Trocci's Auto Sales in West Pittsburgh PA
Businesses that use the internet as a facade
I don’t post on my website often enough, but my experience with Trocci’s Auto Sales in West Pittsburgh, PA has driven me to do so.
Shout out to all my friends who post on here from time-to-time, even more regularly than I.
$3000 and under falsehood in West Pittsburgh, PA
3000andunder.com. That is their website. So, you would think that this is the customer base they cater to….WRONG!!
They also go by trocciautos.com, both under the umbrella of carsforsale.com
What is the falsehood, exactly?
Most people around West Pittsburgh PA believe the falsehood is that it is hard to find a car under $3000 and Trocci’s.
They are correct. Trocci’s has, allegedly, 3 overflow lots whose location they refuse to share. That’s what they say…but where are these cars? On the only lot open to the public, there are very few.
Most people also say you used to be able to trust Trocci’s when the father owned it.
Local residents go on to say that the sons are “shady” and several other terms.
My experience is that they are arrogant, and that if you are looking for $3000 and under, you are simply ignored. Mind you, this isn’t one experience. I have tried to get attention via more than a dozen in-person visits as well as a couple dozen vehicle inquiries and via phone…..NOTHING.
The falsehood is the direct implication of their website domain and motto ($3000 and under).
The implication is that is their business, when it is not. Sure, maybe if I begged and pleaded more, or if I just said “hey, give me anything and I will pay it right now….here take my cash”…maybe that would work. I don’t think so. That’s practically what I did…cash in hand.
Maybe they see me as too poor for their time.
Full disclosure: I am very 50, short, have a beard, and always arrive either on my motorcycle or driven by a friend. Maybe I remind them of someone they hate. I don’t know. They have never spoken to me.
Safety issue reign supreme in the inventory
Request VIN numbers from them via their parent carsforsale.com. Look up the in on the free NHTSA website. PLEASE do this and save yourself serious injury. They should disclose open recalls, especially those that are serious safety issues….they do not.
If this is not a used-car scam lot, what is???

Well, the experience is a down-hill spiral.
As soon as I told them I wanted something for $3000 or less, all customer service stopped. And “3000andunder” is their motto and their website domain!!!!!
Trocci’s refuses to return phone calls or emails. Mind you, these emails are through their website. They promise prompt reply, but nothing. I stop by to speak with a salesperson again and again, and I am simply ignored. OK, Tom and Alyssa spoke with me, but they have to go through the “sons”, and they have their noses too high in the air.
Be VERY WARY of Trocci’s. Do your homework, and realize that they have no caring for customer service or quality whatsoever.
I discovered that they DO NOT INSPECT the majority of their vehicles, so do your homework. Of course, get a mechanic to look at it, as long as it is not Matus or the garage next door, because they are partners. Do a freeVIN check with NHTSA.org where you will find that the majority of their vehicles have serious and life-threatening open recalls (non-fixed).
Tom and Alyssa are very nice. The others….you’re just in their way if you are a customer.
The good reputation they once had was due to their father, when the business was theirs.
Alright, so they have a booming business, and gobble up the used car inventories, so they have a corner on the market. They even allegedly have 3 other lots, although they refuse to share their location. But is this a reason to treat others as inferiors just because they don’t have enough money to buy the most expensive cars. Remember, their motto is “$3000 and under”, and remember that is just hype.
