Addendum  :  thank  you  again  for  you  interest  in  our  game !  to  expand  on  what  user  p  mentioned,  the  fhq  team  do  not  expect  or  require  players  to  have  extensive  knowledge  of  the  lore  as  there  is  no  widely  accepted  canon  on  the  scp  wiki !  this  is  because  the  scp  wiki  is  a  massive  collaborative  writing  forum  where  thousands  of  users  have  posted  stories  so  keeping  the  lore  100%  consistent  across  all  articles  is  basically  impossible  (  there  are  currently  7000+  articles  and  4200+  short  stories  on  the  wiki  !!  🤯  ).  the  main  thing  everyone  on  the  wiki  agrees  on  is  that  these  stories  all  take  place  in  a  universe  where  a  secret  international  organization  is  protecting  humanity  from  the  supernatural.  and  so,  for  the  purposes  of  this  rp,  the  admin  team  will  be  creating  a  lot  of  original  lore  and  any  plot  drop  that  uses  terminology  from  the  wiki  will  have  a  mini  glossary  to  explain  what  they  mean  !

hi admins! i hope the review process is going smoothly & you’re all taking care of yourselves!! i’m a bit confused by the timeline — will you be posting acceptances the same day that you finish decision making, or sometime later?

hello  there,  thank  you  for  your  inquiry.  :>  the  resident  schedule  nerd  has  logged  in,  and  i  got  my  morning  cup  of  water! i'd  be  happy  to  break  down  the  timeline  for  everyone  who's  curious.  ^^  our  review  will  generally  take  about  12-24  hours,  as  it  is  mainly  dependent  on  how  quickly  applicants  are  able  to  respond  to  our  dms.  our  personal  style  when  reviewing  apps,  especially  for  a  verse  many  may  be  unfamiliar  with,  is  to  not  make  a  decision  solely  on  lore  knowledge.  we  want  to  give  everyone  a  fair  shot! therefore,  our  rp  mgmt  team  may  follow  up  with  applicants  in  dms  to  ask  for  clarifications,  which  is  why  the  process  can  take  up  to  24  hours.  no  longer  than  that,  since  i'll  be  on  it  down  to  the  last  minute,  haha.  the  others  are  in  timeout!  ;> of  course,  as  stated  in  our  apping  page,  it  is  up  to  the  applicant  who  receives  our  questions  to  respond.  if  we  do  not  receive  a  response  in  half  a  day  (roughly  12  hours),  then  that  would  affect  the  standing  of  that  app.  as  i  am  in  a  different  time  zone  than  the  other  members  of  the  rp  mgmt  team,  even  if  they're  asleep,  i  will  be  around  to  look  over  dms. after  our  follow  up  questions  are  answered,  then  we  will  make  our  final  decisions,  and  send  dms  to  those  who  unfortunately  will  not  be  a  part  of  our  first  round  acceptances.  since  all  our  applicants  have  given  their  time,  effort,  and  love  into  writing  their  apps,  i  believe  it  is  our  duty  to  extend  that  courtesy  back  and  provide  personalized  feedback  and  closure  to  conclude  our  apping  process.  most  likely,  if  everything  follows  schedule,  we  will  be  making  an  acceptance  day  announcement  later  today  or  tomorrow.  thank  you  very  much  for  your  inquiry,  and  if  you  have  other  questions,  please  feel  free  to  send  us  another  ask!

firstly!  our  scheduled  close  for  the  submit  box  will  be  february  10,  2024,  11:59  pm  in  the  pacific  standard  time  (pst,  gmt-8).  we  will  only  be  granting  a  submission  box  extension  of  an  extra  24  hours  to  every  one  if  we  receive  at  least  3  requests  for  a  deadline  extension,  off-anon. in  the case  we  receive  20  apps,  we  will  close  the  box  earlier.  as  exciting  as  it  might  be  to  get  a  lot  of  apps,  we  as  admins  knew  we'd  feel  bad  having  to  pick  only  8  people  to  join  us.  :<   therefore,  we  have  a  set  cap  of  closing  the  box  at  20  apps.  then,  depending  on  the  number  of  apps  competing  for  a  role,  our  evaluation   and review roughly take  12-24  hours.  we  will  be  reviewing  the  applications  based  on  our  rubric.  if  there  are  any  parts  we  are  unsure  of,  or  any  conflicts  with  our  lore,  we  will  reach  out  to  the  applicant  for  clarifications.  we  want  to  be  on  the  same  page  of  our  applicants,  and  messaging  back  and  forth  can  take  some  time,  therefore,  we  estimate  this  portion  of  our  review  process  will  take  about  a  day. after  selections,  we  will  be  announcing  our  acceptance  date.  since  i'm  pretty  old  school  and  enjoy  making  welcome graphics and  the  like,  acceptances  would  most  likely  be  posted  in  batches,  every  5  minutes,  starting  from  12  pm  pst on the acceptance date.  the posts will roll out with  our  reserved  players  first,  then  our  accepted  applicants,  and  end  with  admin  characters.  it'll  hopefully  take  no  more  than  one and half-hours. if  you  have  any  further  questions, feel free  to  send  us  another  ask or a dm! :>

what can players expect in this game? looks really interesting!

:> thank you for asking! there are many things to explore and discover at site-φ... and while we don't want to spoil anything, we'd suggest players to question everything and open themselves up to the unknown! ( and also to check out our gameplay page! ) our game will also mix narrative storytelling, puzzle solving, and tabletop roleplaying game elements, such as "hit points" and dice rolls, with a simplified homebrew system friendly for beginners. you do not have to be knowledgeable about ttrpg to enjoy the game, and a guide will be provided to accepted players. while the main genre is paranormal horror, the scp foundation universe can be offbeat and humorous. we personally like the night vale-ish and scarfolk-like vibes, so expect transmedia storytelling as the game develops! and memes and funny lil' things.... if you have any follow-up questions, send us an ask or dm us anytime!

i've always been interested in the scp foundation, but this is my first deep dive into it so i wanted to know if there are rules for foundation employees who have family?

i.e. i see there are npcs who are married — would their partner also be employed at the foundation? and in the case of au fait, since their father was a foundation administrator, would it have been possible for them to have grown up on a compound, or would it be more of a "lived separately from their father and only found out about his involvement with the foundation when they joined as an adult" kind of situation?

hello  and  thank  you  for  your  interest  in  our  game!  since  there's  more  than  one  question,  i  will  respond  to  the  one  about [𝐴𝑈 𝐹𝐴𝐼𝑇]  first  and  then  the  others  will  be  under  the  cut  🫶 firstly,  it  would  not  be  possible  for  [𝐴𝑈 𝐹𝐴𝐼𝑇]  to  grow  up  in  a  foundation  compound/facility  due  to  the  veil  policy.  however,  because  the  foundation  commonly  recruits  from  the  military,  [𝐴𝑈 𝐹𝐴𝐼𝑇]  could  have  grown  up  at  a  military  base  in  order  for  their  father  to  maintain  his  cover  story. the  frequency  in  which  [𝐴𝑈 𝐹𝐴𝐼𝑇] saw  their  father  while  growing  up  would  be  completely  up  to  each  applicant,  but  they  should  not  have  any  knowledge  of  the  foundation  until  they  were  recruited  (well,  as  long  as  their  father  kept  everything  above  board  😉🤫).  because  their  father  was  high-ranking,  it  would  also  make  sense  that  their  father  was  the  one  who  pulled  them  into  the  fold.  whether  this  was  always  the  plan  or  if  it’s  something  that  developed  as  [𝐴𝑈 𝐹𝐴𝐼𝑇]  forged  their  own  path  would  be  up  to  each  applicant! more  information  about  how  the  foundation  handles  employees  with  families  under  the  cut  !

while  there  are  no  rules  against  foundation  personnel  being  in  relationships/getting  married/starting  families  with  civilians,  foundation  employees  are  not  allowed  to  disclose  their  work  to  any  civilian.  all  foundation  personnel  are  given  cover  stories  when  hired  and  are  expected  to  maintain  it  while  they  are  off  the  clock.  anyone  found  to  have  shared  unauthorized  information  with  civilians  would  likely  be  punished  and  those  they  told  would  receive  amnestics.  punishment  could  be  anything  from  demotion,  firing  and  administration  of  amnestics,  or  termination  depending  on  the  severity  of  the  information  leak. as  for  whether  or  not  foundation  employees  could  have  a  romantic  partner  who  also  works  for  the  foundation,  the  answer  would  be  yes...  to  a  point.  it  is  possible  that  a  married  couple  could  have  been  recruited  by  the  foundation  or  that  foundation  employees  could  have  fallen  in  love  and  gotten  married.  each  facility, director, and mtf commander  have  their  own  perspectives  on  how  acceptable  romantic/sexual  relationships  among  employees  are,  but  considering  that  a  lot  of  the  personnel  spend  so  much  time  at  their  place  of  work,  it  kind  of  limits  the  dating  pool…  🤭 however,  it  goes  without  saying,  if  a  relationship  affects  the  work  within  the  foundation,  the  foundation  would  consider  that  relationship  to  be  a  liability  to  be  taken  care  of.  site-φ  director  osterholz  certainly  doesn't  care  for  mixing  business  with  pleasure,  and  does  not  approve  of  unprofessional  conduct.  and  it  should  be  noted  that  the  mtf  chi-00  commander,  smooth  operator,  is  instructed  to  discourage  any  "distractions"  within  his  mobile  task  force.

hello,  hello  friend!  thank  you  for  checking  in!  so,  if  we  receive  five  apps,  there  will  indeed  be  a  grace  period  announced  so  others  can  hopefully  wrap  their  apps  and  submit  before  a  new,  closer  acceptance  date.   when  that  date  will  be,  precisely,  depends  on  how  close  we  are  to  the  11th  when  those  five  apps  are  received!  we're  thinking  no  longer  than  an  extra  24-48  hours.   however!!  as  mentioned  in  our  announcement,  we  will  only  be  considering  ten  applications  this  round.  if  we  receive  ten  apps,  we  will  immediately  close  the  submit  and  begin  reviewing  those  ten.  no  more!   hope  to  see  you  in  the  inbox  soon!  if  you've  got  any  other  questions  as  you  write,  please  don't  hesitate  to  ask!

hello, thank  you  for  your  inquiry!  :>  we're  very  pleased  to  hear  that  our  open  skeletons  have  caught  your  eye!  to  be  honest,  we  don't  have  a  singular  specific  "vision"  for  the  skeletons'  backstories.  it's  one  of  our  founding  principles  that  the  game's  story  supports  the  creative  vision  of  our  applicants!  we  like  to  encourage  writers  and  applicants  to  apply  with  a  character  they're  excited  to  write  and  play  with  the  group!

if  you  are  interested  in  𝑉𝐸𝐿𝑉𝐸𝑇  𝐺𝐿𝑂𝑉𝐸  potentially  being  in  the  antimemetics  division,  here  are  some  questions  to  consider:

the  antimemetics  division  is  focused  on  containing  "concepts,  objects,  and  entities...  [that]  ...  endanger  human  life,  but  are  almost  impossible  to  record  or  even  remember."  so  what  would  it  be  like  to  be  the  only  few  that  remember  such  traumatic  events,  and  are  tasked  with  holding  onto  that  burden?

the  division  also  uses  mnestics,  which  is  the  opposite  of  amnestics.  these  drugs  are  made  to  prevent  or  reverse  memory  loss/erasure.  they  are  also  used  to  "perceive  and  retain  the  knowledge  of  antimemes."  what  does  it  feel  to  remember  everything,  anything?  always?  keep  in  mind  that  amnestics  and  mnestics  are  not  recommended  to  be  combined  as  well!

one  of  the  key  thematic  questions  we  had  when  devising  𝑉𝐸𝐿𝑉𝐸𝑇  𝐺𝐿𝑂𝑉𝐸's  skeleton  is:  is  it  right  to  judge  someone’s  social  climb  when  they  came  from  nothing?  is  it  morally  wrong  to  want  to  serve  one’s  self-interests  if  those  actions  also  help  others?  while  we  are  open  to  interpretation  for  this  skeleton's  backstory,  this  is  a  crucial  aspect  that  we  as  admins  stand  behind  as  an  integral  feature  of  the  skeleton.

with  𝑅𝐸𝑉𝐸𝑅𝑆𝐸  𝐸𝑁𝐺𝐼𝑁𝐸𝐸𝑅,  their  backstory  is  a  bit  more  streamlined  as  they  are  considered  an  established  and  important  figure  within  the  foundation.  you  could  even  call  them  a  "celebrity"  scientist,  haha!  as  they  were  admitted  into  the  experimentation  committee  board  right  after  the  internship,  they  may  not  have  had  students,  but  there  would  be  many  senior  and  junior  scientists  who  may  come  to  them  for  advice.  here  are  some  concepts  to  help  you  muse:

𝑅𝐸𝑉𝐸𝑅𝑆𝐸  𝐸𝑁𝐺𝐼𝑁𝐸𝐸𝑅  is  essentially  a  "good  person"  who  made  one  terrible  mistake.  they  believed  wholeheartedly  the  daughter  of  their  dear  friends  had  presented  their  thesis  based  on  their  own  work  and  recommended  them  out  of  admiration  and  pity.  however,  to  make  things  more  complicated,  𝐹𝐿𝐼𝑀𝐹𝐿𝐴𝑀  has  grown  from  that  behavior  and  became  a  scientist  in  their  own  right  and  no  longer  plagiarizes.  they  are  haunted  by  that  mistake  and  feel  guilty  from  their  passivity,  then  and  now.  they  know  if  they  come  forward,  they  would  be  affecting  not  only  their  reputation,  but  also  all  of  their  students,  colleagues,  and  peers.  how  does  a  moral  exemplar  deal  with  a  huge  mistake?

not  only  that,  they  are  on  the  experimentation  committee  board,  who  are  the  same  foundation  supervisors  who  rejected  𝐻𝐼𝐺𝐻  𝐹𝐼𝐷𝐸𝐿𝐼𝑇𝑌's  proposal  and  had  a  direct  (or  indirect)  hand  in  their  demotion.  there's  also  a  potential  that  they  could  have  been  tied  in  with  𝐺𝐴𝑅𝐷𝐸𝑁  𝑉𝐴𝑅𝐼𝐸𝑇𝑌  as  well!  they're  also  old  friends  with  𝐾𝐼𝑁𝐺'𝑆  𝐺𝐴𝑀𝐵𝐼𝑇,  who  went  through  a  huge  scandal,  as  well  as  have  friendly  correspondence  with  𝐸𝐿𝐸𝑉𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅  𝑀𝑈𝑆𝐼𝐶.

not  to  mention,  their  reputation  definitely  precedes  them  that  the  likes  of  𝑇𝑅𝐸𝐸  𝐻𝑈𝐺𝐺𝐸𝑅,  𝐶𝑂𝑊𝐵𝑂𝑌  𝐺𝑅𝐸𝐸𝑇𝐼𝑁𝐺,  and  𝑈𝑅𝐵𝐴𝑁  𝑀𝑌𝑇𝐻  would  be  more  than  happy  to  work  alongside  them...

and  lastly,  𝑅𝐸𝑉𝐸𝑅𝑆𝐸  𝐸𝑁𝐺𝐼𝑁𝐸𝐸𝑅  was  a  scientist  in  part  of  the  xerox  revision,  which  𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻  𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅  participated  in.  they've  done  all  the  grunt  work,  similar  to  №2  𝑃𝐸𝑁𝐶𝐼𝐿  and  worked  their  way  to  the  top.  but  during their time as a  "grunt,"  what  experiments  had  they  participated  in  that  they  aren't  proud  of?

while we understand that one of the hardest parts of this process for applicants is the waiting, we'd feel bad doing that in a publicly available list. some of these choices are going to be very difficult because everyone worked so hard and we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings 😟
