my new character idea:

elf cursed by a mage to have complete horrible amnesia. they remember few things, and one of them is the person they love most in the world. they can't remember this person's face, their name, or even their own name, but they know where this person is and how deeply in love they are with them. the elf refuses to even go by any make-up names because they're waiting to remember their old name, so they just go by "the nameless one" or "nameless" in their party of adventurers.

after so so long toiling to find this person they love, the absolute perfect person that loves them back, too, they find that this person actually never existed and Nameless has no one to remember them. no one to remember who they were. and no one to love them
