#genuinely would love to know how to write things that are not constantly at least like 20k long jdfkngd#fic i have coming out soon for kinkfest went from 9k to 15k to 17k#and with 17k i was like ok alright. lotta boning happening here. that is fine#but i spent all day editing it just because i have to suuuper meticulously reread what i've rewritten or else there's an obvious error#every few words that i completely miss when i'm just skimming through it#and then i just saved it and it went up to 21k?? girl how the HELL#i'd blame my love for stream of consciousness and flowery language for my downfall but i've ready plenty of others#who love to pepper in a good amount of detail and exposition and still don't end up w word counts like mine on every oneshot#even my pwp pieces are novels like i just want to be satisfied telling my tales with less words so i can publish more often#and not have to scramble with every fest i sign up for#alex talks
