one of the great tragedies of sam and dean to me is. sam's violent pit of self-loathing and desire for purity/perfection always pushing him to the brink of destruction. dean loving him so painfully, to the point of obssession - his brother's saviour yet frightened by his brother - doesn't know how to save sam from himself. his worst obstacle to loving and keeping sam safe is sam. so dean blames him for it! and in doing so just keeps feeding the monster living in sam's head telling him he's bad and rotten beyond saving. cue sam_marytrdom.exe

#did u ever just consider cradling your brother close and telling him he's good over and over dean #instead of agreeing with the little voice in his head constantly telling him he's Bad and needs to kill himself #genuinely glad the series didn't end at swan song bc that's a worst possible sam ending for me........#dean refusing to let sam play out his self-destructive behaviours through punitive control and punishment. because of love.#sam accepting dean's outward violence onto his own shoulders to show dean he accepts him as he is. because of love.#can't convince me otherwise #the real you is anything but good??#<- the truest expression of love from sam..bc that's what he needs to hear for himself too....#j.txt
