It took some serious fiddling to find how I wanted to make it but once I got it down, it was a fun, simple, fast project. I love how it came out. I got one more thing I want to try re:these hats, but I'm proud of how I can really take an idea then make a pattern out of it. I wrote up my patterns and might put them up in my etsy shop and get that running again.

However I think it's really cute, especially with this yarn which is super soft. I'm going to try for my original idea again but this was fun and fast. I'm going to write up the pattern soon.

#flameycrafts #crochet #zebrablanket My prototypes are complete. I got a finished horse ear design and a hood for sizing purposes. I also figured out how I want to do the mane. I got my yarn for the lion blanket, so I'm focusing back on that again but I'm glad I filled in my time without yarn so well. When I get started on the zebra blanket I will be ready to go right from the start.

#flameycrafts #crochet #day5 It's July now which means it's my birth month(July 26th) . I'm a Leo and I've been wanting to adapt the hooded animal blanket patterns by @mjsoffthehook into my own design. As such, as a birthday present for myself, I am going to make a lion hood blanket with my own twist. First thing though, is the hood. I cut the yarn use in half and that means I have to adapt the hood to be the same size without using thicker yarn. This is actually the third hood from scratch. Each hood had me working on it then frogging it to try another adaptation. I love how it's coming out though. Hopefully I'm back with my crochet.

#flameycrafts #crochet #lionblanket #day9 I was busy the past few days. This is row 40 which means I'm officially 1/3rd of the way done. 20 more rows and I will know how much yarn this will take. I also finally bought my yarn for the lion skin, so I was able to make the ears, toes and pads. BTW, doing that much magic circles HURT. My finger is still red and sore from me tightening the yarn so much. But I had to make enough parts for my blanket and Kevin's new scoodie. But I think it's coming out great. Now for more blanket crocheting

#flameycrafts #crochet #lionblanket #day7 It took all day but I crocheted 15 rows yesterday (and used up another skien). I'm now a quarter of the way through the blanket.

#flameycrafts #crochet #lionblanket #day6 I got more yarn! This is 1/6th of the blanket done. At this rate, I could use up to 8 more skiens but it's turning out great. It's on row 20. At row 60 I will start the decrease. I love how relaxing the stitch is. I'm having a lot of fun.

#flameycrafts #crochet Lion blanket is paused again because I'm out of yarn (and TWO stores I went to were sold out) but this gives me time to design the zebra blanket I'm trying to make next. Designing my own horse ears (which is probably similar to others but I'm not following a pattern.) looking good but needs to be bigger.

#flameycrafts #crochet #crochetbag #crochettote #totebag I've been dragging around this ugly tote bag to work to work on crochet on breaks but I wanted something nicer. So I crocheted a bag with my spare yarn then sewed the original tote in as a lining. It took me almost exactly a week and came out great. I'm thrilled to have something so nice to take places and work on crochet.

#flameycrafts #crochet #scissorholder I've been taken a tote to work lately so I can crochet on my down time. But I noticed I had some cuts in the bottom and I think it's from my scissors that I leave loose because I use them a lot but also are super sharp. I decided to crochet a holder for them that can keep them easy to grab but less likely to cut. Also it can hold my plastic bag where I keep my stitch counters and yarn needles. This will be extra nice when I eventually crochet myself a nicer looking tote to take to work.
