That’s right. I called him a horse’s patoot bc he’s been a naughty boy with his surgery recovery. Two more weeks of antibiotics & a healing cream for this silly man bc he’s made a mess out of the incision site. How he got past the e-collar is beyond me, but he’s now sporting a mega collar instead. Today was a recheck and bandage change for Andy, so Devin also went for a weight check. Ya’ll...dude weighs 71lbs now!! He was 44 when we pulled him! 😮 No longer emaciated is he! 😆 We’ll be starting him on prednisone for his heartworm treatment at the end of the month, so I wanted to make sure of his weight. So happy he’s filled out and healthy now! (Fine. He may need to loose 2lbs...or 4...or...but he looks so handsome!) As for Andy, the toe looked really good but they replaced his bandage with another since there’s so much pressure on the foot. We’ll head back Friday to remove that one. So both things turned out great! And of course they were oooh’d and awwww’d upon. Good job Alfie!! #Repost @kitbevan ・・・ Something I think is super fun about fostering (or adopting!) dogs in their golden years is gaining a little bit of insight into their former lives when they casually start showing off their bag of tricks. I had no idea that Alfie knew how to sit on command until a Pet Valu employee asked him to. Later, when I asked Leeza to sit and lie down, Alfie did too. He saved "shake" for a later day, but I was impressed nonetheless. Now that he knows his (new) name, he has pretty good recall as well. I certainly didn't teach him any of that, but someone did!
