When he finally returned, he settled in a grove where Fluttershy's house had been, clutching her shield in his arms.

To retrieve the Shield of Kindness, the trial is simple. You must convince its guardian to part with it. You cannot force it from him, for he is far more powerful than any pony alive. No, you must show kindness to a creature that's said to be incomprehensible.
