Another entry for firecracker Kuea's inner thoughts leaking out~ Yet again color-coded for ease of understanding, as follows: Kuea, Lian, polite, impolite, particles

เฮีย จะทำอะไรอ่ะ อย่าเข้ามานะ /Hia, ja tam a rai a? yaa khao maa na/ = Hia, what are [you] doing? Don't come any closer!

ครับ หายไปใหน เดี๋ยวนี้หนูเกื้อพูดจากับเฮียไม่มีหางเสียง¹เลยนะ /"khrap" haai bpai nai? diiao nee nuu Kuea puut jaa gap Hia mai mee haang siiang loei na/ = Where is [your] polite ending particle? You speak to me so curtly/informally¹ these days.

มันใช่เวลามาสนใจไหมวะ ไอ้เฮี้ย² /man chai weh laa maa sohn jai mai wa, ai hia/ = Is this really the time to care about that, you dick²?

หนูเกื้อพูดว่าอะไรนะ /nuu Kuea puut waa a rai na/ = What did you say?

¹ พูดจาไม่มีหางเสียง /puut jaa mai mee haang siiang/ = speak without (ending) particles, speak curtly -> Particles are words that hold meaning and serve a function but generally don't fall under any other grammatical category. หางเสียง /haang siiang/ literally means 'tone tail' and thus refers to sentence-final particles, specifically, of which there are many in Thai. Speaking properly/appropriately involves using the right ones for the right occasion and context because all of them express the speaker's feelings, intention, relationship to the listener etc. In this clip, we hear three different ones:

นะ /na/ = polite, used to soften, to state/ask/request, to plead etc.

ครับ /khrap/ = polite, respectful, typically male, often pronounced as คับ /khap/ informally; this is what Kuea should use with Lian, elders, strangers, people of higher status etc.

วะ /wa/ = informal, impolite, familiar; this is okay for Kuea to use with his friends and age mates

² ไอ้เฮี้ย /ai hia/ -> Thai is a tonal language and the only difference between the usual Hia เฮีย and this เฮี้ย /hia/ is just that. By pronouncing it in high tone, it becomes another pronunciation/spelling for เหี้ย /hia/, which is a rude insult along the lines of asshole, dick, shithead, son of a bitch- take your pick lol. If it was only ไอ้เฮีย /ai Hia/, it would be questionably rude enough - ไอ้ /ai/ is acceptable to use for people of equal or younger age that you're familiar with, e.g. Kuea callis Diao ไอ้เดียว /ai Diao/, but otherwise it's rude and used for cursing as in ไอ้เฮี้ย/ไอ้เหี้ย /ai hia/ = asshole, etc.

We see this flip-flopping between how Kuea's been taught to speak vs. how his inner voice talks apparently lol again in this ep. 7 scene, for example:

ของใครอ่ะเฮีย ของเฮียหรอครับ /khaawng khraai a, hia? khaawng hia raaw khrap/

อยู่ในบ้านเฮียก็ต้องเป็นของเฮียสิ /yuu nai baan hia gaaw dtaawng bpen khaawng hia si/

เออวะ ... ขอโทษครับเฮีย เกื้อตื่นเต้นไปหน่อยอ่ะ /uuhr wa ...khaaw thoht khrap, hia! Kuea dteuun dten bpai naawy a/ = Oh, yeah. ...Sorry, Hia! (apologizing for speaking impolitely just now) I'm a little too excited.
