ya girl is back on the art grind fueled by deepening 40k brainrot 👍 after almost 2 weeks effort I am proud to present my new oc (well, maybe not exactly new, she's been making the rounds thanks to my lovely friend and mutual @systembug) - 5-Caeral-VI aka Scaeralvi, a very special Pteraxii Skitarii from the lost forgeworld Gryphonne IV, who will hopefully play a big role in my fic-to-be for Rogue Trader.

Endymion has a small piece of golden plating that runs across the bridge of his nose. When asked he says it's simply there to accentuate the distinctive, slightly aquiline shape of his nose - considered beautiful in his home planet's culture, and thus of importance to nobility - but that's probably not the (whole) truth... could (also) have been used to conceal some sort of past injury from Emperor knows what... it is a mystery

scaeralvi oh scaeralvi. I don't know what it is that's got my brainrot for her become terminal. maybe cus I put so much of myself into her. maybe it's the parts of her life that I (thankfully) could never experience, par for the course of the grimdarkness of the far future. and yet I could never talk about the thoughts I have of her here for various reasons (unless...?) like with all of my other oc's. all you will get is little pieces to infer from through reblogs and ask/tag games.

I keep telling myself that I should play the game. maybe then I can put something coherent and presentable. but for now just imagine me grabbing her in my mouth and shaking her like dog toy. she's a poor sad thing who's been through so much yet at the same time still needs a lot of sense beaten into her.

I have two girlies who have no in-universe relation with each other as far as I know. I have drawn them but they need redesigns... but take a look at their tags on my blog if you're curious

Mevranor Alpha-Gamma-56 is just a lowly enginseer from Mars, who specialises in climbing and crawling into tight spaces that need repairs thanks to their highly modified body and limbs as well as some grabby mechadendrites. expertly locks in on their work and likes practicing fixing small devices especially toasters in her spare time, but doesn't like being observed. they tend to lurk in the quiet shadows of the forge temples. there is a part of her who wishes that, one day, she could go on an adventure offworld in search of archaeotech.

5-Caeral-VI, aka Scaeralvi is a pteraxii from the forgeworld Gryphonne IV, now serving in the retinue of a Rogue Trader who "adopted" her after the destruction of her homeworld. as much as she tries to hide it and play the part of literal killing machine (which she is very good at), the truth is she's an emotionally turbulent soul who struggles with self-worth and expressing her wants and needs, a big one being understanding and companionship. though it took a while for her to adapt to living amongst non-Mechanicus and open up, she is immensely loyal to her friends... sometimes to the point of being self-sacrificial, given the above.

i like to imagine that all 40k tumblr admech ocs are bestfriends/coworkers who barely tolerate eachother.

Endymion - flora and fauna

you’re friendly and a benevolent force to those who respect you and your domain, but a true force to be reckoned with to those who disrespect or threaten the balance of the natural world. the forest is nothing to fear for those who take care of it, but it isn’t uncommon for people to go missing with only their faces outlined in the bark on a tree.

makes me think of both how I've compared his position to the two animal-centric professions his namesake held - a shepherd to his subjects and a hunter to his enemies. as well as how his home planet is a natural paradise.

you’re known for your self-discipline and rigidity. although you may be perceived as cold and intimidating by those who don’t directly worship you, you’re actually quite fair and polite. your followers pray to you for a safe winter and peaceful death.

surprising, considering my usual associating her with fire. but the fact that she hailed from a place that's cold in both the literal and figurative sense/in both climate and culture... checks out beautifully.

9. What was their Darkest Hour? How does it affect them today?

Grim Portents - The mysterious tome that was discovered in your family library exacted a terrible toll on your mind.

It happened when Endy was on the verge of entering his teenage years. He had always been a bookish sort - a combination of his eagerness to learn and his loneliness - who would spend many hours on many days in the library of the palace complex he and his family called home. It was on one of these days that he came across a strange book he had never seen before, looking out of place amidst the rest. As for what was inside when he opened it? ... Well, it was something so profound that human minds, let alone young one like his, weren't meant to take, and so horrifying that he wouldn't even wish his worst enemy to hear it too. Though he didn't know it then, the Warp had clawed at his soul and changed him: curiosity traded for caution, bright eyes and liveliness replaced with silence and a haunted, empty look. And then there were the nightmares, so distorted yet vivid that many a night he'd wake up out of breath with head pounding. He could forget about them, until something in his waking life happens days, weeks, months afterwards, with uncanny similarities to the events of those dark dreams. Perhaps the only good thing to come out of the experience was the reinforcement of his belief to treat his fellow humans with kindness and mercy. The light in the overwhelming darkness that he clung to, even when it caused him conflict with his family and culture as he grew into a teen, and then an adult. As the years went by he had learned to keep his mind from wandering back into the torment, and regained some of his former curiosity and talkativeness - though he is still highly secretive about himself and reluctant to ask personal questions to those close to him, despite all desires to get closer, lest they do the same and end up knowing what he knew. And, let us not forget, after the incident in the warrant chamber, he has to work extra hard to fight the daemon who took up residence in his head.

17. What are their strengths in combat? What are their weaknesses?

While Endy is much more of a diplomat than a fighter, he is quite skilled with a sword, striking as much as dodging and parrying. Less directly he is observant of the enemy, and using this can effectively command his allies to engage and take them out swiftly. As for weaknesses, he is terrible at shooting with pistols... missed SO many shots during the first fights aboard the voidship.

22. Do they have any augmentations? Were these installed out of necessity, or as a cosmetic choice?

He has a small piece of golden plating running horizontally across his nose-bridge, one of the most recognisable parts of his appearance. A purely aesthetic choice that nicely accentuates the slight aquiline shape of his nose.
