No way, art post? in this blog?! insane!!!

well, yeah, it it, brace yourselves because from now on, every illustration or concept related to this AU will be shared here instead! Why? because it's taking me forever to finish the team lines and I wish to offer other stuff related to it until a new team artwork drops or smth.. Anyways, have sketches for various mothers in the series! I had these designs made few months prier, and while Miss Moiruppa and Dottie are based off/inspired by KOF character as per usual, the other two are original! sorta. Miss hydro was all me going on my artistic choice of making the most mama potter AU design ever, while Annie is a doggified version of Cheif Puddle's wife from the anime (which will get into in a bit)

anyways, here's some messy lore for each one of them:

(note that some of these ideas I just came up with right on the spot and is the subject of possible edit or complete change.)

+. Miss Moiruppa: -inspired by Saisyu Kusanagi- is Parappa's mother and the current leader of the moiruppa clan in Japan. After becoming the heir of the moiruppa clan, Miss has been placed in rather tight scheduled of training, managing and leading.. that until she we fed up with it, leading her to modernize the moiruppa heir system, leading to one of the most controversial decision by now; allowing overseas division of the clan, which is ruled by her sister. Miss displays very cocky and arrogant traits; like mother, like son. She's also a big fan of sake as evident by the bottle she carries around in her sleeves, which she would pull at the most random times; Doesn't mean she gets drunk though.

+. Miss Hydro: A humanoid flower with hydrokenis powers. She's Hana's mother and co-leader of the Hydro clan. Many describe her as the voice of reason, always calm and collective in the most dire situations, she also shows various lady-like manners, a trait that her young daughter mimicked since she was a child. However, behind all that tranquility is a woman eager for vengeance on the Hakkeshu clan, who ripped off her horn (it's the reason why she's pale in comparison to her daughter) and have taken the life of her previous family.

+. Dottie Lang: -based of Tung Fu Rue- A humanoid white rabbit who lives in the grand mountains ( a place far from Parappa town is) and master of Hakkyokuseiken. Dottie is very calm and wise, always thinking twice before talking and is always eager to offer her help to those in need. One day, blue feline couple dropped to her house and begged of her to look after her two children as they will return later to pick them up. The parents never return, pushing Dottie into playing the role of the "mother" for the two children.. who would grow up on latter years and continuously referring to her as "mother". she doesn't mind it, it warms her old heart in fact!

+. Annie Moiruppa: A humanoid dog from the Moiruppa clan and the mother of Marutake. when her sister was chosen as the next heir of the clan, Annie left japan, not out of sour not but, a positive one! as she went on a self-discovery journey around the world. her First stop lead her to Canada, where she met her first husband and have a child with him. unfortunately, their sweet bond that turned sour, forcing them to separate and leave -alongside her child- to another country. Later, Texas, where she ran her own dojo dedicated to the moiruppa fighting style. and it's also where she would meet her secondary husband and current partner, Puddles. she also runs a successful diner on the side, which helps on the financial requirement to keep the dojo up and running. Unlike her sister, Annie is very humble.

don't know if its been asked yet but Vesperia for the Tales of ask meme?

(For this ask!) It hasn’t!  And Vesperia was my favorite for the longest time for a lot of reasons (gameplay, story, characters, OST) until Zestiria came along and dethroned it.  It’s now my second favorite, but get ready.  This one’s a long one.

best girl?  Hmmmm, toss up between Rita and Estelle.  Rita, because I just generally love those super smart scientist/mage type characters in Tales, and Estelle because she’s so sweet and endearing and the game’s as much about her journey and desire to grow and see the world and finding her place in it as it is about the group saving the world.

best boy?  Yuri.  He runs on Rule of Badass and Rule of Cool and he’s currently my 4th favorite male Tales character.  (AKA he’s only beaten out by Mikleo, Sorey, and Leon, in that order.)

any ship/s?  None, actually.  I’m very much a “I see it but I don’t ship it” person when it comes to Vesperia and romantic ships.  Fluri and Ristelle I see, but don’t really ship, but don’t let that stop anyone from shipping them.  Brotps are everywhere though - Yuri and Karol (I love how Yuri mentors Karol and helps him to grow up and find his own place in the world), Yuri and Judith (the flirty banter amuses me, but I don’t ship them) . . . there’s a lot of that going on in this game.

favorite part of the game?  I love a lot of parts of the game, from Yuri’s -.- reaction to meeting Zagi, to Karol’s amazing stand in the ice floes against that monster, to saving Estelle, to Judith’s introduction, to Rita just being Rita in a lot of scenes, like her Fireball First Ask Later attitude to a lot of things early on lol . . . there’s a lot I love about Vesperia.  It’s another game I wish I could go back and revisit with friends.

opinion on the mascot character (if applicable)?  Most.  Badass.  Mascot.  Ever.  Like, Repede is both a mascot and a playable character, and he gets “doggified” versions of the classic Tales artes.  The arte names in the original Japanese are actually a pun, believe it or not, with kanji for “sword” replaced with the kanji for “dog”, and “ken” is an alternate reading for “dog”.  Plus, he’s one of the few characters (maybe even only playable character?) in Tales history that can No Sell Barbatos’s NO ITEMS EVERRRRRRR mystic with his Gale Dog arte, and I think that speaks volumes about Repede!  (Sorry, as manly and hilarious and badass Phoenix is, he’s got nothing on Repede as far as I’m concerned.  It’s probably one of the few things Zestiria didn’t take over lol.)

opinion on villain/s? (in the least spoilery way)  Duke is a classic Tales Well Intentioned Extremist Sympathetic Villain, Alexei I could have come to understand had he not completely crossed the line with what he did to Estelle (eat Fireballs, Alexei.  Eat.  More.  Fireballs.), Zagi . . . is Zagi and makes Lunarre seem sane, Barbos . . . I don’t entirely remember, but that fight against him was annoying.

main team of 4, and who did you play as mostly?  XBox: Yuri, Estelle, Rita, Repede. PS3 (mostly tagged along for post game): Flynn, Estelle, Yuri, Patty.  My friends played Yuri and Estelle for XBox and Flynn and Estelle for PS3 while my main characters were Rita and Patty.  The words: Blah blah blah, Violent Pain/Tidal Wave might have been heard more than just a few times (along with “This might sting a little!  *cue Thunder Blade crashing down on some idiot’s head*), and Patty had some amazing +luck gear and skills (thanks for doing all those side quests @katanagasuki!) so I was throwing out Resurrections and Revives and Time Stops like they were going out of style with her Gamble Cast arte, with the very often well-timed Marvelous Fountain, because we all love HP/TP recovery artes.

favorite town/city/area?  Dahngrest I always loved for the town theme and the stark contrast to Zaphias.  Actually, I just loved the contrast in Vesperia in general, and how you got to see how both sides of the coin lived (wealthy vs poor, empire vs guilds, etc).

favorite or most used arte?  Pretty sure for @katanagasuki that was Shining Fang for Yuri and (probably) Rising Phoenix (and then chained into Flynn’s fire Burst Arte) for Flynn given how many times I saw that go off.  Also loved Estelle’s downward (blue) Fatal Strike (lol huge-ass Pow Hammer).  For characters I personally played, Violent Pain, Tidal Wave, Thunder Blade, Demon’s Lance and Fireball on Rita, and Random Fall, Gamble Cast, and the entire “chef” chain of artes for Patty.  Rita’s Fireball is probably my favorite out of any Tales mage’s, because hers becomes incredibly TP efficient as you skill it up, as you get additional fireballs with proficiency, so yes, against certain bosses (*coughAlexeicough*) you can literally stagger them (until they overlimit anyway lol) with some coordination and team work.  It was beautiful when we pulled it off, and Alexei had no idea what hit him.  As for Patty, there’s nothing funnier than watching Random Fall go off and stunning a boss (read: Duke) in overlimit because a nabe pot went DONG! and landed on their head, lol.

favorite music track?  Oh dear, um, lots.  Vesperia’s pretty much my second favorite Tales OST, again, second only to Zestiria’s.  But a few highlights: Kane wo Narashite (this one’s basically one of my karaoke go-tos, just like White Light), Fury Sparks, The Full Moon and the Morning Star, Tenacity (all of the battle themes, really), Aim for the Top, Cutting Off the Dark Ambitions, When Determination Strikes, The Final Showdown, A Once-In-A-Lifetime Duel . . . you get the idea.  I also love the over world themes and . . . and . . . and . . .

favorite monster?  The Gentle*whatever* line of monsters that were suppose to be Abyss references/cameos.  They’re so delightfully creepy and memorable to fight.

This AU is about dogs. The most removed we'll get from domesticated dogs are wolfdogs. No foxes, coyotes, cats and such. This AU is just a fun project to draw different dog breeds! How did you pick a breed? Rarely the choice is made based only on looks. I try to take into consideration a breed's personality, what they were bred to do and sometimes even country of origin.

This person should be the same breed of dog they have irl! I prefer going with something new that might fit them better. Why no bulldogs or pugs? Unless mixed with a healthier breed, I'll try to avoid breeds that have a ton of health issues associated with them.
