Finnish national team player and HV71 captain Sanni Hakala was severely injured in a collision with a goal post during a Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) match last month. The accident left her paralyzed from the chest down, ending her ice hockey playing career and presenting many new challenges.
If you are able, please donate to the GoFundMe established in her name to help cover her extensive medical expenses. The fundraiser is in Swedish krona (kr or SEK), which is easily converted to US dollars (US$1 ≈ 10kr) or Euros (1€ ≈ 11kr).

Then the current coach Jeglertz can be added. He coached Umeå IK in their golden era with players like Marta, Hanna Ljungberg, Hanna Marklund, Frida Östberg, Caroline Jönsson, a young Lisa Dahlkvist, Sofia Jakobsson, Bachmann and Elaine in the squad. He then became head coach for Finland wnt and assistant coach for Canada wnt before he came to Linköping.
And of course Denise Reddy who's been a coach for Linköping twice and not to forget Martin Sjögren.
It is quite surreal the talent that’s been through, wonder what they put in the water up there to make them develop that much
Spotted this highlights with english commentary from the floorball world cup semi final between Sweden and Switzerland yesterday. The way our wnt is introduced by the commentator 😅 It was good to see this young swiss wnt has raised their level and is now able to challenge us. Last championship we defeated them 14-1 or something...

Final is played today against floorball arch rivals Finland who've had one more day of rest. We're defending champions and could win our ninth world cup title in a row. Won't be easy, it's always hard fought tough matches against the finnish
Noooo I didn't want it to be between Sweden and Finland for the 5th place and stay in the A-world cup 😭 but of fucking course we ended up having to play each other like the Magda vs Pernille last decisive qualifier in the group for the 2019 world cup 😂
We actually did way way better against Canada than I'd thought. What an incredible match with a last seconds 2-2 equaliser forcing Canada into overtime sudden death. We haven't been close to make them nervy in a very very VERY long time in a championship. To play like this against Canada on their home turf is an incredible feat. I feel like our ice hockey wnt is on the up again after years down in the dumps
Finland has gone downhill past few years with womens ice hockey... Sad to see that. 🫠
Denmark Vs Finland was a great game to watch both teams played well and the atmosphere was amazing both sets of fans were loud and singing , going to watch a game of football is just happiness ❤️🇩🇰🇫🇮💙
A standing ovation for HV71 player Sanni Hakala before puck drop at Husqvarna Garden ❤️ The SDHL team captain was paralyzed from the chest down after an accident during a match in November 2023
For the anon wondering about Jeglertz he coached Umeå IK for 5 years from January 2004 to December 2008. Umeå was the most dominant team in Sweden during the 2000's. They had players in the squad like a teenage Marta, a teenage Bachmann, Hanna Ljungberg, Hanna Marklund, Frida Östberg, a teenage Sofia Jakobsson and a teenage Lisa Dahlkvist. He has coached all of them.
Jeglertz won 4 league titles with Umeå in that time. In 2004 he lead Umeå to their second consecutive Women's Cup title (the predecessor to UWCL) and iirc they reached the final in 2005 and 2006. They played like 5 finals and won 2. He also led them to a Swedish Cup title in 2007.
He's been head coach for Finland wnt for 7 years from January 2010 to December 2016 and assistant coach for Canada wnt for 2 years and 1 month from January 2019 to January 2021. He became Linköping's head coach in January 2021 and will be their coach for 6 more games before the league goes on summer break. Probably will train the players who are not playing the World Cup until end of his contract, unless it's been agreed he'll leave the club earlier.
A little information for the anon (and everyone else)
Meanwhile in swedish winter sports, we started out the world cup season premiere in Finland with a gold and silver medal in the cross country skiing sprint competition.
And our curling mnt will meet Scotland in the euro after a highly dramatic semi final against Italy, while our wnt right now play the bronze medal game against... Norway 😂
