Perchstar (Perchstone) - light grey tom

Family: Troutfin (father), Shellcrunch (mother), Lilypad (sister) Gender / Sexuality: tom / bisexual Personality: warm, inviting, trusting, has so much love to give, the active grandpa Backstory: Perchstar was a warm inviting young Tom as a warrior. Perchstone had a total of four litters with two queens by the time he received his leader name, and mentored the eldest from each of his litters. He is a leader who treats the whole clan like his kits, although he isnt as young as he once was. He has outlived both his queens, and now watches all his kits grow older and have a life.  Perchstar watches his deputy prepare for leadership, and he knows that he is ready. Still, Perchstar knows he cant leave his clan yet, he still has so much love to give. He has considered retirement, with Starclan’s approval of his deputy of course.  Ideal Partner: the active elder warrior refusing to retire to the elders den, cute old ppl shit pls Position | Clan: Leader | Brookclan

Fernstar (Fernpatch) - fluffy calico tabby tom

Family: Cloudleaf (father), Russetsun (mother), Tawnyspot (sister) Gender / Sexuality: tom / demisexual Personality: dad. Thats it.  Backstory: Fernpatch was always watching out for his clan, even before he became qualified to be a deputy, let alone leader. As an apprentice he was the one joining adventures to keep his denmates safe. He was often put on tracking patrols, or patrols when tension was high between borders, always having a calming air about him. He keeps his patrol level headed, and has certainly helped when they come across other clan members on patrols. Due to this, Fernpatch had a lot of acquaintances when it came to the other clans. When he became deputy, he loved seeing all his friends in the crowd from his spot beside the Black Rock.  Becoming leader had been unlucky, Fernpatch had been deputy for only three seasons, when a harsh chill forced his clan into starvation and his leader lost two lives to starvation, and another two to greencough.  Fernstar took the far journey to the caves, his fur sticking to his bones, and gained the wisdom of Starclan. He rallied his clanmates, and went to Frostclan. He asked for the clan to give two warriors who can help teach his warriors how to hunt in the snow, and Frostclan complied. This was a huge change for the clans, showing just how much it comes down to caring for each other.  Fernstar is the fatherly leader. He gained the respect of his clanmates at an early age, and he is very well respected by cats of all ages in all clans. His word is seen highly, and when punishments need to be given, they are fair. The clan knows the next deputy will have big paws to fill. Ideal Partner: the motherly type, the problem child, the person who makes Fernstar still have fun in his leadership years Position | Clan: Leader | Whisperclan

Willowstar (Willowspark) - dark grey tortie shecat with long fur

Family: Brushwind (father), Dewystreak (mother), Mallowbriar (sister) Gender / Sexuality: shecat / pansexual Personality: focused, regal, charming, loyal, trustworthy Backstory: Willowspark was a very hard working shecat from a young age. She worked hard to outperform her denmates and bring attention to her and her goals. She was so capable that when she was a brand new warrior, and a mentor fell ill unable to tend to his apprentice, she took over the duties. She surpassed expectations with her mentoring, and was quickly given another apprentice as the deputy retired and she took over the position with pride. She was one of the few molly deputies of the clan, and when the leader made his intentions clear for Willowspark to take over, she was so surprised but took on her duties with a whole new burst of energy.  When she gained her nine lives, she received them for things like being loyal to her clan, being someone they can trust, and making Thrushclan a well respected clan in the forest. Willowstar is a no nonsense leader, who will tell it like it is. Still, she is caring about her clan, and often seems to act like a friend rather than a leader. Because of her friendships with her clanmates, they respect her and follow her orders with little question. When she is questioned, she will of course explain herself, while ending her explanation with a reminder that her word is law.  Willowstar worked hard to get where she is, and will go down in history as the first molly leader of Thrushclan. Ideal Partner: maybe gimme her falling for the elder apprentice she helped mentor, or the son of the deputy she took over for, anything would be cute with her, even one of those oak/blue type shit with her Position | Clan: Leader | Thrushclan

Coalstar (Coalfur) - short haired dark grey tom

Family: Stonefur (distant relative), Thunderstep (father, deceased), Daywhisker (mother, elder), Blackclaw (brother), Shadowpelt (younger sister), Crowsong (younger sister) Gender / Sexuality: Tom / bisexual Personality: noble, just has this regal way that he holds himself, really symbolizes a leader, and a Smokeclan warrior so well, scary but in a good way, for his clanmates at least Backstory: Coalfur was the perfect Smokeclan warrior. Pure blood, even from the forgotten forest, Coalstar is a distant relative of Stonefur (Stonestar). Coalfur was a consistent, stable, sturdy warrior. Terrifying when prowling under the thick fog of their territory, Coalfur earned his deputy position through constant hard work without sacrificing anything. He was just a Tom who could get a lot done, and done the right way. When he finally became leader, the clan was seen with nobility, and other clans saw the Smokeclan cats for the dangerous ferocious shadows of the forest. Nursery tales of the dark shadows of the forest riding evil Smokeclan warriors began to resurface. Especially since Coalstar was leader when Twistedfoot came to be a prisoner.  Coalstar is a smart leader, who can think moons ahead and plan skillfully, even if others dont understand at first. Him keeping Twistedfoot alive, ended up helping the apprentices understand responsibility, while also forcing Thrushclan to owe him a debt. His clan ended up becoming stronger as he had to have a new position of guard stationed with Twistedfoot. Ideal Partner: main guard of twisted, or a young warrior who used to be an apprentice when twisted first came into camp, a senior warrior who is more run by their emotions and ends up arguing with him a lot, he would be so funny for like a lovey dovey cat, bonus points if its the medicine cat. Hailstar (Hailspirit) - fluffy white tom

Family: Blizzardsong (father), Cloudygaze (mother) Gender / Sexuality: tom / demi Personality: just, fair, thoughtful, spiritual, respectful  Backstory: Hailspirit was an adventurous little kit. When he was five moons old he was eager to follow his older denmates to the apprentice den. His mother warned him about an incoming storm, but he thought it was her lying to keep him out of trouble. So of course little Hailkit snuck out of camp to prove he could hunt. He got lost in an insane blizzard of flurries, finding shelter in what seemed to be an unknown cave. In the dark whiteout, the kit ended up catching a mouse that sought shelter in the same cave, which kept Hailkit alive. When his clan came looking for him in the morning, they found him curled up in the Crystal Cave.  When he returned to camp, shivering with frozen whiskers, he was named an apprentice. Hailspirit was a very good listener, and loves to learn. He definitely learned from his scary adventure, and knows that it was Starclan who kept him safe. His loyalty to the warrior code is very strong. He became a deputy young, since he had an apprentice only a moon after becoming a warrior. He was given a rather unruly apprentice who questioned the warrior code and authority. Hailspirit turned the apprentice into a hard worker through patient explinations. Hailspirits beleifs arent blind, they come from facing an incredible challenge and being given help to overcome. He follows the code out of respect to those who saved his life.  His recent rise to leadership is something that no one can deny is a good thing. He knows when to question the warrior code, and when to abide by it, even if its cruel. He is kind and gentle, but he can be stern when he needs to be, earning the respect of others in the forest. Hailstar was the tom who allowed his clan to go aid the other clans when the forests worst frost came, covering all territories in snow for the first time in generations.  Ideal Partner: his cute loyal mate,  or someone who loves to complain like it’s a funny dynamic, or the quiet one would be sweet with him, also the energetic type cuz he will not be able to keep up Position | Clan: Leader | Frostclan

Lakestar (Lakefreeze) - fluffy off-white shecat with very pale cream points

Family: Snowdrift (father), Pinetail (mother), Cloudfall (brother) Gender / Sexuality: shecat / pansexual Personality: selfish, stubborn, doesnt joke often, gives mommy domme vibes Backstory: When Hailstar sent warriors to aid the other clans during the Frost Wind, Lakefreeze was a young apprentice, newly out of the nursery. Young for an apprentice, she was just big enough to start training. At five moons old she followed after her mentor to aid Brookclan. She lived among the reeds and taught the fishers how to stalk in the snow, how the show moves under your paws. She learned as she taught, and when she returned back to Frostclan, she was the youngest warrior in the forest.  Lakefreeze became friends with Brookclan cats, and those from her clan who went to the other clans made friends there. This is how Lakefreeze became friends with so many powerful cats in the forest. With at least one or two followers in each clan now, Lakefreeze was ready to become deputy. Given an apprentice at only one full year old, Lakefreeze was qualified to become deputy. Hailstar named her deputy, knowing he was going to die soon.  Now Lakestar runs Frostclan. When other leaders say stupid shit at gatherings, she calls them out on it. Thankfully the hagglers in the back row advocate for her, and she often ends up being the talk of the gathering when she speaks.  Lakestar is a young and powerful shecat, who has big plans for her clan, and the forest. Putting her followers into leadership positions will help her rule the forest, while still having all five clans. Starclan has given her nine lives, and she intends to use them to perfect the forest.  A lover of learning, Lakestar takes any opportunity to sharpen her skills where needed sparring with her senior warriors. Ideal Partner: gimme one of her followers in another clan, maybe one she helped become leader, or the leader she already has in her pocket so its fine, or one of her senior warriors she spars with wink wink Position | Clan: Leader | Frostclan

Important Pfurrs of PrairieClan

hello friends! i will make a more detailed post about what a 'pfurr' is in prairieclan, but for now all you need to understand is that a pfurr is a cat's closest companions, essentially their partners. polyamory is totally normalized in prairieclan, and actually expected. a cat in a pfurr is assumed to be in a relationship with all the cats they aren't directly related to, and the units act as their own small families within the clan! maara is another term used in prairieclan, and it is a cat's closest friends, typically those they grew up with. important to note: cats in a pfurr are maara, but cats that are maara are not automatically in a pfurr together. all the cats listed are from my prairieclan clangen playthrough!!

this pfurr was maara growing up

except for jumpholly, she joined later

poppypetal gave birth to five kits, honeyshade gave birth to one, shadewhisker gave birth to one, and jumpholly gave birth to four

this pfurr decided not to disclose which tom sired the kits, so it is still unknown to this day

of course, this doesn't matter, as rubble and yellow are both wonderful fathers to all the kittens

poppypetal has long since passed, but the pfurr honors and remembers her always

Bloompool (deceased)-Dewshadow (deceased)- Braveclaw (deceased)- Heatherswoop (deceased)

yes, this entire pfurr is dead

doesn't mean they weren't important, though!!!

dew, brave, and heather were all pregnant at about the same time

dew and brave each gave birth to three kittens, and heather gave birth to two

unfortunately, tragedy struck this pfurr when their kittens were young

in the dead of winter, a few rogue ferrets managed to find their way into the nursery full of newborn kittens

the queens fought bravely, managing to keep four of the six kittens alive

sadly, dewshadow and mumblecall gave their lives to protect the kits

bloompool, who was sleeping nearby, raced into the tunnel to protect his pfurr, but lost his own life in the process

heatherswoop was forced to raise six kittens completely on her own, without her pfurr, an extremly difficult feat for a cat used to having three others to lean on

heatherswoop herself is now also deceased, having starved to death in a difficult winter

(many cats speculate that this loss and tragedy is why beepool is Like That, despite none of his siblings sharing the same traits)

RARELY do pfurrs get this large

this is due to the fact that swallow, meadow, murk, frost, and acorn are all siblings and incredibly, extremely close

the three litters were all birthed by poppypetal, exactly two moons apart, meaning that for just a little bit, all five were in the nursery and apprentices together

it's been known by the clan ever since they were young that any cats who started a relationship with one of the five would be joining their pfurr, not the other way around

of course, this means everyone was extremely surprised when acorntail declared her love for bounceshadow and beepool, and said she would even leave her siblings' pfurr to start one with just them

this was made all the harsher when beepool rejected this offer

bounceshadow was not so stupid, and fit in seamlessly

and then there was the matter of the kittens

this pfurr has created a record number of kittens

and it all started with frostleg

now, normally, a pfurr does not specify which member sired a litter of kits

cats can speculate, but they keep it to themselves

and of course, having kittens outside your pfurr is basically unheard of. the whole POINT of the pfurr is to have lots of options to have and raise kits with

which is why it was a major scandal when frostleg, after refusing to acknowledge her obvious pregnancy, popped out four kittens, one of which was the spitting image of beepool... about two moons after a refused to join the pfurr

the pfurr very nearly split, siblings and partners split on what to do

but in the end, frostleg needed their support. and they all loved her, so they put it behind them and stayed by her side

beepool, despite his clear involvement with the litter's creation, refused and continues to refuse to take part in his kits' lives

later, frostleg found herself with another surprise pregnancy, giving birth to a single kit. this time though, the father, ravenburr, stepped up, did what was right, and ended up happily joining the pfurr to raise his kit

he and frostleg went on to have four more kittens

yes. frostleg is a mother to nine. NINE

mumblecall gave birth to three kits, but sadly all three died due to a prey sickness. she later adopted a kitten and he is being raised as the pfurr's own. meadowblotch has also had one kitten

Quickrapid-Spottedwing (former)-Doebloom-Dustfur-Riverfang-Thimblewhisker

quick, doe, river, and thimble are all brothers, kits of frostleg and beepool (even if he pretends he isn't)

this pfurr was all maara growing up, with dust and spotted's other siblings

however only dust and spotted joined the pfurr

this pfurr is one of the few examples of a cat actually leaving

spottedwing became pregnant when she was still spottedpaw, about a half-moon before her warrior assessment

upon discovery of her pregnancy, a pfurr quickly formed to support her

quickrapid was the sire, and had barely himself been a warrior for more than a moon

spotted gave birth to four kits: bird, badger, bison, and bramble

badgerkit was born during the prey sickness, and died of starvation before she even opened her eyes. bramblekit, always a loner, wandered off on his own one day and was found hours later, dead. it's assumed he tumbled into a hidden tunnel entrance and hit his head

after the death of two kittens, the pfurr struggled badly. especially spottedwing. her relationship with the kits' sire went downhill fast

even though she knows her pfurr loves her, spottedwing still made the decision to leave it. it's just too hard

aaaaand that's it! there are a lot more cats than this, and i'm stil trying to sort out other pfurrs and relationships, but these are the big, important, dramatic ones! hope you enjoyed this little insight into a unique prairieclan feature!

Orchardclan’s main heads!

Pikestar is the leader of Orchardclan - hard-headed and intense, she’s usually the main aggregator at gatherings. She’s pretty loud and out there, and has her fair share of scars from scuffles during her warrior days. Fernpatch is her deputy(and one of the two -patch deputies lol) He’s much more level-headed than she is, and more often than not, is the only one between her and a potential war, really. He’s pretty laid back, but is fiercely loyal to his clanmates, and leader, and won’t hesitate to use his claws if someone insinuates she’s a poor leader. Orchardclan hasn’t been stronger than her leadership, in his opinion.

And Duskflower! The herbalist of the clan, she’s one of the taller cats in Orchardclan and... Often times scares her clanmates. She has a bad habit of lurking in the shadows and scaring them when she moves. She’s quiet, if only because she spends much of her days restocking her supplies, Fernpatch is a close friend to her though! It's tradition in all clans for herbalists to be close with their leaders and deputies, in a close bond of three friends(a few stories say more, but no one can agree whether it's ethical to force three cats to be in a relationship. Most cats say it’s not ethical.) to ensure that the clans are portrayed by a united front! As a result, the herbalists aren’t separate from their leaders and deputies during gatherings. While deputies must stay at the base of the stump, herbalists stay on the ground near them, most herbalists only stay when the clans are called for the reporting, and wander off during the actual speaking.

There are some older elders that get affronted when the clan heads aren’t mates, and their kits and grandkits tend to try to talk to them about it and insist that its REALLY not ethical.

Gatherings function differently, too. The leaders, deputies and herbalists all sit in different positions along the tree stump, with leaders traditionally being on top, where it was felled, deputies taking the assigned root gnarls below them, and herbalists on the ground in front of the tree. The gathering is in three sections - the initial meeting, when the clans first enter the gathering place and mingle until the final clan joins. After that, the heads of the clans go to their assigned spots, and the second portion begins, the reporting portion. This time is for full attention for warriors, older apprentices and any elders that attend, and is where the leaders will announce births, deaths, new apprentices, warriors, deputies, and assignment changes within their clans, as well as news of hunting, and predators sighted or scented. The final half is generally the longest portion of the gathering and when all the clans mingle, friends share personal news, apprentices meet others from different clans, and most of it is shared while grooming.

While the clans aren’t buddy-buddy, the modern clans try and avoid conflict reasonably. After Froststar and Swallowstar died, the gatherings were held in stoic silence, and it wasn’t until Rainstar passed away, that Pikestar got fed up and demanded things go back to normal. For moons after Froststar and Swallowstar died, the clans were walking on eggshells around one another - particularly Thicketclan and Creviceclan. Even now, its very rare to see any Thicketclan cat with a Creviceclan cat.
