'Starting to justify his £10m price tag' - Many West Brom fans react as key man shines again
After keeping two clean sheets in as many games, West Brom fans have heaped the plaudits upon goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who joined them for an initial £6.5m fee last summer.
The pivotal reason behind his improved displays, according to some supporters, is a change of tactics since Darren Moore was sacked from his role as manager.
It’s a factor which is seeing him prove his worth according to one fan, who claimed he had now justified the price tag West Brom paid Manchester United to sign the ‘keeper. Another individual went as far as calling him the best in the league in his position.
Since caretaker James Shan took charge, the club has won back to back games after previously going four matches without claiming a win.
Johnstone has played a key role in that and supporters have reacted to a video of him on Twitter making a save to praise the stopper.
Members of the Hawthorns faithful have said that Shan’s new system, which doesn’t involve playing out from the back, has meant he’s been able to improve on his actual goalkeeping. One fan even joked that he’d been previously asked to play as a playmaking sweeper.
Since joining the Baggies, he has been ever-present for the Midlands club, playing in all 38 league games to date and has begun to prove doubters wrong according to one individual.
Here’s what’s been said on Twitter.

Quality keeper, who has shone since the tactics changed. Long may it continue.

No, not playing out from the back has improved Sam.

He’s been far better since concentrating on being a goalkeeper rather than being asked to be a playmaking sweeper

'Too good for this league' - Many West Brom fans left in awe of 51-cap star
Supporters of West Brom have taken to Twitter to hail the performance of central defender Ahmed Hegazi, throwing superlatives the Egyptian’s way following a tweet he made.

The Hawthorns faithful haven’t had too much to shout about recently but bounced back to winning ways after three matches without a victory this week in what was their first game since Darren Moore’s departure.
Hegazi was one of the key men to make a difference in their 3-0 win over Swansea as the 28-year-old kept a clean sheet. It was a display that earned rave reviews as fans left comments for him on social media.
The 51-cap Egypt international was ever present for the Baggies in the Premier League last season and as such has since been labelled by one supporter as too good for the Championship. Similar plaudits were aimed at him, claiming he is the best centre-back at the club as fans were left drooling over his defensive efforts.
His initial tweet showed him blocking the ball to deny Connor Roberts, a challenge that was hailed by one specific Baggie, calling it an incredible stop. The ex-Fiorentina man’s display was lauded as brilliant, with another member of support fearing where they would be without him.
Albion’s defender has featured 31 times for them in the league this campaign, having scored one goal.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
Class again, too good for this league
