Welcome to Ky of Sonder's Eicenrell Archives!
Like the description says, this is a side blog for @kyofsonder that's specifically focused on my writing. While I enjoy mixing my writing work with more passive reblogging and not-fiction-related personal posts on my main blog, it can get frustrating not having a central archive of the stories/poems/writeblr things I've posted to Tumblr. To solve this problem and give readers a place to just easily rad what they want from my works, I've created this archive.
There's no requirement to follow my main blog in order to follow this one, and I couldn't enforce it if there was. It's also perfectly fine to address writeblr ask and tag games here, but know that if you ask anything that's not writing related I'll answer it on my main blog (or another side blog if I make others).
Content Notice:
All writing will have content warnings where applicable, if I ever forget or if a reader has a specific thing they would like included in these warnings (ex: I don't think birds need a warning, but someone with a phobia of them might prefer bracing themself before reading descriptions of them) please send an ask or message and I will fo my best to add it to my warnings in the future.
Commission Info:
I'm currently rebuilding my writing habits and haven't had time to do research on standard commission rates, but I'm open to taking a commission or two from those willing to discuss price in messages until proper rates and slots can be decided. Thank you for your patience, and please reach out if you are also willing to be patient about price negotiations.

Update:
There are other forms of heartbreak in these and my other WIPs, this is really just the quickest summary of the main three.
In one shelved WIP I've considered bringing back, the main character's heart is broken several times over and he eventually retreats to a place where even he can't find himself anymore. His heartbreak comes from homesickness for the home he's had to run away from, betrayal by family, loss of friends, loss of lovers, loss of family, and loss of people he never really got the chance to know. It's a big part of his character and his story. His main love interest is always on the edge of heartbreak, a firm refusal or sudden attack away from rejection or loss, but always believes in the main character and trusts that both the main character and himself will end up where they're supposed to be with their hearts as close to intact as possible.
In my Love as Indicated WIP, which I've been considering redoing from the ground up with a new format, heartbreak is featured at the whim of fate -- it's almost always accompanied by spite toward fate or a loss of faith in fate itself, and a questioning of the narrative the characters are almost aware they're being written into. It's almost always repaired in some way, but the things that were broken along the way may not follow suit.
Many of my non-novel/non-collection short stories also end up featuring heartbreak, but not many of them are romantically broken hearts -- those are saved for the novels, apparently. Most of the heartbreak in my short stories, and woven into my novels, involves forms of grief or fear that usually don't have much of anything to do with love in the romantic sense.
Anyone in your writing suffering from a broken heart? What caused it?
Thank you for this ask. It took me a long time to get to it, but I found it in my inbox and finally got to answering it.
Several characters in my WIPs have broken hearts, actually. Some have had a long time to get over it, others are just coming to terms with it.
Ian from Apricots loses one of his lovers right before his story starts, which led to him being dumped by another member of his polycule, and his heartbreak and grief over compounding loss is central to the novel.
Micah from To Be Honest lost a close friend and his brother years ago, when they both went missing in the woods. He's still processing that heartbreak when he meets the other main character of the novel. River, his co-main, is trying to recover from a much more recent heartbreak where his lover rejected him and he lost a part of himself.
Owen from A Place to Return is heartbroken after losing contact with the one person who truly understands him, and lets this heartbreak spiral in a way that's key to his side of the plot. Leo, the one he loses contact with, also becomes heartbroken after they stop being able to communicate. He handles it a lot better than Owen, and that contrast is a big part of their novel.
#sonder stories#eicenrell archive#eicenrell info#a place to return novel#apricots novel#to be honest novel#love as indicated wip#stray identities novel#it's not a lot of writing what you know#in the sense that little of my own heartbreak has been classically romantic#but it's also a lot of writing what you know#in the sense that I got to look at my own heartbreak and the heartbreak of others and the heartbreak I read in books and saw in movies#and yes my family and friends and headmates and partners past and present all count as others#and I got to make the connections between them#and understand that heartbreak isn't just one thing#and explore that and learn more about it by writing it#so now I write kind of a lot of it#intentionally and otherwise
