I was thinking about what would be the closest thing in Digimon franchise to Nasuverse (Fate, Tsukihime, etc.) ORT. This ultra mega hyper OP Alien being designed to be a secret boss that you're not supposed to beat and that manages to escape all common sense of our world even when weakened to hell--
My first thought was Death-X-mon (or Dexmon). Although I think it's pretty boring (or at least most of its appearances have been like that, since it's more or less always the same stuff with it), I think it's the closest thing to an OP Alien to whom common sense can't be applied. Like, it's not even a Digimon to begin with?
But just right now while writing this I thought about the Eaters... more precisely, Mother Eater from Cyber Sleuth. That's another very good candidate, yes-- and way more interesting. Definitely not a Digimon being. In fact the whole Eater race comes from a higher dimension no one in the verse can access, so... Mother Eater is particularly very disturbing in design, even more than ORT...
now I want an ORTmon--

Oh yeah actual quote from Guda regarding ORT.
This is the same person who has faced godlike beings like Zeus and Beasts.

oh so daybit wants to spare everyone from a worse fate?
It's super important to LB7 narrative to introduce ORT as this ultimate bogeyman from lullabies from mages (sleep or ORT will eat you type). As this super forbidden thing no mage would dare to pester at all. That sends them to auto panic. Only to show later that Daybit sees ORT waking and trashing everything as preferable to whatever he's afraid will happen.
In short, Nasu introduced ORT and hyped it all through the chapter as the meanest and badass mf only to have Daybit apparently want to use him as a tool to avert something worse. This is a character described as a survivalist who gave up survival. That's the thing the fandom is missing out on. They are also not paying attention Tezca basically said ORT's not going to wreck havoc aimlessly but wake up and go straight to Antarctica from Brazil to crush Chaldeas for some reason. Why that rush when Chaldeas is so far away and most things ORT did was to attack stuff on reach before?
Daybit mumbles: everything will become hollowed. I think that includes ORT.

Given the plot so far of choosing how to end humanity and presence of Arcueid in the trailer, I can't help but hold faint hope the final boss of OC3 will be the actual Crimson Moon.
