🎥✏️ - [Crack Art Tutorial] Matrix LED/Screen/Display Face tutorial - ✏️🎥
Alright, I wanted to make this tutorial as I have never seen any good tutorials for them, and as someone who recently found a good way to intimidate such!
Note I am not a good Teacher- I suck at explaining lmao! But this should work in any program that has Tone/Dots or Alpha/Masking features!
Before we get into it let me give you a brief rundown on how a Matrix LED looks or works! I choose Matrix LEDs as they are common for characters. Usually, they also are called Pixel panels but since I love going into more technical specs.
This is what a Matrix Led Panel usually looks like and I recommend using such images as a reference when drawing as it can help with how big the LED lights are and on how big you need to set the settings.

Usually, these vary in size as they work with small LED lights that are all placed in rows together that produce well the said effect of a pixelated image, however, do not confuse them up with LCD (Liquid crystal displays). LCD screens usually can produce a sharper image as they have liquid crystals which are twice as small, as the name suggests instead of LED lights and they are "usually" not flexible. while a Matrix LED panel is! But beware there is also solid Matrix LED pannels for signs or other usages.
So to simplify the next process and give you knowledge. The bigger the lights the less sharp the given image looks on a screen face, however, the smaller the Led lights the sharper and better the image can be displayed but only to an extent!
So enough knowledge about screens, let's get into the tutorial.
1. Fill out the area where the screen goes with black!

2. Select a slightly lighter color and fill it in on a second layer!
Tumblr media
3. Set the second layer onto Tone! And play around until you have the desired effect, or it looks like something like this!
Tumblr media
4. Now create a third layer and alpha lock it onto the second layer! And then pick any color of choice and draw on the third layer until something like this comes out
Tumblr media
5. Add a 4th layer for the sharper features of the screen! Like a solid eye or shape of your choice!
Tumblr media
6. Once again select tone setting on the 4th layer but set a layer color that matches the color of the screen glow! Then play around with the tone settings until you have something like this!
Tumblr media
7. Have fun with this new knowledge I tried to give you! I want to say this can vary from canvas to canvas as the tone-setting can be size sensitive (At least in Clip studio)! Sometimes you need to play around with the settings, and on how you want the screen to look? As said this is just the way I do it as I think it looks very neat and easy! You can add effects like screen lines or RGB split to make it seem more realistic! But thanks for reading and I hope this helped, If you still have questions then let me know!
