Okay I finished Jihae’s route and his god damn stamps don’t count because I started from a common route save file. I have to do his entire. route. over. again. just to unlock his bonus content. FUCK.

Anyway wow his route was really underwhelming and honestly disappointing. Like Jiwoo’s route had it’s cringey moments considering how Jiwoo is hardcore into 50 shades of gray erotic fanfiction but at least he and Heejung had chemistry with each other. They were able to connect on an emotional level because of their abusive family circumstances but I didn’t feel like Jihae and Heejung connected at all. It just felt like one big shoujo manga from the beginning to the end. Maybe Jiwoo’s route set my expectations slightly too high cuz his route was really enjoyable so lel

I just got Jiwoo’s bad end and *stares out the sun* what the hell was that. That was soul crushing. Absolutely soul crushing. Like on one hand that’s what you call a good bad ending but on the other hand I DON’T NEED MY HEART ANYMORE.

Overall I found Jiwoo’s route to be really touching especially because it focuses on both him and Heejung breaking out of their abusive parents’ grasps and rebuilding their lives the way they want to. They both have incredibly similar backgrounds where they worked endlessly to please a mother who never even loved them and just watching the two of them support each other made me cry. A lot. I was not disappointed and I hope the other routes are as good ;;

It’s not like Cheritz doesn’t know how to write female characters like both Dandelion and Nameless have amazing and well written heroines and Soi and Shinbi are fantastic supporting characters who have their own strength and flaws so... I dunno why Mystic Messenger went crash diving in this department. I don’t know who the hell took two glances at Rika, Sarah, Glam, and Echo girl and thought “this is a good idea”. Rika is so lazily written and cartoonishly evil that you might as well give her blue skin. On the other hand, the Choi sisters and Echo girl did not have to exist to make Zen and Jumin’s routes work. Their routes could have focused on developing the overarching plot or their characters but instead their routes are stuck accommodating for Choi sisters/Echo girl and their cliche plot lines that look like they’ve been pulled out of badly written kdramas.

I FINISHED DANDELION. As expected of Cheritz this is a solid. ass. game. Also Heejung is a solid. ass. heroine. and anyone who hates her can personally fight me in a parking lot. My order of favourite boys ended up being Jieun > Jisoo > Jiwoo>>>>>>>>Jihae>>>>>>>>Jiyeon. Jihae and Jiyeon unfortunately had terrible routes but Jieun, Jisoo and Jiwoo made up for it 100%.

I’m so happy to have played all the Cheritz games. I played the games completely backasswards from Mystic Messenger > Nameless > Dandelion. My final verdict..... surprisingly ended up being Dandelion > Nameless > Mystic Messenger. I think I’m the only one who has this opinion since Dandelion is universally acknowledged as the worst Cheritz game rip. I did not expect myself to like Dandelion as much as I did but this game was fucking amazing. I understand why Nameless/MM is more popular since there’s no annoying stat grinding, both games have a cleaner and crisper presentation, better ost, a stronger variety of sub characters (this only applies to Nameless), and a stronger setting/atmosphere but idk... despite all the flaws Dandelion had, the writing/character development just completely sold me. Dandelion has BY FAR the best “true end” because Nameless’s true end is just plain weird, and Mystic Messenger’s true end is downright terrible. Nameless has a more well rounded cast compared to Dandelion, but none of the routes in Nameless (or Mystic Messenger) stuck with me the way Jieun/Jisoo/Jiwoo did. Jieun’s route alone was better than any route I’ve played in both Nameless and Mystic Messenger. The only Cheritz character that can rival my love for Jieun is Saeran and he doesn’t even have a route so WELP.
