#so i just learned that the protaganist of jkr's new book is visibly disabled#so like im realizing that the whole book is mostly likely her using the EXACT SAME playbook terfs use with lesbians and trans women#like in both cases it allows the outgroup (nondisabled ppl and cishets) to adopt a savioristic mentality#towards PART of the given maginalized community (disabled ppl and the queer community at large)#and while transphobes r almost always also homophobes#and the ppl that hate invisibly disabled ppl almost always also hate visibly disabled ppl#the saviorism the outgroup adopts allows them to cloak their hatred of all disability and gender nonconformity as progressive protection#furthermore in both cases the sham of saviorism is dependent on the 'saved's' own bigotry#like the LGB alliance is 90% straight but it would be NOTHING if it couldn't put transphobic cis LGB ppl front and center#i can't speak on whether or not there's antagonism and power dynamics between visibly disabled ppl and invisibly disabled ppl#but the success of this particular playbook is dependant in part on a lack of solidarity between different parts of a given community#like im not probaly saying anything new#but like idk#i guess its worth nothing
