Nintendo Round-Up
Smash Ultimate: As everyone expected, the guy from Dragon Quest 11 made it in, and I”m assuming his shadows are the protags from most of the other DQ games. I’d be more excited if that wasn’t like... 7 more sword characters. E N O U G H. Should have put a slime in instead. Also it really shows you how DQ just has no vested interest in making a lady hero, which is bullshit. Also they ended the conference with Banjo and Kazooie being revealed as a new fighter. I’m happy for them. u v u
DQ11 Switch Port: Oooh, so the pixel areas are you traveling to different DQ worlds? That’s pretty cool.
Luigi’s Mansion 3: It looks cute, and I really like the plunger attachment. But I can’t help but think that while Gooigi is adorable and a nice co-op option, that Nintendo is low key knowingly venturing into more kink areas.
Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics: I Like the Dark Crystal and tactical RPGs, but this looks a little... bad. I hope it’s not, but movie games are usually... yeah.
Link’s Awakening: Fuck the naysayers, the art style is SO GOOD. I don’t... really understand the “make your own dungeon” mechanic. I thought it was going to be so other people can explore your dungeons, but you go in your own? And get treasure? Maybe it’ll grow on me.
Trials of Mana: Looks good! The other 3 games in the series got ported too, which is nice.
Witcher 3 Port
Three Houses: Okay, okay, okay. So there’s like... two timelines? One in the past where you’re teaching everyone and one in the present (?) where everyone is fighting? That’s way cooler than I was expecting. Still hate the dragon loli. Still hope you, as Byleth, can date the other characters in the present timeline.
Resident Evil 5 & 6 Port
No More Heroes 3: YAAAAY! I can’t wait to see what crazy shit is going to come out of this one!
Contra Rogue Corps: I don’t care about Contra, but I’m glad they don’t seem to be taking themselves too seriously.
Daemon x Machina: I still have no idea what this game is about. It looks like Xenoblade, but with more mechs and vehicles. Which could be good, but I still have my reservations.
Panzer Dragoon: The graphics are real nice. I think people were waiting for this, so I’m glad they got it.
Pokemon: Stop. Making. Hot. Characters. What the fuck.
Astral Chain: So the protags are being forced to forge a mental link of sorts with the invading chimeras, which in turn forces the chimera to work for them. That’s hella shady, but it looks like the game is going to address how shitty that is. I’m wondering if you’re going to end up looking for your sibling in the chimera realm a la “I know they’re still alive!” Wonder if they’re going to end up being the big bad after being stuck in the chimera realm.
Empire of Sin: It’s another top down shooter, but as it’s using a 40′s mobster aesthetic it’s infinitely superior.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Crypt of the Necrodancer:  Cadence of Hyrule
Mario and Sonic At the Olympic Games: Rail grinding like SA2B is honestly all I wanted from this game. Thank you for delivering, Sega and Nintendo.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Finally! I love the new take on the graphics: everything looks so cozy and pick-up-able. If they have a crafting system, that’s one step away from a cooking system SO I’M STILL HOLDING OUT HOPE THAT THERE IS ONE. Pole vaulting looks real neat and better than praying you get a bridge in an advantageous spot. I don’t know how the deserted island angle is going to play out, but I’m excited to see where it goes. Also “nookphone”? That sounds cool! I wonder what mechanics come with that.
Other Games:
Spyro 2
Hollow Knight Silksong
Ni no Kuni 2
Minecraft Dungeons
Elder Scrolls Blades
My Friend Pedro
Doom Eternal
The Sinking City
Wolfenstein Youngblood
Dead By Daylight 2 (?)
Alien Isolation
Crystal Chronicles Port
DQ Builders 2
Some Pixel Game Whose Logo Was Impossible To Read
Just Dance 2020
Catan
Super Lucky’s Tale 2
Dauntless
Super Mario Maker 2
Breath of the Wild Sequel: It looks hella creepy; I’m here for that! I wonder if you can play as Zelda this time around. I can’t imagine why not outside of the devs being boring.
Final Verdict:

Many hours into Breath of the Wild and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface (or rather, I know I have). I've just reached Zora's Domain. I’m really enjoying playing it so far, but it’s very different from other Zelda games and they’re not all good changes imo. Here's my thoughts on the game so far.
(if you post spoilers about anything that will come later on just know I will instantly block you)
Like:
The vastness of the world. Kind of a given, but it really is enormous, and I've only properly explored one province (beyond the Great Plateau). Twilight Princess' world felt big when that came out. It pales in comparison to this.
The freedom in how you play the game. You're given an objective, but it's entirely up to you how to go about it. You have to set your travel route, you have to choose your battle tactics. These changes in the game design really make you have to think. They've done that very well.
The survival aspect. It really feels like you're out in the wild, fending for yourself. Catching your own food, having to think about details like the weather and temperature, the dangers of the environment itself aside of the enemies in it. The world is so detailed and complex. I love just exploring around in it.
The way it really feels and "breathes" like a real world. Wild animals behaving like wild animals, many random characters wandering around with each their own purpose, creatures sleep at night, when it rains the human characters will look for shelter. There’s so much detail that makes it feel real.
The graphics. Watching a sunrise or sunset, the fogginess in rainy weather, the detail in textures, the look of the view in the distance. Such a huge upgrade from previous games.
Dislike:
The extreme straightforwardedness of the story. There's not even a hint of subtlety. It's: you wake up, you're the perfect most powerful warrior that everyone's been waiting for and here is the entirety of the world's history and here is the exact plot and here is your precise quest, go ahead and do the destiny thing. It's sad because it starts off so well, with a lot of mystery about where you woke up, what happened in the world while you were asleep, all the signs you see around you but can't place just yet, a mystery stranger who helps you, etc. And then it's all given to you in one go.
The anime-level of this game. I thought it was bad with Skyward Sword but they managed to increase it. Loli kawaii desu characters, the spoken cut scenes with the hero characters, the Zora prince striking animu poses (what happened to the Zora being an elegant race?). Same thing here being overly straightforward: no discovering Zora's Domain on your own, piecing the story together by talking to the various people, nah, just "This is how it is now please save us all."
How fucking quickly your weapons break and how fucking quickly you drown. Why the fuck would a bow break from shooting arrows anyway and why would a fit young male not be able to swim in a shallow fucking lake? He can climb up steep mountains like he's a gecko, but a tiny pool of water? DANGEROUS.
The focus on science and technology. Sheikah technology, ancient mecha robots controlled by pilots, science experiments. No more magical hearts to heal you, you have to specifically cook recipes and sleep in a bed in order to heal. It's like with Star Wars trying to make the Force scientific. It kills the magic.
Overall, the way it just... doesn't feel like a Zelda game. They took out so many of the typical Zelda elements that it feels bare. No piece of hearts, no green tunic, no Epona, Zelda in pants, no memorable theme songs. Kakariko is so Japanese I only know it's Kakariko because the game says so. Reaching Zora's Domain is the first time I'm hearing a recognizable tune. There is such a lack of music, it's mostly ambience. I feel like I'm playing an Elder Scrolls game with a hint of Zelda.
Maybe that sounds more negative than positive. I'm really enjoying the game, but as a Zelda game, it's just lacking something that all previous Zelda games I've played did have.

So enjoy~ (as always albums will be linked to bandcamp and youtube and remember everything is my opinion so don’t cry or rage)
MB Oji-san’s Top 5 Metal Albums of June 2017

5. Heretoir - The Circle

7. Elder - Reflections of a Floating World
8. Havukruunu – Kelle surut soi
9. Immolation - Atonement
10. Draugsól - Volaða Land
MB Oji-san’s Top/Ratings of Spring 2017 Anime (not including sequels and even if I did Tsuki ga Kirei is AOTY lmao)
1, Tsuki ga Kirei - I consider myself a romanticist, despite seeming to be a cold hearted ass that constantly listens to Metal and enjoying my own company, I too yearn for a pure love that Tsuki ga Kirei made me witness, yet being quite a cynic myself, I still believe that pure love can blossom in this cruel world, whether it be real or fiction... and who would have thought Tsuki ga Kirei managed to give me that with two simple plain looking Japanese middle school students, Tsuki ga Kirei was as pure as it can be, no random BS like you see in many current romance anime (heck Kimi no Na Wa had to use another plot concept to keep us rooting for the main couple) whilst Tsuki ga Kirei used many precious moments and many forms of conflicts to keep us rooting for Akane and Kotarou to stay with one another. It fascinates me that such a simple yet pretty looking (despite those outplace CG background characters) romance Anime can grab the attention of my heart despite me not being able to relate to the concept (tfw no gf ever) so thank you to studio feel. for allowing me to witness such a pure romance anime, for you have created my current Best Anime of 2017... 9/10
2. Sakura Quest - Well I’m glad at least I’ll be able to watch a show about cute adult Anime girls ACTUALLY working unlike CERTAIN ANIME New Game! during the 2017 Summer season 8.5/10
3. Alice to Zouroku - The character designs were nothing special yet the soundtrack and heart of this series about a grumpy old man nurturing a little girl with special powers into a woman voiced by Yukari Tamura was... WONDER DRIVE!!!! 8/10
4. Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? - The ending of this series left me in a bit of manly tears yet also with many questions, probably a sub-par adaption in the eyes of those who read the source material yet at least this adaption did its job by advertising the Light Novel 7.5/10
5. Seikaisuru Kado - Goddamn I didn’t want to agree with the critics but the few final episodes of this Sci-Fi series with so much potential drifted it away from said potential, I was kinda disappointed but Kado at least kept me entertained in its beginning stages... 7.5/10
6. Re:Creators - I know this show is gonna be 2 cours but damn does it take long to reach the action, Sawano and the plot itself is overrated but it’s still a good show 7.3/10
7. Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records - Up and down this adaption was going, sadly left with a incomplete rushed ending, I knew this would happen to an Anime based on a light novel/manga like this... well Rumia is an angel so it makes up with that 7/10
8. Renai Boukun - Kiss Note was a decent RomCom, nothing phenomenal but WUG did the OP and MONACA did the OST so, 7/10
9. Zero Kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho - meh loli witch and the beast, was a pretty good LN adaption but kinda overrated 7/10
10. Granblue Fantasy The Animation - More like GranWaifu Fantasy The Animation 7/10
11. Fukumenkei Noise - A decent shoujo manga adaption with GREAT MUSIC ALT.ROCK courtesy of Ayahi Takagaki and Saori Hayami! 6.8/10
12. Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka Gaiden: Sword Oratoria - Pretty sure the LN is better but the Anime adaption kinda sucks, well at least the Elf Yuri Vibes between Lefiya and Filvis were great 6.5/10
13. Saekano S2 - Megumi best girl but Utaha stole Aki’s first kiss so this show kinda sucks- well I didn’t expect much from a Harem Ecchi LN adaption so... 6.5/10
14. Hinako Note - Damn, the studio must’ve used all that fanservice in the show to make viewers unaware that this was just another basic moe slice of life Anime, well the OP and ED was great 6.5/10
15. Tsugumomo - Don’t have much to say, was just glad to hear Kiriha have Satania’s VA (Gabriel Dropout was my Anime of Winter 2017) 6.5/10
16. Frame Arms Girls - The F.A Girls were pretty cute and Aoi is pretty cute, too many panty shots but the Japanese audience seem to enjoy it, Base best girl 6.5/10
17. PriPri Chii-chan - Uh.. Momo Asakura and Toyosaki Aki ED, that’s all 6.3/10
18. Clockwork Planet - HOW DOES AN ADAPTION WITH A GIRL LIKE RyuZu AND A GOOD SOUNDTRACK END UP HAVING SUCKY ANIMATION AND PLOT?????? 6/10
19. Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism - Can’t believe people actually liked this generic harem ecchi LN adaption adding action elements so it wouldn’t completely suck, people are entitled to their own opinion and at least the few final episodes were quite brutal and interesting 6/10
20. Sin Nanatsu no Taizai - It’s a sin to watch this show but ay, hot and gay female Lucifir voiced by Kitamura Eri was cool... BOOBS 5.7/10
21. Sagrada Reset - Yui Makino sings the themes but... this show is kinda dead and boring, can’t believe David Production is gonna make this 24 episodes... I will still watch tho 5.5/10
22. Eromanga Sensei - Anime is dying because of series like these, fanservice of 12 year old girls, saying they love dicks and love to be naked while playing piano... Sagiri was cute enough to convince me to continue to watch it but damn the Anime community and industry messed up if they love s**t like this Abomination Reborn/10
