From left to right:

This must have been taken during the Second Battle of El Alamein between October-November 1942, as Rommel did not meet von Thoma beforehand.

Von Thoma deserted to the British lines late into the battle, just as Rommel was debating whether to retreat or stand fast.

this is for @qserasera and anyone else currently watching logh who can’t keep track of all the fucking galactic empire dudes who work for reinhard. there are so many and they’re all prussian. here i will attempt to explain them so no one has to go on the wiki and get everything spoiled. personally, i find the fpa admirals and staff much easier to keep track of (because they’re not all white guys with german names), but i will happily make one of these for them if so desired.

i probably don’t need to include her, since her obvious identifying trait is “the only woman who works for reinhard,” but i’d feel bad about leaving her out because she is a delight. one of the smartest people in the show and very good at what she does, which is “telling reinhard to get his head out of his ass.”

 look at this sweet boy. just generally pleasant and good at his job. his nickname is “ironshield” and his flagship is perceval, so you should associate him with knights in shining armor. considered just one step below mittermeyer and reuenthal.

adalbert “who the fuck are you” von fahrenheit

has a weird character design and some people ship him with bittenfeld i guess. he was one of the guys who initially fought against reinhard and then ended up working for him, but that goes for like half the cast. flagship: asgrimm.

ernest mecklinger

no one needs help identifying mecklinger, his mustache and terrible hair do the job. he likes poetry and art and history and has a lovely baritone.

ulrich kesler

the chief of police, has sexy hair. i don’t know, he’s just kind of competent and serious and heterosexual.

ernst von eisenach

i keep forgetting this guy exists. remember his design by his big honking face and his character by the fact that he never talks. that’s his actual character trait, not my justification for forgetting about him. he never talks.

the head of the imperial guard. i know he looks generic from this headshot, but his uniform is different from everyone else’s, so it’s pretty easy to tell him apart.

yet another redhead on reinhard’s staff. he has kids and a prosthetic arm and is generally A Good Dude. not bittenfeld’s biggest fan.

These are some of my favourite photos of Bayerlein that I've found so far. I've recently started reading his biography, and one of the things mentioned in the first chapter was that young Fritz was considered to be very handsome, and many girls were swooning over him. He, however, was usually rather oblivious whenever they were trying to flirt with him🤭 In these photos he's already a bit older (presumably 43 years based on his date of birth in January 1899), but personally I still totally understand these women, he was indeed a very good-looking man ❤️‍🔥

This photo was taken sometime shortly after Rommel's epic capture of the port of Tobruk, late June 1942. Colonel Fritz Bayerlein (right) and German & Italian staff officers are also present.

The newly-promoted Field Marshal did not celebrate for long. He knew that the British were retreating, but if he didn't capture their veteran divisions and heavy equipment, they would slip away into British-controlled Egypt. This set the stage for the First Battle of El Alamein.

Erwin Rommel was one of the most able commanders of the World War II, his leadership of German and Italian forces in the North African campaign earned him the appellation of The Desert Fox. He is regarded as one of the most skilled commanders of desert warfare in the conflict. His Afrika Korps was never accused of war crimes, and Allied soldiers captured during his Africa campaign were reported to have been treated humanely. Recalling the soldiers and officers of the Afrika Korps, General Fritz Bayerlein offered the following: “The merit and value of the desert soldier can be measured by his physical capacity, intelligence, mobility, nerve, pugnacity, daring and stoicism. A commander of men requires these same qualities in even greater measure and in addition must be outstanding in his toughness, devotion to his men, instinctive judgement of terrain and enemy, speed of reaction and spirit.” -Here other post of Afrika Korps.

Peter Dennis Rommel, que llevaba un abrigo de cuero con una bufanda civil que le dio a su hermana, se reune con sus comandantes en el campo justo antes de la decisiva batalla de blindados del 12 al 13 de junio de 1942 en el puesto defensivo de Knightsbridge. El grupo en primer plano incluye a los generales Walther Nehring (con abrigo al lado de Rommel) y a Georg von Bismarck (a la derecha); con el Oberst Fritz Bayerlein explicando el plan (con el plano en las manos). hii! I figured I should make a post like this even though I have a feeling it will be like super messy xD

I've had an interest in history, specifically World War II basically since I was a kid. It was only recently though that I found out that there's a community for it! I've always had a thing with expressing my interests in ways that may seem slightly odd to other people, so it feels nice to see that there are others who seem to experience this in similar ways :3

I want to make it very clear that I am NOT a nazi or rightwing in any way, and I don't want actual (neo-)nazis to interact with my blog, get the fuck out! Similarly, I don't want racists, lgbtq-phobes, ableists, religious extremists, pedos & zoos or people of similarly disgusting kind to interact! I'm literally queer and neurodivergent (undiagnosed/suspected bc getting a therapy place is hard :/), this is not a place for you!

I've been a fan of the Downfall parodies on youtube when I was younger and recently relapsed into this fixation😭 I don't know if this fandom even really exists at this point since it seems that many creators have left in the meantime, but I'd love to talk about it, maybe I'll even get to write fanfics at some point. Also a short disclaimer that when I talk about historical figures that play a major role in the Downfall parody universe (such as Fegelein, Krebs, Burgdorf etc), it will usually be about their parody selves, not the real people! I'll try to clarify that individually if needed though.

I've also started lurking a little in the reichblr tag with a feeling that I'd describe as "indimidated fascination". Currently I'm mostly interested in some members of the Wehrmacht, but other historical figures that I had or have an interest in might come up as well. Overall any stuff that I post will probably go more into the lighthearted and humorous direction, but I'd love to bring in some more educational stuff as well.

I get crushes on fictional characters and sometimes historical figures too, but that doesn't mean I support, condone or defend their worldviews or actions in any way (this applies especially to real people of course)! These "crushes" usually stem from a place of fascination with who they were behind their public appearance, I want to know more about them as a private person, like their hobbies, favourite food and other mundane things like that. Often it's also simply that I feel physically attracted to their appearance because I think they're handsome, either that or they give me massive gender envy (or both lmao). I don't really control on who I fixate like that, it just happens, but I hope that this will be a place for me to express those feelings in some way and find like-minded people. Though I also want to point out that not all my fixations are automatically also crushes! Usually I will mention whether they are or not, or you'll probably notice based on what kind of posts I make about them lol.

Wilhelm Mohnke (ngl Downfall!Mohnke is kinda fine❤️‍🔥 ... idk maybe I'm just finding the actor hot though😭)

If I encounter things that make me uncomfortable I follow common fandom courtesy and block tags or blogs accordingly. This is nothing personal, I'm just curating my own online space. I don't want to see any harassment here, neither towards myself nor to others!

Anyway I guess that's it for now? Idk if this is any good as an intro post but for now it'll have to do I guess😂 I'm generally not really sure yet in which direction to go with this blog (should it be more Downfall or reichblr focused? is there a lot of overlap between the fandoms? do they even get along? help😭). I also don't know how active I'll be in general, I'm also constantly jumping between thoughts like "yee this is gonna be fun" and "dafuq am I doing here I should feel ashamed about myself" but I hope to meet people who share my interests :3
