JASE & CHRISTELLE; are we friends or are we more?

Whether you like it or not, Jase & Christelle; we’ll call them Jaselle; were real to an extent. Unlike our Doraya post, we don’t have A LOT of material from their interactions but basically in this post, we’re going to piece together everything you know and give you a popular theory. “Jaselle” WOULD/MIGHT have been an official OTP if producers hadn’t pushed for fakehell/jathena. Everything in this post is info from sources and people working closely with The Inside costars.

For those of you who are super slow or can’t remember the early days of The Inside, “Jaselle” were legit friends with benefits. They rarely done any of that irritating and blatant flirting like you see a lot of these days on the timeline, but they were a thing, in that sense. Bare in mind that even if they were obvious about it, they wouldn’t have been in the wrong because: A) Christelle/Blake and Jase/Athena didn’t have ties B) Christelle’s and Athena’s friendship wasn’t as strong as it is now Here are texts from a source early on in the show, tipping us off on the fact that Jase and Christelle were “ones to watch”: 

If any of you are out there WANTING proof of Jase and Christelle interacting in a way that isn’t necessarily “just friendly”, there’re multiple threads where Jase very clearly expressed interest in Christelle early on. This one counts as one of them:

MISTAKING THINGS ABOUT CHRISTELLE FOR THINGS ABOUT SORAYA

Only recently after Jase publishing his own secret can we say that A LOT of things Jase has posted in the past could point to the fact that he and Christelle had a lot more than your average “friends with bebenfits.” Of course, whenever he does post about past relationships, people assume he’s talking about Soraya because they’re “official exes” if you like & producers obviously focused more on that relationship because Soraya was very involved in Jase’s original secret. HOWEVER, we can CONFIRM that Jase and Soraya were never, ever on “good terms” after their break-up. Yes, they acted civil but keeping in mind everything that happened between them, you can see why they’re not exactly willing to kiss and make up properly. They don’t hate one another, but they both seem to just avoid the topic altogether. It would be very, very out of character for either of them to indirect each other, never mind write a song.  In turn, this only leaves Christelle as someone Jase had a past connection with and was on the show at the same time. So, bare that in mind when you read the stuff that gets published here.

ONE-SIDED?

It could be argued that the attraction that came more from Jase’s side than Christelle. By that we mean; Christelle was more into it staying as a friends with benefits type arrangement while Jase was more interested in her. For instance, as seen above, a lot of the outright flirting came a lot more from his side than it did hers. You could argue the screenshots below are just interactions between good friends, but you’re in strong denial if you say they don’t remind you of interactions that happen between people in the cast who’re a little bit more than that...

(EXAMPLE)

The whole “playing favourites” thing is a weird but common flirting tactic in the Springs apparently. You see it with Emrys and Zelda, Dallas and Gisele/Disney, Theo and Gisele, the list goes on. This is also proof that the two of them DM’ed a lot. The fact that Jase didn’t leave her on read obviously implies their conversations were active and they had a lot to talk about.

SPRINGS FEST

Jaselle’s interactions around Springs fest were probably the most questionable. They spoke a lot about it before the event actually came around, including Jase outright asking Christelle what tent she was going to be in:

The interactions are questionable because (correct us if we’re wrong), we’re pretty sure Athena WAS in the picture at this point, even if it wasn’t official. But, that’s not the worst of it. Remember how at Springs Festival, the cast played dares and somebody took Jase’s clothes? It’s almost 100% certain that said person was Christelle. Again, doesn’t seem like anything to be too suspicious about, but take a look at this:

A lot of fans were sceptical about how “matter of fact” the conversation was, almost as if it were scripted. More so on Christelle’s part. She doesn’t seem shocked at all and some even begun to wonder if Jase and Christelle were TOGETHER when this all went down and the “no clothes” conversation was just to cover their tracks. I’ll leave you smart-asses to work out what they were actually doing if they WERE together. Bare in mind they know each other because they were friends in benefits, it’s not like the two of them haven’t been there before.

PRODUCER INVOLVEMENT 

As far as we know, NOTHING about “Jaselle” was PR, especially when you line up how they got to know each other against how “Jathena” got to know each other. Both Jase and Athena have repeatedly said, they originally started to hang out and get involved with one another because they were trying to get over other people. Once again, most people assumed Jase was talking about Soraya and he never outright denied it, but Soraya and Jase broke up long before The Inside even existed. Chances are, Jase was trying to get over Christelle because during the time they hooked up, Christelle was rekindling with her ex; Malaki. And, remember the cryptic and vague feud that Malaki and Jase had over something?  If not, check these answers on Jase’s ask.fm:

Did Malaki and Jase fall out over Christelle? If you don’t remember, the boys used to tell each other everything, so it’s likely. “Hate what he did but I know why he did it” could be referring to an Insider post that spotted Malaki and Christelle kissing. Nobody knows for sure but this seems the most obvious answer to all of this. 

SO, WHERE DID THE PRODUCERS COME IN? Like we’ve already said, Jaselle’s flirting all seemed to be very one-sided. If Christelle ever did blatantly show interest in Jase (which she obviously did, because they slept together multiple times), it was privately and away from the eyes of viewers. This doesn’t make very interesting television. What DOES make interesting television, however, is a night where Jase went as Lillian’s (remember her?) date to the masquerade ball but ended up leaving with Jathena. There’s ENDLESS receipts showing that Athena responded a lot better to flirting and henceforth, the public picked up on it.  The producers started pushing for Jathena to be mentioned more on The Insider, giving the fans more to talk about and before you know it, it’s Jase and Athena who’re together. That’s not to say “Jathena” is fake or PR- they’re definitely not. But, it’s no secret that the producers back certain stars/couples on their show. Anyone who’s popular and profitable, basically. As of lately, we’ve started to see the same thing with Fakehell. (Coincidence that Blake is a mutual friend of Jase and Christelle?)

THINGS GOT A LITTLE SOUR?

There’s no real telling what caused Jaselle to drift, but there are two obvious answers:  A) The start of Jathena and Christelle’s friendship with Athena  B) Christelle found out what Jase did to Soraya (we’ll get to this when we discuss music) Around the time Jase was hanging out more with Athena, Christelle would weirdly get a lot of asks about who she was seeing, how she was feeling, who she last kissed and how she felt about them etc. For the most part, she remained pretty vague, but there was one answer that caught our attention:

To the question “Best friends” Christelle answers with Jase’s name, so they were obviously still somewhat in each other’s lives. The next question after that, however, asked her to describe her mood and for those of you who don’t know what the video screenshot is, it’s a song by the girl group M.O called “AIN’T GOT TIME.” To give you an idea of the songs vibe, here are some of the lyrics: “I ain’t got time to worry about people, who ain’t worried about me. I ain’t got time to listen to people, who ain’t listening to me. I ain’t got time to care about people, who ain’t caring about me.” “Cause if  I think about you, you must be more than just a friend to me.” [CHECK OUT THE FULL SONG HERE]

Again, this could all be coincidence but things on this show are RARELY left to chance.  There’s also further proof that something did go down between Christelle and Jase on his ask.fm too:

But as always, he’s quick to make it clear he doesn’t regret her. Quite a statement for people who were supposedly “just ex-fwb’s”:

It’s just a shame there’s not a lot more posted publicly on this, because the dots we’ve connected so far all point towards them being a lot more serious than either of them let on.

FINALLY, THE MUSIC

We’ll start with Jase. During charity week, he released a song called “Everything I Didn’t Say”, outright saying that it “got deep.” Once again, basic ass fans just assumed it was about Soraya, but knowing what we know about “Jasraya” now, the lyrics definitely don’t add up.  “I wish that I could rewind all the times that I didn’t show you what you’re really worth” A pretty big nod to the typical FWB arrangement, no? Implying Christelle deserved better... “I was wrong, I admit, numb from your kiss while you were slipping through my fingertips” “Someday I’m sure we’ll pass each other by, until that time...” “I wish I could’ve made you stay, and I’m the only one to blame -- This is everything I didn’t say” -- Yeah, you get the idea. It’s unlikely it’s about Soraya and certainly not about Athena, so who does that leave us with? English Love Affair leaked LITERALLY tonight is conveniently about hook-ups and being infatuated with someone too: “Next thing we were back at her place, hide away in Mayfair, all the great and good there. Drinking all the way to third base; princess getting naked, falling on their faces. The storyline was so ridiculous, every single step had me begging for the next...” “When the lights go out, she’s all I ever think about.”

CHRISTELLE’S MUSIC

It’s a lot harder to prove that Christelle’s music IS about Jase, because so many assume that her love songs are aimed towards Malaki and more recently, Blake. But, check out this taken from her ask.fm:

In Christelle’s own words, she and Blake started to “get a little more serious” around DISNEY’S BIRTHDAY (15th Dec - so mid December, almost a month ago now). If you compare that to some of the songs Christelle has released about love, it seems hardly plausible to assume they’ve been written about somebody she’s only been serious with for a month.

CALL ME - self-explanatory. very sex orientated lol; “I can be your fantasy, all desires granted by me

THIS LOVE - “I’ll never love nobody like you” *Looks at the recentness of serious!fakehell* *Looks at the lack of talk about Malaki* *Sips tea* 

ALL IN MY HEAD? (awkward times for Hensley if so)

GENTLEMEN - Potentially written through the slightly bitter phase we spoke about earlier? This is what also had people wondering if Christelle found out about what happened between Jase/Soraya and that was the final straw. If he’s inspo behind the song, it’s definitely shade.

THE VERDICT

It’s obvious because of the situation they’re both in, this is all going to be denied, denied, denied. But, as you can clearly see from a lot of the screenshots taken above, it’s hard to find any other explanations for them. Therefore, we’re saying YES, #jaselle, definitely had the potential to be something more, if they’d played their cards right. Until next time...

DALLAS AND SORAYA; the parts you didn’t catch.

For those of you who aren’t so quick off the mark; we’re about to break this down from the beginning. #DORAYA, as you might know them, was around 75% P.R. and 25% other stuff; and we’re pretty sure the majority of you fell for it all...

THE BEGINNING AND WHY IT  EVER HAPPENED. 

For those of you who are (still) HARDCORE (delusional) Soraya x Dallas shippers, we’re sorry to burst your bubble but it really WAS P.R and it probably never would’ve happened if it wasn’t for the producers having more control over what happened in Season 2.  You should know, the publicity stunt was NEVER to boost Soraya’s popularity or name (even though it did). She was a newbie, the producers didn’t really care about her. It was for Dallas’s image, since he made more headlines/brought in more views.

I caught news of this mid-season 1 after Soraya joined the show, just before the SCA’s. Here are the texts from a source: 

Long story short, their relationship started off as a way of making Dallas look less of a douchebag which didn’t work in the end and if Soraya gained something from it too, then great, but the producers weren’t so fussed if she didn’t.  When S2 ACTUALLY started, it was common knowledge with the Inside team and some of the (wiser) cast that Soraya was less pleased about the arrangement, more than Dallas ever was. Probably because Dallas knew it would all work in his favour and Soraya knew she’d have to lie to people to keep up the work. That would explain posts like this, where Soraya blatantly exposed what was going on without actually doing it: 

NOTICE how it isn’t Soraya’s style to have that kind of tone when making tweets about people she’s dating or genuinely into. E.G. (we’ll get to this later):

On the other side of things, Dallas found it all pretty easy (which in reality it was), and he happily played ball most of the time:

SO, if you weren’t aware already, neither of them started the process with feelings for eachother. Even when their costars caught on to it not being 100% legit but suspected Soraya had fallen for Dallas irl, Soraya was still outright with what was happening. It was cryptic enough for her not to get into trouble, but obvious enough for anybody with an IQ over 10 to know what was being said:

WHAT CHANGED? (AKA THE MESS)

Sex, to get to the point. The original agreement of this whole thing (see Dallas’s DMs above) was that they act like a couple in public and get to do what they want when the cameras weren’t rolling. That’s why Dallas was technically still free to sleep with who he wanted to -- even if his cast mates thought it was suspect (because most of them just assumed they were together). At least, he was in the right until he started sleeping with Soraya as well as whoever else he wanted to. (Amelia, Gisele, Sophie etc. etc. etc. etc.). Pretty much anybody in the crew who were around Dallas and Soraya at the time will also confirm that he told her multiple times he wanted her to be his real girlfriend and that they should just stay together, even when the P.R stunt expires. 

Some people still might say that it was Soraya’s choice and her fault that she got hurt. Dallas DID have a bad rep before any of this happened, she’d had several warnings from people in the cast and yet she still chose to believe it. But, when you add “i love you’s” and meaningful statements like this one into the mix, you can see why it might mess with somebody’s head: 

SOMEONE - you decide who because they’re both at fault in the end - fucked up. Either Soraya was too prepared to buy the whole thing, because she developed feelings for someone who she knew (deep down) wasn’t completely into her. Or, Dallas and his “boyfriend” act got a little too convincing. The general over-protective/controlling act, for example. It’s questionable as to whether it really WAS an act: 

MANIPULATION (DALLAS)

Most people know that throughout the majority of the time Soraya and Dallas were “together”, Dallas payed more attention to their costar Gisele. It was never really surprising seeing as the two were joint at the hip in S1 and most thought they’d end up as a canon ship at some point in S2. That’s why no matter what she did or how she felt, Soraya got minimal attention, unless it was for hook-ups/sex, because Dallas’s focus was always somewhere else.  This is another thing that maybe hints towards Soraya knowing how this was all going to play out and putting herself through it so she came out looking like the better one. Time and time again, she was ignored by Dallas but still slept with him multiple times & let him do whatever he wanted.  Rumour has it in S1, Dallas was pretty honest about his feelings and genuinely did want to be with Gisele. Rumour has it he’d told Disney this. But, Gisele wasn’t too interested in any of that. She pretty much liked Dallas in the same way that Dallas liked Soraya. Sex, a bit of fun, but not commitments. The only difference being (as we’ve all seen) there was some sort of feelings there for him -- just not as strong as his were for her.  THEREFORE... It makes sense that Dallas used his relationship with Soraya to annoy Gisele. Telling Soraya he loved her and wanted to be with her would only give him more of an upper-hand in the Gigi situation, because it looked like he’d moved on from whatever feelings he had for her. Something Gisele understandably didn’t take too kindly to, in the end. On top of this, it was Dallas who told Soraya that she wasn’t allowed to tell Gisele that their relationship was fake (not the producers). If that isn’t suspicious...   (SEE MESSAGES FROM SOURCE):  

Soraya obviously didn’t have much choice in any of it, because she wasn’t supposed to say anything anyway. It was also obvious that (for a little while, at least) they were having the affect on Gisele that Dallas was hoping it would. How do we know this?  1 - Everyone witnessed Gisele acting generally cold towards Soraya (liking tweets that degraded her, more bluntness than the average Gigi conversation).  2 - Gisele actually called Dallas one night (when he’d just got off a “date” with Soraya) asking him to come over; she’d told him some stuff had gone down at a club, and gave a typical damsel in distress act. This led to her trying to get him to make a move on her (or vice versa) which he actually rejected. That was when she admitted she’d made the whole thing up. This alone proves that the relationship he had with Soraya was nothing but convenient & a way to play some kind of mind-fuck game. If he really DID have feelings for Gisele (which most people believe), he would’ve at least kissed back. But, clearly, messing with the heads of two girls at once was probably more fun in his books.  (Note that Soraya had no idea about this meeting and when it all went down, she and Dallas had told each other they were serious about their relationship multiple times). 

WAS SORAYA AT FAULT AT ALL? 

Honestly, there is not a lot that points towards Soraya as being the bad guy in this situation, but her ignorance was very questionable. People who support Dallas usually accuse her of knowing that Dallas liked Gigi/wasn’t into her all along but acted oblivious, because it’d score her sympathy points. Here are some of the more questionable Soraya moments in the relationship:  1 - THE ELEVATOR FOOTAGE: This is probably one of the least talked about/but biggest tell-tale signs that Doraya is nothing but toxic. At one of the cast events, Soraya was tipped off that Dallas had slept with somebody else (nobody knows who) and stormed out of their shared hotel room and got into the elevator -- Dallas followed. Inside a huge argument went down, people who saw the footage in the crew say they were yelling in each other’s faces and then as she went to get out, he pulled her back inside and kissed her. (This is also where the accusations about Dallas kissing her against her will come from)               The Insider gave Soraya multiple opportunities to leak the footage and have others in the cast see it, seeing as it worked in her favour (sort of), but she always rejected it. Surely, somebody who’d been put through that would want other people to know about it?  2 - DALLAS’S FLIRTATIONS WITH AMELIA - Soraya was completely aware of Dallas’s hook-up with Amelia and probably witnessed them flirting multiple times. Despite Amelia being a close friend of Soraya’s, she acted strangely ignorant/unphased towards it. This was also the case for most people flirted with minus the odd public interactions he had with Gisele. If she was so in love with him, wouldn’t it have hurt more.  3 - THE FINAL STRAW(ISH) - Most people will probably remember when Amelia posted a screenshot of Dallas talking about Soraya (in the worst possible way). 

Clearly, there is no excuse to talk about anyone like this, ever, and because it was on the TL, Soraya saw it. We’re not denying that she was upset but these were some of her tweets ON.THE.SAME.DAY:

Hardly distraught? Anyway, there was no official “break-up” but that day was more or less the last time anybody heard of them hanging out or being “Doraya” as they were known before then. The next time anything really happened was during charity week when the cast got the chance to record their own songs. 4 - OWEN: When Owen came to town, Soraya and Dallas were still technically “together”, even if their relationship was sinking at a record-breaking pace. Yet, Soraya hardly even tried to make it a secret that she was crushing on him from Day 1. That’s quite a swift move for somebody who was head-over-hills for someone else. 

THE MUSIC

                                        WHO ARE YOU Soraya was the first to start the whole “writing a song about each other” thing in this ship, and it wouldn’t be crazy to say she regrets it. Most people assumed Who Are You was about Dallas as soon as she posted it (and she’s never denied it). However, it is worth paying attention to some of the lyrics. Nothing was crazy disrespectful:  Do you miss me? Am I crazy? Am I losing hold of your love baby? Either you want me or you don't I need to know, I need to know It's so strange how the same thing Can make you feel so right And bring you so much pain. It's so strange how the same face Can make you love until it hurts. At this point, most assumed Doraya was over and I’m still willing to accept this was probably Soraya getting their relationship from her point-of-view out there. She never performed it or did anything else with it, it just exists.                                                 SORRY  Probably a little less sincere and this is what sparked rumours that Dallas might be regretting treating Soraya how he did (even though he continues doing it to date). It also caused fan speculation that he might actually want her back. He never actually confirmed it was about Soraya and people pointed out it could’ve just as easily been about Gisele:  I hope I don't run out of time. Could someone call a referee? 'Cause I just need one more shot at forgiveness I'll take every single piece of the blame if you want me to But you know that there is no innocent one in this game for two (Dallas later confirmed it was about Soraya, which didn’t sit too well with Hensley, who called bullshit on the whole song and mocked it in this video (LINK HERE)

                                                                          MISS MOVIN’ ON This came more recently and is so upbeat, it’s almost a little bit of an “in your face.” Soraya recorded it with Christelle, Hensley and Cas (as always) but did take full writing credit. It’s probably worth noting that AGAIN, she never really said anything bad about Dallas. It was more about herself.  I'm not the way that I used to be I took the record off repeat You killed me, but I survived And now I'm coming alive I broke the glass that surrounded me  I ain't the way you remember me  I was such a good girl So fragile, but no more. (Hensley once again confirmed it was about Dallas HERE and she also posted another video of Soraya mocking the subject of the song HERE)                                  WHERE ARE YOU NOW Dallas’s most recent song about Soraya. It more or less fits the narrative of A) Him wanted/or at least wanted, her back at some point and B) She knew what was going on the whole time and sort of used him and their relationship for popularity.  I gave you attention when nobody else was payin' I gave you the shirt off my back whatchu sayin' When you broke down I didn't leave ya I was by your side So where are you now that I need ya?                                     LOVE YOURSELF Probably the most controversial song of “Soraya’s” that she’s put out there about Dallas. Technically, it’s his original song that he released during charity week, but just a few days afterwards, she posted a cover of it with her own verse added:  You tried to make me insecure, Tried to break me, Maybe ‘cause you couldn’t love yourself.  But your poison was the cure,  And by accident you showed me how to love myself.  Nobody knows WHY Soraya even did this. The two biggest theories are that she thought Love Yourself was about her (it’s confirmed to be about Riley) OR she just thought the song was hypocritical in general, and shot back.                                    NOTHING LIKE US  There has been 0 acknowledgement of Nothing Like Us since it was leaked, yet Dallas sort of confirmed that it was about Soraya on ask.fm. He deleted it afterwards. 

CONCLUSION(S)

CONCLUSION #1; It turned into a toxic/emotionally abusive relationship. This is the theory most seem to go with. They believe that, despite her not showing it, Soraya had some sort of feelings for Dallas from the start and that he used this to his advantage. Mainly, he pretended to care about Soraya so that she’d think they were dating and he could use their relationship to annoy other people. Most believe he genuinely just liked the control that came with it. Now she’s with somebody else, he’s realising what he lost and wants her back; hence the nature of his songs.  CONCLUSION #2; Soraya was annoyed that the producers were using her for Dallas’s benefit and intentionally made herself the victim. Some think that Soraya is way too smart to let herself genuinely be treated the way she was. She purposely let herself come across as weak and vulnerable so that fans would start talking about it and their relationship would look controversial. Hence, earning her sympathy votes and more attention, seeing as she started the relationship as a newbie to the show. Dallas didn’t even realise she was playing his own game better than he was until it was too late.  CONCLUSION #3; Soraya and Dallas started as pure P.R, Soraya got too invested and actually caught feelings for Dallas which led to her pretty much accepting any type of attention she could get from him. Owen came into the picture and she lost interest, meaning Dallas lost someone who “worshipped the ground he walked on.” Now, he wants her back purely for that reason alone -- no real feelings involved.  Which do you believe?
