intelligence, ingenuity, and tenacity took him. Sharing a few of his techniques could certainly help Night with her own success story.
However...
Doomsday doesn't want to do that. That wouldn't be as much fun. Besides, this gives her another opportunity to offer the eye deal, which she does. "Hey you know there's still that option of giving me half your remaining lifespan in exchange for the Eyes. Then all you'd have to do is look at them - or even a picture of them - and you'd be able to knock them off right here in the comfort of your own room. Just, scribble scribble and then night night, ehehehehe."
Doom watches Night with her dramatic antics. She moves from scratching at her ears to pulling her silver pocket watch out of her vest pocket and twirling it around in circles. A fidgety creature, she always needs something for her hands to be doing.
But this is interesting. This story is starting to sound familiar. Perhaps she could be looking at another Light Yagami after all. Ehhh, more like a Light Yagami Lite, but the idea of it amuses her.
Grinning, she says, "Ohhh, now that's interesting. So there's an entire committee of humans who get to decide which non-humans are 'too dangerous' to them to exist any longer, eh? That's cold. Who decided humans were the only species that mattered? Humans? Tsk tsk. That's pretty telling, Night. Passing judgment on others. Who do you guys think you are? God? But you know, the idea of God was also created by humans, so what does that tell you?"
She suddenly stops twirling her pocket watch around, and goes to twisting the chain up and then letting it go so that it spins rapidly. She's focusing more on what she's saying, what Night's saying, and what her pocket watch is doing than what the snake is doing, at this point.
"You're not that much better than these other guys than you think you are, in my opinion, ehehehe. I wonder... what would I have to do to be deemed 'dangerous' enough to kill in your 'ethical' Committee's eyes, Night? I kill humans for sustenance. My entire race does, from a Realm none of your kind can conceive of much less have access to. We kill indiscriminately - most of the time. What would your Committee do against us if we were to suddenly decide that humans were too dangerous to exist?"
With one hand she catches the pocket watch while it's still spinning and loops it up and around so that it lands right back into her pocket. That done, she goes right back to grinning while she listens to whatever Night has to say.
Night shrugs, letting her arm drop from tracing the wall. “Well, that’s kind of the only thing we can do- I mean, see, I would use the notebook if I knew their names. You’re right about that, it’s much cleaner and easier than shooting everywhere, but we currently only know the names of some of their more infamous personnel. Which does give us a lead, yes, but not much of one.”
She sighs, flopping back into her chair a bit overdramatically. “Yes, but we only kill the SCPs that go through a whole process and eventually get evaluated by the Ethics Committee as ‘too dangerous to exist, even in containment.’ And only then do they get slated for termination. Yeah, that happens so rarely that whenever one does, it’s usually a big deal.” She straightens up in the chair, kicking off against the wall so it sends her spinning across the room. “The Global Occult Whoever, on the other hand, murders every and any anomaly they come across. Even if they’re helpful. In the Foundation, some of the helpful SCPs don’t even go into containment, really. Like… I guess you could say like me.”
Night knows full well that Doom wasn’t offended, and she cracks a smile as her chair slowly stops an inch before it hits the opposite wall, her snake now slithering away from whatever it was doing on her keyboard and crawling back onto her shoulder. “Well, neither, really. You haven’t done anything near dangerous enoughh to be considered for termination. And yes, while the P in SCP stands for Protect, I’m your containment. Not protection. Basically just meaning, the Foundation doesn’t want to bother finding a proper way to ‘contain’ you, so they’re just trusting that your link to me is enough.”
“…I’m pretty sure they don’t know that you can just.. kill me whenever."
