HAH BOY IS FATES A DOOZY so much in these games just makes no fuckn sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!! corrin as a protag. lets take this person we’ve sheltered for their entire life who doesn’t know how the world works at all and have them lead an army. corrin had SO much potential being a goddamn DRAGON LORD!!! i still think their design is neat but jeeeeeezus corrin is just naiveté central, and in a bad way. i feel like intsys is trying too hard to make their protags a blank slate that u can self-insert into since the dating sim half of fe games makes them sell so well. itd be nice to see them show some more decisiveness when writing a protag unit next. byleth in 3h is slightly better but suffers from this a bit too i feel

probably the other thing i hate the most about htese games is takumi, he’s one of the stupidest characters ive ever seen written. for any game he starts out as hating your guts. so in the conquest route am i supposed to feel emo about him??????? turning evil???? theres literally NO arc there. when he went all zombie i was LITERALLY like. well ok then. i could tell the game was trying to make u feel so sorry for him but it just doesn’t work lmfao!! i think its also i struggled so hard at the end of conquest and the end of that game is literally u have to fight TWO (2) takumis and i was like oh my god fuck thsi dude!!! so ironic cuz when they first unveilled fates i was like oh his design looks the coolest jflkdfjlkg

the writing in general just sucks ass as im sure everyone knows, siding with the hoshidans just sounds so damn SILLY if u take 2 minutes to think about it. yeah im going to side w these ppl i just met. i mean i guess that makes the fighting ur family thing more interesting there but the foundation of that is so. HUH. i guess they tried to justify that by making ur nohr family evil and these randos u just met all ~pure and good~

azura was kind of a dumb character i feel like the game tells me she’s plot relevant and then she barely does shit so whenever anything happened to her i was still like. well alright then. honestly i think the only thing that made me sad was the thing w/ elise at the end of birthright

need i say anything about some of the female designs in general and just the existence of the baby realms. goes without saying

sorry i went OFF jlkfdjg anyway i say all this and then lately ive been like hmm maybe i should replay one of these since i been in a fe mood HAH
