as much as i still maintain that ko yurim’s behavior when she lost to na heedo at the asian games was both so unprofessional and so unsportsmanlike, i still can’t help but feel so bad for her. whereas heedo’s motivation for winning is intrinsically tied to some sort of self-fulfillment, fencing is LITERALLY yurim’s livelihood for both her and her family. and so her disgust and hatred towards heedo initially, while probably still somewhat rooted in pride as being korea’s fencing darling, is actually coming from a place of losing said livelihood while also be reminded of her dire circumstances and i can’t adequately put into words how messed up it is.

#twenty five twenty one #kdrama analysis #i don’t blame her for being so belligerent towards heedo at ALL #because she only has so much that she can call hers (being a gold champ or yijin etc.)#that when heedo begins to take these things away from her it’s like the biggest slap in the face #because it’s like…heedo’s financially stable like…why couldn’t yurim just HAVE this for once #a many people have probably delved into how well they foil each other so i won’t touch that #BUT YEAH KO YURIM DESERVES TO HAVE HER CUTESY PUPPY LOVE LAST AND BE SUCCESSFUL OKAY #AND IT’S OKAY THAT IT’S JUST A SOFT AND CUTE RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE LORD JESUS THIS GIRL HAS GONE THROUGH ENOUGH #i’m at the end of episode 8 and i literally remembered all the posts about the ending shitting on yurim’s relationship lasting and heedo’s #ending but like…#from what i’m seeing of heedo and yijin’s relationship so far it quite LITERALLY is not the paragon of relationships those weekly watchers #were chalking it up to be let me TELL YOU #my thoughts might change as i keep watching but heedo and yijin CANNOT stay on the same page for too long #and even if you continue to communicate if things just can’t line up the relationship is eventually going to collapse #alright that’s enough meta back to watching!
