Meet Espresso Woman! This Robot Master once worked as a barista and online influencer. When she went rouge, she started attacking the cafés that competed with the one she worked at! Aside from that, she's a really chill and mellow person! Kind of the exact opposite of espresso.
Design notes and concepts after the break ->
Espresso Woman was inspired by one of the unused Robot Master design contest submissions for Mega Man 8 shown in the credits, whom had a mug for a head! Initially Espresso Woman was just a fan-name for that design, but I ultimately decided that treating a random contest entry as an entire character felt pretty weird. Above are the ideas I explored for Espresso Woman, including the one her final design is based off of at bottom-right! I'd noticed that I'd never really seen a lady RM (official or otherwise) with the iconic Big Ole Cartoon Eyes you see on so many of the dude RM's-- I simply had to correct that. I'm still fond of the angery cup-cart at top-middle.
