a variety of fake flowers are spread across the table in the art room. it’s empty, joyce being the only one occupying it for now, waiting for gabe to show up. he looks the prettiest with flowers in his hair and a genuine smile on his face, she thinks. their friendship is one she holds dear to her heart and all she wants to do is protect him from everything that’s meant to cause harm. the girl is creating a crown for the boy to wear, and she’s almost finished, the creation full of pinks and purples. 

their friendship started with the blooming blossoms, joyce having been outside one day with them. gabe just. stopped by and asked to join and she didn’t object to the idea. after all, he seemed friendly enough and she always was up to making new friends. sighing, the memory is still very fresh in the princess’ mind. the sound of the classroom door clicking open causes her to jump out of her thoughts, spinning her head around to see who she’s waiting for, a smile spreading across her lips. 

“gabe, you came! look, i made you another flower crown because i know how much you love them. this one’s a bit different from the last one i gave you. what do you think?”
