Gemstone Series: Ruby II, 90 x 120 cm, acrylic on canvas, 2020 Dikel’e göre değerli taşlar, değerlerini insanın kavramlar denizindeki değer kavramına yaptığı atıftan alıyor. İnsan hayatında ve evrende olanca görkemiyle etrafındaki ışığı çoğaltarak parlayan varlıklar, anlar, olaylar vardır. İnsanın bu değere, parıltıya olan tutkusu ve merakı ‘Cevher Serisi’nin çıkış noktasını oluşturuyor. Görkem Dikel, ‘Cevher’ serisinde, açığa çıkmayı bekleyen güç, işlevini bulmayı bekleyen potansiyel, ışığıyla dünyayı aydınlatacak cevher gibi düşüncelere gönderme yapıyor. Elmas, yakut, zümrüt gibi değerli taşların kapalı kompozisyonlar halinde soyutlandığı, dinamik ve pop bir biçim dili kullanılan bu seri, insanın içinde gizli olan, kendisi tarafından farkedilmeyi bekleyen sonsuz enerji ve yaratıcılık kaynağını düşündürmeyi amaçlıyor. Nitekim içine giren ışığı çoğaltarak yansıtan elmas veya yakut, doğanın ve insanın yaratıcı gücünün alegorisidir. #ENG According to Dikel, gemstones get their value through the attribution they make to concept of worthiness that already exists in human’s sea of concepts. In life and universe, there are beings, moments, incidents that shines with all their glory by multiplying the light around them. The passion and curiosity of human through these worthiness and shimmer is the source of ‘Gemstone Series’. In ‘Gemstone Series’ Görkem Dikel refers to facts like the power that is waiting to be revealed, the potential that is waiting to be accomplished and a gem which is about to enlighten the world with its light. This serie in which the gems like diamond, ruby, emerald were abstracted in tectonical compositions with dynamic and pop artistic language, aims to remind us the source of creativity and eternal energy which is waiting to be unraveled.
