Trellis in back is the framework for the espaliered apple tree. I used bailing twine to hold the tree onto the trellis. In front, dusty miller, red coleus, and red bore kale in back. I the center is an itoh tree peony.

Day one. Found a good double forked tree at the regional market this morning. Carefully bent the two branches horizontally without breaking them. Tiny leader branch bent upright &tied with bailing twine to hold all branches in place. Bailing twine rots after a couple of years so it’s perfect for tying up apples. Doesn’t damage tree.
