It is goodbye to this landmark. For years this building was a place of care in the community in Eye Suffolk. Caring for the not so young members of the Eye community.It has now been closed for many years, and of late the big blue unfriendly hoarding has been in place, while a bat 🦇 licence was sought to remove roosting bats 🦇 from the building. This is it’s final week after this weekend the demolition will commence and the site will be levelled, to make way for much needed new homes a mixture of houses 🏘️ and affordable homes in The centre of Eye. To get to this stage there will be some disruption to traffic on both Church Street and Wellington Road for around 14 weeks. Mid Suffolk District Council are developing the site and are responsible for this work together with their contractor @gbmdemolition who you should contact with any day to day concerns during the demolition process.
