Fabián Zitta puso su firma en varias figuras: Sol Estevanez y Laura Novoa de negro, Sofía Reca de blanco y Cris Morena en champagne, lucieron la Colección Caravana de su Invierno. Mención especial merece Laura, sin dudas esta fue una gran elección y con esto damos por finalizado sus errores en la Alfombra Roja.

once again, i'm not really sure how we've missed this one in the past, but nevertheless, i was very happy to get a chance to check out argentine designer fabián zitta's breathtaking s/s 2013 range at buenos aires fashion week.  called 'desert', it was briefly described on the bafw website as (trans.) "(i)nspired by the movement of water and the morphologies generated."  actually, i was reminded at times of the oslo-based designer/artist armando santos' s/s 2012 collection, which often took a similar tack (it was inspired by the ocean), in the shape of the undulation of the waves and the like.  

but if we're going to go back to mr. zitta's spring work once again, the website trendy tips reported that he employed a (trans.) "mix [of] volatility in natural silks with rigid materials such as leather, raffia, metal and vinyl," while the site fashion laws chimed in to add that (trans.) "(t)he colours that slid down the fashion catwalk in Argentina were black, midnight blue, elephant gray, orange and red. [these were g]arments with cutting edge style that are driven by good taste and sophistication. Masculine tailoring [and] impeccable lines [were] accompanied with shorts or mid-ankle-length dresses."

the collection was rife with asymmetrical elements and plenty of volume, opined the site chic muñeca moore, adding that they were also (trans.) "embroidered with pearls and paillettes," and that they saw the silhouettes as fully womanly, though i'd tend to say that i sometimes saw something a little youthful in some of the cuts--particularly the frock with the little wing-like appendages off the sleeves (third from top), which actually reminded me a bit of some of the dresses we saw in chanel's s/s 2012 exhibition, which was, interestingly enough, inspired by much the same ideas (and one of the first out of the gate in this new-wave ocean-lovin' extravaganza). 

and finally, rather thoughtfully, the blog fashion world weighed in that the range was (trans.) "surrounded by impeccable tailoring, attention to detail, imprint and glamour...[the designer] proposes a fresh styling with inspiration in the dunes and this was the colour that predominates throughout the collection, the sand, but we  also saw pastels, nude, and silver...[the] embroidery, pleating...and details of exquisite harmony resulted in a unique collection, and my judgment, simply sublime." and really, so it was, of course (see additional show images at loqueva).
