I like all metal but there's a very specific kind of hyper-theatrical subgenre that I absolutely LOVE and I'm just now realizing that it only started popping up after Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera became a cultural phenomenon in 86-87. I need to research this some more but I think I'm onto something.
