[ARTICLE] BC, DIMENSIONS, AND GOLD STAR ANNOUNCED AS SPONSORS OF SEOUL SPRING FESTIVAL

The Seoul Spring Festival was announced earlier in the year by the local government as a city-wide event taking place from March 30th to April 5th. The city of Seoul will be hosting a number of events over the course of the week, as will private businesses.

Recently, it was announced that entertainment companies BC Entertainment, Dimensions Entertainment, and Gold Star Media will all be sponsoring the festival in part and the idols on each company’s roster will be performing at one of two concerts hosted during the run of the festival. Tickets to the live concert events will cost ₩30000 each and fans unable to attend the live event can access an official live stream of both concerts for ₩15000.

ADMIN NOTES:

The time has come for our next drop event! In something of a spiritual successor to our 2018 Busan Summer Festival event, this is a week-long event in-’verse with several different varied opportunities for interactions.

Everyone under the three companies will be required to participate in their respective concert part of the festival barring extenuating circumstances such as major injury or illness. It must be cleared with the admin if you want your muse to have a plot that will keep them from participating in that portion of this event. Public activities for the event as well as the Pink Party are entirely optional both in and out of character, while the other private and semi-private activities (the cocktail party, the art exhibition, and the charity gala) will be considered optional out of character, but you’re welcome to say your muse was forced to attend by management in-character for the sake of interactions.

Activities marked “semi-private” will be open to only a select guest list, not the public, but some press may be present. Activities marked “private” will be open to a very select guest list and no press will be present.

EVENT DETAILS:

The Seoul Spring Festival takes place in-universe from March 30th to April 5th.

A number of events will take place in Seoul over the span of the week, from fun public events designed to heighten everyone’s spirits to exclusive, private events only the country’s most in-demand citizens such as celebrities and the wealthy have access to. As sponsors of the event, all three companies have allowed their idols some leeway in their schedules to participate in the festival even in their down time.

Muses will have a variety of required schedules throughout the week, but in their downtime, they’re also allowed to spend some time at the festival on their own as long as they follow the normal rules of staying on their best behavior in public. Any music shows taking place on the days of the festival can be assumed to either not interfere with what can be done that day or will be pre-recorded at a more convenient in the morning.

Outside of scheduled events, during the week of the festival, there will be sales at local shops and restaurants and smaller, special spring-themed events at cafes and parks.

The beginning and end of the festival will each be marked with a concert, for which each performer will be dressed in colors and cuts to suit the spring season. The concert set lists and styling can be found HERE.

CHOICE ACTIVITIES:

There are open events on the schedule listed below open to individual muses. This Google Form has been set up for muns to submit for the activity of their choice. At the time of posting, this will be open to one muse per mun only. All spots will be first come-first served from the time the event post goes up since choice activities will not have major career effects.

Keep in mind that canonically, companies would have final say in where their idols are scheduled, so you can request activities that your muse wouldn’t enjoy doing! These are completely optional, but can give you situations to write solos or threads about.

OVERALL:

In game, this event takes place Monday, March 30, to Sunday, April 5, but threads and other posts for this event may be started from Monday, March 23, at the time this post goes up, to Sunday, April 19, at 11:59PM EDT. Threads may be continued past the end date if needed, but must be started before then. Non-event related interactions may of course be conducted during this time as well.

it had been an unfortunate incident really, having someone bump over her and spill half their glass of wine over her dress and while minah had gently assured the person that it had been no trouble and that they shouldn’t worry too much about is as it has been a simple accident, she couldn’t say the wet fabric sticking to her skin was very comfortable, or that she didn’t mourn the fact that her dress was ruined.

“hey sorry, you think you could hand me a few of those napkins?” she asked the first person she came across at at the bar, pointing at the napkin holder right beside them. “i’m trying to salvage whatever i still can.” a gentle sigh escaped her. “i hope it won’t stain too bad, i’d hate to have to throw this dress away by the end of the night.”

jaein finds it odd to be placed at a charity gala when she feels like she’s done nothing charitable. she’s mostly here to donate her status as an idol and gather attention for other higher ups, but she can’t help but feeling uncomfortable. she’s standing around some round table with a glass of champagne in her hands that’s untouched because it’s all for the show anyway. 

“i think if i finally pay back all my debt and get enough money, i’d donate to an organization that supports single mothers,” she comments to nobody in particular. it’s always been something on the back of her mind, but she still has her own trainee debt to pay back. six years accumulated to a lot of costs that even lucid’s recent success couldn’t live up to. “what about you? have you ever thought about donating? or perhaps you already have, and in that case maybe i’m just not checking the news enough.”

Mapo, Seoul - Food Tasting Festival

Jiwon didn’t find much enjoyable these days, staying home whenever her company didn’t have her scheduled for anything. Whether or not staying home was a cover-up from going out alone into the public again or was what she preferred was a mystery. Either way, she was used to the feeling of being alone when she wasn’t in the comfort of her group. The familiarity of the silence was familiar didn’t stop the desire of a friend at times like this. At least there would be someone to distract her from her thoughts. With a sigh, her eyes scanned the area, moving from different food stalls when she saw a familiar face. Sooah was one of the members of Fuse, a group Jiwon had followed since their debut. Countless of broadcasts fell victim to her fangirling, so it’s widely known that Jiwon wanted to become friends with Fuse, especially Sooah. However, no development had been made in that, as neither had bothered to engage in a conversation. However, none of those facts mattered, as there was an opening for her to change that. Fueled by determination and the lack of press, she decided to approach Sooah, hoping to catch her eye before reaching her by waving.

art, a subject for fools drowning in their wealth and idealistic image of elegance. contemporary art was the pinnacle, crowding together flocks of phone intellectuals seeking the novel pieces to cling to their living room walls. they were the victims that equated the grandeur of the piece to the zeros attached to the price tag, and pieces of art were nothing more than a mere accessory adding to their growing collection of rare crocodile birkins and lavish cow-hide boy bags. it was the propaganda for the modern day rich customers, a flea market for them to oust one another to see who could scrape their way to the peak of the mountain as korea’s next top gangnam mom.

the whole exhibit is a ploy for gold star to constitute a more positive image on minjung after a heeding, destructive wave of criticism followed the first few instagram posts of her art - a manipulation to pivot her persona into the brooding artist, like a modern day basquiat trapped in confines of a van gogh society. she’s at the mercy of her company, bound by the strings of her contract like pinocchio except her stagnant nose provides no insight to her silent protests and reservations. the champagne flute intertwined in her slender fingers embody her chirpy cricket sidekick, the taste of the cheap champagne and sweet raspberries lingers in the back of her tongue, a reminder that everything bitter must have a sweet companion - the thought that fixes the glazed smile on her lips.

there’s a shadow of another person next to her, like a meager bystander, settling down, observing the passerbys as she takes another sip of the golden liquid. no eyes directed to this area, and a yawn escapes her lips, her heavy eyes and tight lipped mouth disregarding any hint of feigned interest for the entirety of the exhibit. “all this art is so ‘je ne sais quoi’ says the lifeless bodies in the room. people have such refined taste, dipping their frenchie fries in a sauce of horse shit, but what do you think captain?”  her lips curve into an inviting smile, finding her own blue fairy for the night.

"ah, taste this." jiyoo held the small plate of snacks that she had out to the other idol. if there was a day she wasn't going to miss during the festival, it was going to be the food tasting. something she woke up early for. jiyoo arrived when it first started and she had been having a time of it.

"oh, you should go to this other booth too-" then she had to force herself to calm down and relax. offering, a half apologetic smile at how excited she was. "i'’m sorry..i just love food...so i got a little ahead of myself but really, it's all good..i think i like the stuff from the other booth better. have you been here long?" after that little tacked on bit, jiyoo forced herself to stop talking so the other could get a word in.

he’s been told by chae not to be too conspicuous when coming out to the cherry blossom festival, just so that they could spend some quality time together out in the open, without having to worry too much about strange looks and gossip articles that rumour over celebrity relationships like bees to honey, and dojun quietly finishes off his overall look for the festival with a mask securely around his face, putting on sunglasses and wrapping a scarf around his neck, on top of a wide trench coat and a purposefully slouching figure, even though winter was just about fading away and spring was slowly taking its place. it would be cold but yet not too cold--a good degree of 17 degree celsius made his dressing with a hat, mask, trench coat, scarf and gloves a perfect getup for someone trying to hide from the crowd.

or so he thinks. jun doesn’t notice the whispers or the curious stares that follow his way each time he shuffles in the festival, his mask hot against his face as he peered around for any trace of chaeyeon. he spots her easily enough, and excitement clearly arises within the contours of his hidden features as he waves, making his way over to her as quickly as he could through the crowd with his bulky coat and get up. “chae.” he grins, eager to grasp her hand loosely even amongst the crowd milling about them. “see--like you said, inconspicuous.”

sung didn’t care for fashion as much as gold star wanted him to. he did like fashion, these days, but he never wanted to base part of his career around it. though he understood the business model behind having him dip into the fashion world, it didn’t get rid of the slimy feeling beneath his skin from being decked out in largely overpriced dior clothing.

the fashion show earlier was quite nice. at least there was that.

he found himself wandering around the cocktail party, drink in hand. despite drinking, on occasion, he still wasn’t sure what the cocktail he’d been offered was. considering he felt more at work than he had at the fashion show itself, sung wasn’t planning on drinking it, either, so he supposed it didn’t matter what it was.

when his eyes landed on the familiar face of an idol, he approached. “hi, would you like this?” sung held out the drink in his hand. “i promise it’s not poison.” his eyebrows furrowed. “that makes it sound like it’s definitely poison, doesn’t it? um-- sorry.” on the balls of his feet, eyes wide, energy ran through him again, balled into effort to fix his mistake. “uh, it got handed to me, by a waiter. i... i don’t even know where to get poison.”

           he was a bit excited to be performing that day, to say the least. he was always a huge fan of performing and doing it on your own always gave a different sort of rush. he was a bit more excited because bc entertainment wanted him to perform his portal single, 30sexy. it was going to be rather interesting to transitation from beautiful goodbye to 30sexy, something that was going to most likely be a bit of a surprise. 

he was moving through the backstage areas, as he was perparing to go on stage. however, it wasn’t time for him to go up quite yet, even though he was going to be third up to perform. nonetheless, he stood there, awaiting for the time for him to go up, watching the stage from where he was standing. he could feel a persence near him, before looking upon who it was. a smile placed against his lips, “ah, kami! hello, sunbae!” he said, giving her a bow. they’re friends, but duri always had the habit of contining to use formalities. “it’s been a while, how have you been?”

it was pretty. if there was one thing nari could say, it was pretty. maybe being forced to come wasn’t all bad. once she got here, she was left alone for the most part. and today didn’t seem to be any different, she had walked away from the group at some point, pulled a mask over her face as she moved in and out of the crowd. it wasn’t until she had got to a nice little spot by the lake that she pulled down the mask and just took everything.

then came the photos of the cherry blossoms. she didn’t have a nice camera but she tried get the most pleasing photo’s she could with her cell phone camera. when that was finished, nari took a few photos of herself but it wasn’t good enough. she wanted a nice wide shot. “hey!” she tried not to shout too much, she only wanted to draw the attention of the idol she saw and not everyone within a good enough distance. “would you mind taking a photo for me? i want to get a nice of shot of standing by the lake.”

"i feel oddly uncomfortable." kami didn't mind stating it since she was in familiar company. and familiar company meant one of her fellow idols and not a non-celebrity. ( she could only image the gossip that would follow that. ) "i mean, i'm styled all pretty and everything but i'm not used to this type of setting." in fact, she wouldn't have come here if not for the urging of her manager. in her opinion, her entire image didn't fit something like a gala. ( even if it was for charity. )

what could she do? she was here now, instead she sighed and raised the glass of wine to her lips. there was a moment of silence before spoke again. "how about you? are you having a pretty good time?" even if she wasn't, someone should.

it was only natural, in jiseok's opinion, that he had gotten acquainted with the members of his younger sister's group over time – and not only because he wanted to make an effort to be present in her life as much as possible despite the demanding career paths they had chosen for themselves, but also because he was older, both in years and in experience, and thus felt a sort of responsibility as wish's senior to be kind to them.

hence it didn't seem weird to him at all that the person he had asked to accompany him to the food tasting festival was rina. what better way to take care of a junior than to treat them to food, right? “did you get here alright? there weren't any fans crowding you or anything?”, he asked almost immediately after greeting her. needless to say, he was not a particularly formidable conversationalist.

attending the party had been an impulse decision really. jaewon wasn’t one for social gatherings, especially not those where he didn’t know the majority of people but sitting around the dorm was making him feel restless, making this the better alternative. it had been a little tricky, finding something in jaewon’s dark-toned closet that suited the dress code of white and pink but he had succeeded and there he was, at the party with two drinks in his hands.

two, not because jaewon was particularly feeling like he wanted to drink his feelings away or something but because he was looking for a familiar face that he, for a fact knew to be present at the party. yul had loudly announced so back at the dorm upon departure after all. as he found the younger, he nudged him gently with his elbow before holding both glasses of wine out to him. “white or rose your pick, i don’t know what you prefer.” he said casually like it wasn’t a surprise that he had shown up here in the first place, leave alone to bring yul alcohol. “did i miss out on anything interesting so far? i just got here.”

Samsoo didn’t get many opportunities to spend time with his close friends, apart from Unity that is. With everything that Dimensions had Unity doing and with a lot of his close friends being idols themselves, it was hard finding a common ground for the both of them to meet up with one another. That was a big part of the reason as to why he was thankful for the Spring Festival that was happening. Even though he still had obligations to his company, a lot of his time was free for him to do as he pleased, so of course he decided to spend that time with one of his closest friends - Hyeju. “Are you going to finish that?” He asked from his spot seated next to her on the bench, balling up the wrapper his own food had come in. “It’s really good.. Are you not hungry?” He asked, his eyebrows furrowing.

Setting: Concert Date: March 30th, 2020

Daisuke wouldn’t and couldn’t say that he hated the songs that CHARM released. He had helped write a good portion of them, and he thought that the rest of the group and the writers they worked with did an excellent job at creating music that would collectively be good for the group as a whole. That being said, a lot of their more recent title tracks weren’t particularly his cup of tea. He didn’t hate them exactly, he just hadn’t really enjoyed a title track since they had released ‘Oh My!’, which had been over a year ago. Home, Hit and Fear were alright songs, he didn’t hate them, but.. He did find himself zoning out when they had to perform those songs. He would start the song and then before he knew it, the song was over. Which probably wasn’t a horrible thing, all things considered. He hoped that the performances that day went by as quickly as they usually did for him. “Hey,” he called out to Yuanjun, who was rushing past him, doing wherever it was that he did while they were backstage waiting to perform. “Fix your collar, it’s all flipped up in the back.” His large hands came up and started adjusting the younger male’s shirt.

there’s physical parallelisms that tie the two females together, yet there’s a blatant contrast that divides the intrinsic personalities of the two. old sayings set in - years of childhood friendship aren’t able to be washed away like grains of sand along the shore; time is an anchor, that tethers the two together in a deeper bond that transcends the shallow waters. there are times where joo feels like a brick wall of frustration, unable to be unhinged from her own passive waters that have trickled through the years, yet minjung’s managed to hammer her way past her own reservations, a tool box of tricks, that’s allowed her to maintain the friendship over the years.

"hey, neighborhood ajumma,” her hands, covered with smudges of black ink, shuffle through her backpack, nestling away her sketchbook and pens back into her run-down black backpack - a way to kill the boredom and time as she’s cornered to the festival grounds with nowhere to run to. she slings the backpack across one shoulder as she stands up, tapping out the wrinkles in her black paint-splattered jeans that are evidently two sizes too big for her slim frame. "so many lovers dazed in hues of pink. i’ve decided to bottle up man tears of broken hearted men and market as big dick energy drink.” her words - blase, untouched as if she were situated in a meeting filled of business officials; it was a nuance that she had been poised with since she was a child, an oddity of words flowing out of her mouth with a disregard for the time and place. “tell me what you’ve been doing while i was away. i’ll await with wide eyes and a slightly gaped mouth.” a glance onto her old friend and the look in her eyes soften, curving her lips into a grin.
