heartbeat
Tumblr media
percy jackson x afab!reader
percy is like 22 in this 😋
warnings: SMUT!! fingering, cum eating?, swearing, cheating, drinking, jealousy, percy’s ur ex, a little angsty lemme know if i missed any!
notes: i was listening to heartbeat by childish gambino while building chb on mc and this came to my head so enjoy!
Tumblr media
the dim lights of the bar pulsed with the bassy rhythm of heartbeat by childish gambino. amidst the crowd of anonymous faces, a flash of familiar hair caught percy's eye. his heart stuttered, memories of passion and heartbreak rushing back. it was her - his ex, y/n. and she looked drop-dead gorgeous in that little black dress he'd bought her for valentine's day last year.
percy's eyes traced the curve of her neck, the swell of her breasts barely contained by the flimsy fabric. the skirt hugged her hips and thighs, legs that used to be wrapped around him as he thrust into her. his body responded immediately, cock twitching in his jeans as a wave of desire crashed over him. but then he saw the hand at the small of her back, the tall man leaning in close to whisper in her ear. her new boyfriend. the one who had replaced him.
y/n stepped up to the bar, crossing one leg over the other as she leaned forward to place her drink order. percy's eyes locked on the smooth expanse of thigh revealed by the slit in her skirt. his hands itched to reach out, caress that soft skin, feel her tremble beneath his touch. but he was frozen in place, all the while picturing that boyfriend's hands on her body instead of his own.
the song ended and a new one began, the tempo faster, more urgent. it matched the racing of percy's pulse as y/n turned, drink in hand, her gaze scanning the room. for one breathless moment their eyes met and he saw it - the flicker of longing, the ghost of their past love still simmering in her eyes. but then she glanced away, said something to her date, and turned to leave.
percy couldn't let her go, not without a final word, a last chance to stake his claim even if he couldn't act on it. he strode after them, caught up just as they reached the exit. "y/n," he called out. she froze, then slowly turned to face him.
"percy," she said coolly, though he could see the tension in her shoulders, the way her eyes couldn't quite meet his. "funny running into you here."
"can we talk?" he asked, hating the desperation in his voice but unable to stop it. "please?"
she hesitated, glanced at her boyfriend who was looking between them with a scowl. "i… i don't know if that's a good idea…"
"five minutes," percy pressed. "that's all i'm asking for." he reached out, took her hand in his. "please, y/n."
her fingers tightened around his for the briefest moment before she pulled away. "fine. five minutes. and then i have to go."
percy nodded, leading her back into the bar and towards a quieter corner. they sat across from each other at a table, the charged silence stretching between them as they tried to find the words.
"so… you look good," percy finally said, because anything else felt too heavy, too important.
y/n smiled faintly. "thanks. you too." her eyes flicked over him appreciatively and he felt his body respond yet again, straining against his zipper. "how have you been?"
"alright," he replied, though it was a lie. he'd been miserable without her, but he wasn't about to admit that now. "and you? things are going well with…" he couldn't bring himself to say the name.
she nodded. "yes. he's great." but there was no warmth in her tone, no conviction.
they fell into an awkward silence again and percy searched frantically for something to say, anything to keep this conversation going because he knew once it ended, it would be over for good. no more stolen glances, no more brief encounters. just memories.
"what are you thinking about?" y/n asked softly, leaning forward a bit. the question startled him.
"nothing," he lied.
"come on, percy. tell me." her eyes were imploring now, searching his face for answers he wasn't sure he had. "i can see it written all over you."
he sighed, knowing he couldn't hide from her any more than he could hide from himself. "i was just thinking… about us. about what we had."
she looked away then, lips pressed together. "don't do this," she whispered.
"why not?" he challenged, leaning closer. "it's true, isn't it? we had something special and you threw it away."
"because i needed more!" she burst out, turning back to him with fiery eyes. "you couldn't give me what i needed so i found it elsewhere."
the words stung but percy refused to back down. "and is that what he gives you? satisfaction?" he reached out, traced the line of her jaw with his fingertips. "because I remember a time when you were satisfied with me…"
y/n shuddered under his touch, her eyes darkening with remembered desire. "don't," she pleaded weakly even as she leaned into his hand. "we can't…"
"why not?" percy murmured, sliding his hand down to wrap around her throat. "no one has to know." his other hand found her thigh under the table, stroked along the silky skin as he pulled her closer.
y/n made a little mewling sound, thighs clenching together as his fingers slid higher. "percy," she gasped. "i… i can't…"
but she was already lifting her hips off the seat, giving him access to her core. he could feel the heat of her through the thin fabric of her panties and groaned low in his throat. "fuck y/n," he growled, rubbing her through the damp material. "you're already so wet for me."
"oh god," she whimpered, head falling back as he increased the pressure. her hands clenched on the tabletop, nails digging into the wood.
"you want this, don't you?" percy purred, lips brushing her ear. "you want me to touch you, taste you… make you scream my name." he nipped at her earlobe and she cried out, back arching.
"yes," she moaned, shameless now in her need. "please percy… please…"
he chuckled darkly, hand sliding under her skirt to push her panties aside. two fingers delved into her wet heat and she nearly screamed. "that's it baby," he crooned, pumping into her slowly. "let me hear you."
y/n's head thrashed from side to side as he fingered her deeply, his thumb rubbing tight circles around her clit. her inner muscles clenched greedily around his fingers, trying to draw him deeper. percy could feel her desperation mounting, see it in the flush of her skin, hear it in the sharp little gasps and whimpers falling from her lips.
he brought his mouth to her neck, biting and sucking at the sensitive flesh as he increased his pace. his fingers pumped hard and fast into her fluttering sheath, curling to hit that secret spot that made her wild. she was so close, embarrassingly so, he could tell by the way she was trembling under his hands, the little broken cries she was making.
"come on baby," percy urged gruffly in her ear. "let go for me… come all over my fingers like a good girl." he captured her lips in a searing kiss, swallowing her moans as he pushed her over the edge.
y/n came apart in his arms with a muffled scream, body convulsing as pleasure crashed through her. percy worked her through it, fingers never ceasing their movements until she was a limp, shuddering mess in his embrace.
when it was over, he withdrew his hand and brought his fingers to his mouth, sucking them clean with a groan of satisfaction. y/n watched him through heavy-lidded eyes, chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath.
"that was… wow," she whispered hoarsely.
percy grinned wolfishly at her. "i know, right? and that was just with my fingers." he winked suggestively and she laughed breathlessly.
"i don't think i can handle much more," she admitted, face still flushed. she started to pull away but percy held onto her wrist.
"what if i told you that was just an appetizer?" he raised an eyebrow at her invitingly. "we could head back to my place… or yours… and i could show you what else we've been missing."
y/n bit her lip indecisively but he could see the lust still smoldering in her gaze. she wanted him, needed him just as badly as he needed her. all she had to do was say yes…
"i can't," she said softly but with regret. she glanced away again. "it wouldn't be right."
percy's heart sank but he tried not to show it on his face. of course she wouldn't leave her boyfriend for him. not after everything that had happened between them. he'd known this was a stupid idea from the start.
"right," he said quietly, releasing her hand. "you're probably right." he stood abruptly, ready to end this before he humiliated himself any further.
"percy," y/n said, voice pleading as she reached for him again. but he stepped back out of range.
"no, it's okay. you have to do what's best for you." even if it destroyed him inside. "i'll see you around."
and with that he turned and walked away, leaving y/n alone at the table with her thoughts and the fading echoes of their passionate encounter.

keep that to yourself | luke castellan
song: keep that to yourself by tristan
synopsis: luke survives the battle of manhattan and returns to camp half blood. he sees you and apologizes for all the damage he's done.
a/n: not associated with my other exbf!luke one shot, just obsessed with writing exbf!luke rn lol. please listen to the song bc it actually broke me.
luke castellan was never mean to you. he was always the boy with the kind eyes and gentle smile. the boy who was the first camper you met at 16 when you stumbled into camp half blood, terrified and partly relieved that you'd finally found sanctuary after two years of fending for yourself.
he offered his bed to you when you walked into the hermes cabin, stating that nobody deserved to sleep on the hardwood floors in a sleeping bag on their first night at camp. it was unusual for the head counselor to give up the bed they earned for a new camper, but you didn't know that then. you didn't question why luke never offered it to any new campers who entered the cabin throughout the years.
luke castellan was never mean to you. he was always the boy who stole extra pieces of dessert at dinner because he knew you had a sweet tooth. he noticed that when it came to burning offerings, you'd always frown knowing that you'd have to save your dessert to pray to your parent, so he started stealing an extra slice of cake or a fruit platter or the corner piece of the brownies.
when he passed by your table, he'd slide the plate on your tray and offer a shy smile before walking away. the grateful look in your eye every time he did this was cemented in his brain. you looked at him with so much adoration in your eyes and luke promised himself that he would do everything in his power to keep you looking at him like that.
luke castellan was never mean to you. he was always the boy who spent too much time helping you train because once kronos started visiting his dreams, he knew he wouldn't always be there to protect you. he would stay in that secluded part of the woods with you until the sun disappeared from the sky.
he would push you to your limit and you'd give it your all until your bones ached and you collapsed in exhaustion in his arms. then, he would kiss your temple and tell you that you did so well and joke that you were going to surpass him as the best swordsman at camp soon enough. you'd end the night winding down, pointing out the constellations in the sky, until the ominous sounds of the creatures lurking would force the two of you to retire to your respective cabins. he'd bid you goodnight with a soft kiss to your lips and a promise that he'll be outside your cabin door, bright and early, ready to take on the world with you the next day.
luke castellan was never mean to you, until he was. the fireworks in the sky illuminated his face in an eerie way, fire and anger dancing in the brown of his eyes as he pointed his sword at percy. you screamed at him to stop, to drop his sword, and he scoffed at you, calling you a traitor for taking the side of a boy you'd only met a few days ago. he accused you of betraying him, of never loving him, because you turned your back on him.
his words still ring in your ears years later. and when he walked into camp half blood, terrified and partly relieved thinking that the worst was over, that kronos was gone and he managed to survive the battle of manhattan, all you could think of was how he spoke to you that night.
there was a pain in your chest when he walked in with annabeth and percy. there were new scars on his body, two new ones that joined the scar on his face that you used to kiss. he looked older, too, sunken eyes and a slight hunch to his back, but he still looked like luke. your luke.
when he saw you, there was a stutter in his step that had percy gripping his arm to keep him steady. when the younger boy realized what luke was looking at, he offered you a small, apologetic smile. you tried to return the gesture, but your lips formed a grimace. you clutched your chest, standing frozen in your spot as your eyes raked over luke's body.
"y/n."
you closed your eyes at the sound of your name leaving his lips. it hurts to hear it. you gulped, blinking away the tears that were pooling in your eyes. when you finally found the strength to move, luke broke away from percy's grip and walked towards you, despite the warnings from the kids behind him.
there hasn't been a day since he left where luke didn't regret the way he left things with you. he wasn't himself then, but even that didn't excuse the way he treated you. he'd spent too many nights practicing what he would say to you, how he would apologize, how he would plead for your forgiveness if the gods showed him mercy and somehow blessed him with the opportunity to see you again.
now that he had the chance, he realized that it was not a blessing. this was a punishment from the gods; a punishment for his actions in the last few years, a punishment worse than death. you were looking at him like you hated him, like you wanted nothing to do with him. you looked at him like he was a stranger to you and it killed him slowly because he still felt like you were every memory, every hope, every lifeline he'll ever have.
luke knew he couldn't blame you. you had a million reasons to walk away from him right now and leave him here with his tail tucked between his legs. he ruined the one good thing in his life the night he spoke to you like that and accused you of never loving him. how did he ever think that? how did he ever doubt you when you've shown him nothing but the good in this god-forsaken life? it haunted him. it still haunts him.
"don't."
luke's lips formed a straight line. he looked down at your feet, a shudder trickling down his spine when he saw the fading doodles on your shoes that he drew with sharpie years ago.
"you don't get to talk to me," you said. "you don't get to do that, okay?"
"i just want to apologize."
"you don't get to do that," you repeated, voice wavering as you spoke. you wiped your eyes with the sleeve of your shirt, clenching your jaw, "it's not fair."
"y/n, please," he begged, "please."
"no, i've grieved losing you already," you croaked out, crossing your arms over your chest, "i've already accepted that i lost you. you don't get to come back to my life for any reason."
"baby..."
"you're so mean, luke," you cried, pushing him back. he let you shove him and hit his chest. he knew you were pulling your punches. he stood there and took it, biting his bottom lip as he watched you break down in front of him, unable to hold you in his arms. "you're so fucking mean, you know that? you were gone for years and so many people died and got hurt because of you. and you come in here and use how i feel about you to your advantage. how fucking cruel can you be?"
"i know, i know, i messed up really badly, but you gotta believe me. i didn't do it to hurt you."
you scoffed, backing away from him, "but you did."
"luke," annabeth approached the two of you, placing a hand on luke's back. "we should go, get you checked out at the infirmary."
you sniffled, wrapping your arms around yourself as you looked away to hide your tears from the pair. luke reached out to touch you, but he quickly dropped his hand when you flinched. his tongue poked the inside of his cheek as he tried to keep his emotions at bay. he wiped his eyes, giving annabeth a small nod.
he looked back at you, hoping that your eyes would meet his, but you never turned around. luke sighed sadly, following his younger sister to the infirmary. you didn't turn around to watch him leave until he turned the corner, disappearing from your view.

almost (sweet music) | luke castellan
synopsis: exbf! luke castellan goes on a date with another girl after your death. went back to my roots and wrote an aphrodite reader!
song: almost (sweet music) by hozier
it's been a year.
it's been a year since percy uttered the words, "we need a shroud, for the daughter of aphrodite." it's been a year since he survived the battle of manhattan and you didn't. it's been a year since hermes had to pull him off your dead body as he thrashed and mourned your death.
he's out of camp half blood now, which he thinks you'd be surprised to learn. you always joked that he'd end up taking over mr. d's position if he wasn't an immortal god. luke had a special relationship with chb, just like you did. back when he was sixteen, the first time he kissed you, he let himself think about growing old with you there.
maybe taking over the summer activities and planning. living in a small cabin just on the outskirts of camp. he thought about making it into a welcome center for new arrivals, somewhere where they could have a hot meal and have a room of their own before they inevitably ended up in the hermes cabin with his rowdy siblings.
those were the easy days. back when his biggest fear was losing his best friend if he told you how he truly felt about you. it seems silly and trivial now that he looks back at it. he wishes he told you how he felt sooner, just to get those extra years, extra days, extra seconds with you knowing that you were his and he was yours.
but now he's in his twenties and you were six feet under. it wasn't fair and he felt disgusted with himself as he prepared for his first date with a girl chris set him up with from his sociology class at nyu. he knew that you would've wanted him to move on, after all, you always said that your favorite version of him was when he was in love. something about how his eyes sparkle differently and how his voice turns softer, kinder, when he spoke, but luke didn't know how to tell you that he was only like that when it came to you.
the date was fine. the girl was pretty. she had the same hair color as you and same giggly laugh, and luke should be grateful that chris knew his type, but all luke could do was compare her to you. it wasn't fair to the girl. she was lovely and she deserved someone who didn't think about their ex-girlfriend every time they looked at her.
when she showed up to the mom and pops restaurant luke picked out for the date, she was listening to your favorite artist. luke almost felt like he was back in the aphrodite cabin, listening to the song on your record player, swaying you back and forth in a lousy attempt at slow dancing. if he tried hard enough, he swore he could feel the sound of your heartbeat pressed against his chest, reminding him that you were still there, still alive.
it made him so dizzy that his date had to ask him if he was okay. he turned pale, all the color draining from his face. luke meekly nodded and told her a half-truth. i haven't gone on a first date in a while.
the girl smiled at him kindly, just like how you did when you first met him, and told him she understood. she sat across from him and sipped on her water, trying her best to keep the conversation going, but luke could tell that she knew his mind was elsewhere.
his mind was at camp half blood, in the sheds by the strawberry fields. his lips were on yours, a smile grazing his face that you had to pull away to tease him. he was always so smiley with you, no facade of the brooding, tough as nails, hermes head counselor that everyone else got from him. with you, he was luke, young, naive, and helplessly in love. when he closed his eyes, he could still feel the ghost of your lips on his, cherry lip gloss teasing his tastebuds.
his date complimented his necklace and for the first time that night, luke gave her a genuine smile and a look of interest. it was the necklace you bought for him for his seventeenth birthday. you'd saved up all your money from your part-time job at the froyo shop in ohio during the year. it was a silver dog tag with an engraving of mercury and venus circling each other. he hasn't taken it off since you put the necklace on him years ago.
when she asked the story behind it, luke spoke your name for the first time in a year to a stranger. when he caught himself talking about you in the present tense, a bitter taste lingered in his mouth and he had to gulp down the rest of his water to wash it away. he flexed his hand, a nervous habit that he had. and when the girl leaned over to place her own hand over his to steady him, luke pulled away from her like she just burned him.
he apologized profusely and it became clear to the girl that luke was not ready to go on a date with anyone. luke saw a flicker of disappointment in her eyes and he wondered if he'd looked like that the entire time, disappointed that it was her in front of him and not you. but then she tapped the back of his hand in a friendly way and leaned back in her chair and said, tell me about her.
you were his favorite topic of conversation. he recalled one too many conversations with chris and the stolls where they'd complain about how every conversation somehow ended up about you. so luke obliged and told her the story of how the two of you came to be. he kept the details vague, deciding that exposing olympus and the existence of the gods would be too much for a first date. maybe sixth, or seventh, but he doubts he'll get that far with her.
when the date was over, the girl gave luke a hug and whispered, i hope you guys get back together. it seems like you really love her.
luke wanted to tell her that if he had the power to be with you again, he would do it in a heartbeat, but that was beyond his control. luke thanked her and said, i hope so, too.
