Lud as dad headcanons?

hey anon this is a pure af ask n i’m absolutely here to provide u lovely ppl w dad lud content 

FIRST of all ludwig??? the epitome of Dad. he is absolutely the guy in khakis n a visor doing barbecue in the backyard n i hate him for it but also imagine this w me my friends

on a more serious note ludwig would make a good father i’d think bc he’s v?? genuine??? he genuinely wants the best for his kids n he tries v hard in all aspects of his life n this would be no different

ludwig is also big on morality! his kids would have good morals or he’d Die

they’d get a v structured, consistent life. ludwig is big on schedules n routine which is good for kids esp in regards to knowing what’s okay n what’s not, etc! they need to know what to expect n lud would do his best to help them understand what’s up

tbf lud would prbly think he’d be a bad father but i DIGRESS

he’d make sure to teach his kids life skills– managing ur finances, properly kicking a football, changing the oil in ur car, baking an actually good cake, etc.

his kids would get a comfy life but he would try his best not to spoil them bc that never ends well either. no one wants bratty children but they’d absolutely get what they needed n ofc presents n such at the proper times

he’d take the family on outings! camping trips would be a frequent thing for him and his fam

what lud would fail at tho is giving emotional support n effusive enough positive feedback bc we all know young kids need that excited “!!! u drew that !!! omg it’s so good!!” type of reaction n,,, lud isn’t,,,, v good at being enthusiastic

don’t get me wrong he would lov whatever his kids make it’s just hard for him to express that much Emotion smh

he’s not v observant n kind of awks when it comes to emotions in general so his children might end up wanting in that aspect of life but this can easily be solved by getting him a more emotionally in tune spouse

he’d learn to do the things w his kids! want to finger paint? yes lud will finger paint w u n no, don’t put ur painted fingers on his face– well too late but it’s ok! he did sign up for this

u betchu he’s the man walking around w a baby strapped to his chest n a diaper bag in hand. this man isn’t afraid to take responsibility!

he would read to his kiddos every night n tuck them in until they didn’t want to be tucked in anymore

he’d support them in whatever they set their mind on!! (unless it’s,,, yk bad) yk he’ll be at every competition/event/whatever!!!

he also wouldn’t be embarrassing like SOME parents. he’d understand the pain of having ridiculous n obnoxious parental figures coughsgilbertcoughs embarrassing u in front of ur friends

overall?? ludwig would be a dependable, familiar figure in his children’s life. they’d defo get to know him n know that he loves them bc even if he is repressed af havin kids?? would help bc u stop giving as much of a damn abt silly things like reputations after kids im guessin
