Świat według Kiepskich (The World According to the Kiepski Family), "kiepski" being a term roughly translating to the English term poor or shoddy) is a Polish television sitcom. The show follows the life of a dysfunctional Polish family from Wrocław. Most episodes are centered on Ferdynand Kiepski, the family's patriarch, who schemes to improve his financial or life situation, but ultimately fails. The main female protagonist is a symbol of many very hard working women especially in Poland. Her role is to go to work, sustain the family, manage the money, look after the children, cook, clean, complete house chores. She does this individually proving a woman can do all that by herself. Symbol of strength. Meanwhile, her husband sits at home all day watching TV and infamously drinking his beer. 

Aside from the show depicting the power of a female at home, the show also provides amazing aesthetic and home inspiration. Although the show premiered in the 90′s and still continues to this day, the unrenovated home still resembles the descriptions of Dorota Jasinska’s from her childhood home in the 60′s.
