- one of seven siblings, he's the fifth in line for the imperial throne of korea. his eldest brother is currently emperor, which is a primarily ceremonial/figure head role. it's highly unlikely that the line of succession will ever reach jaehyun, which has allowed him plenty of freedoms. - the expansive list of languages, cultural practices, art forms and instruments that were thrust on him as a child was a welcome foray into the world of possibility that lay beyond seoul, though the most appealing from very early on were the ballet lessons he took with his sisters. - he was educated by tutors in korea with his siblings, and when he expressed interest in pursuing ballet professionally, it was decided that he could do as he wished, so long as he did it to the highest possible standard - he gained admission to the vaganova ballet school in st. petersburg, and moved there at 14, accompanied by an aunt and uncle - being away from home, in a foreign country, working hard to achieve highly at school and at his dance lessons, the pressure got to him. he developed an eating disorder that was only fueled by the image-conscious environment of russian ballet school - at 17 he won the prix de lausanne in his division, and when he graduated the academy he was offered a prestigious place at the american ballet theatre - he took the opportunity, but spent the first year away from vaganova battling with his ed, and working hard at recovery so that he could perform to the best of his ability - he danced there for 4 years, and then moved to the royal ballet when they offered him a role as principal dancer - his siblings don’t entirely understand his choice of career path, but with no real hereditary role he’s been determined to carve himself out a niche somewhere - he took a break from dancing to complete his mandatory military service for a year and eight months in the navy, which he did as a duty both to his family and his country despite despising every moment of it - near the close of his service, his father passed away and his eldest brother was crowned emperor so he remained in seoul to support him, and make appearances with his family - he currently lives in seoul, although he's looking out for work opportunities overseas as he feels his family is stable enough for him to go off into the world again - jae refuses to dance in korea, preferring to work overseas where people don't know who he is and his dancing can speak for itself - his nature is reserved and aloof, he's grown up in the public eye and had anonymity in equal measures enough to not take much to heart

tldr: unpredictable loose canon motivates himself entirely out of spite alone 

born in sydey, australia to the teng family who own the major media companies in australasia and south asia as the second child in the family, with a sister ten years his elder. all but limitless as the families wealth was, his parents kept him away from it for most of his youth, of the belief that too much too young would spoil him. they lived in expensive houses, holidayed in far-off locations, but it was not his to access. 

when the other students at his private school were being given cars and designer gifts by their parents, hugo’s insisted that he worked for the same. it felt ridiculous to have a part time job through school when his parents had riches, but he’s grateful for it in hindsight at least, if not a little resentful.

when he left school with immaculate grades (but a much less immaculate personal record) his parents loosened up, and insisted that he had earned access to the limitless teng wealth that they’d kept from him as motivation, though he suspects it had more to do with the fact they had finally grown sick of his whining.

still, he wanted forge his own way in the world. luckily, he was born ambitious, and with a mean streak when it came to out-doing his older sister, who could do no wrong in their parent’s eyes. she was given the reins of the family company when they retired, and though hugo had no interest in the position, it filled him with jealousy that he had been outdone by her. almost everything he does is in competition with her, trying to come out from under her illustrious shadow.

very much a ‘work hard, play harder’ kind of person, hugo puts his head down when he needs to, wanting to have his own impressive career that speaks for itself under his belt, but he rewards himself perhaps in excess, and has a penchant for getting into trouble that he’s well versed in buying his way out of. 

he’s been in the society for three years now, and once the novelty wore off, is slightly jaded about the validity of an organisation that so heavily privileges things he is finding less and less relevance in.

tldr: an actual Disney princess tbh. Generally a media darling, super kind to everyone she meets, married to the best man, mother to two wonderful children - she’s got it all. It wasn’t all smooth sailing though when a family tragedy caused a dip in her mental health which she is still conscious of to this day. Started her own foundation four years ago in aid of mental health and has been trying to do some good in the world.

Born to the younger son of the Belgian king and the daughter of a prominent royal family (a wc if anyone would like a cousin!!) she grew up slightly away from the spotlight but there was still plenty of attention on her little family. It didn’t matter though, the three of them were blissfully happy and she grew up happy and vivacious.

When she was eleven her parents were killed in a skiing accident and her whole world shifted. She moved into the palace with her aunt and uncle, surrounded by love and family but she still felt empty and out of place. She lost interest in almost everything and her usual bright smile dimmed until it was barely there.

Once she started getting therapy things started to improve for her. It wasn’t easy and to this day she still has to make a conscious choice not to let herself get lost to the grief all over again. Her grades recovered enough that she earned herself a place at St Andrews (although her surname no doubt helped) and she moved there to study 

Started dating Alexandre (heir to the Monegasque throne) in her third year of university, the pair of them gravitating together through a shared experience of dealing with the weight of expectations on their shoulders. It didn’t take all that long for their families to hear about it, despite their best efforts to keep it private, and they came under fond but increasing pressure to get married.

They got engaged about two years into dating and then married when she was 25. Quite quickly afterwards they had their first child: a daughter named Gabriella. Two years later their son Antoine followed.

By the time she was 28 she had her foundation up and running and since then has been raising as much awareness for the importance of mental health. She gives speeches frequently as well as raising money for various causes related to helping those who might need it. It’s not the only charity she lends a hand to but it is the only one baring her name.

Now that her husband has become Sovereign Prince she’s started taking a more active interest in Monegasque politics, helping and advising where she can. She takes her position of Sovereign Princess very seriously but still manages to juggle it with her foundation as well as being a mother to her two children.

had an idyllic childhood - silver spoon, wanted for nothing, the whole deal. grew up in paris, and raised to one day take over the family business, an aerospace company (with nefarious ties to weapons manufacture: basically, airbus)

sent to boarding school at institut le rosey, where he excelled in economics, and at writing. he also realised he was gay during this period, but kept it to himself and a few close friends.

got a double degree in commerce (majoring in economics and international business) and fine art (majoring in fashion) and took on a position at his father’s company

all that was smashed to pieces when he turned twenty and decided to come out to his parents who were far less supportive than he’d expected them to be. he was given an ultimatum - give up his ‘choice of lifestyle’ or give up his family as he knew it

he chose the latter, unwilling to lay aside who he was so quickly, but it had a massive effect on his confidence, and drew him in on himself. 

and through friends in high places he began to work his way up the hierarchy first by working in the financial department of luxury brands. was promoted to assistant cfo at dior when he was 28.

was appointed editor-in-chief of vogue paris at 30, and holds the position to this day, having brought the publication to hold the position of one of the leading fashion magazines on the market

after almost a decade with minimal contact from his parents, they approached him with a white flag - engagement to milo valentin baptiste, the son of an old family friend

the family name had taken a hit after controversy after information about covert weapons manufacture was leaked to the press, and they needed a distraction. in return, they offered et his share of the inheritance back, and a place on the board, as well as an end to the isolation he (and they) imposed on him. reluctantly, he accepted, though he’s made no movement to see it through yet.

Isabel was on X-Factor as a 14 year old and won the show alongside the record deal that came out of it 

she’s been interested in music since she was 4, heavily pushed by her parents to take piano and violin lessons, by the time she was six voice and dance lessons were added onto this 

she’s never had a typical childhood, something she still regrets, and due to getting famous as a teen it made it impossible for her to just be a normal child

most of the money she made in her early career she didn’t have access to since her parents handled her finances, which she later found out meant that they took a majority of her money. they claim they “took back what they invested” 

when she found out she was extremely upset and felt used by them. So as soon as she turned 18 she hired the best lawyer she could find to financially seperate her income from her parents so that they would not have the access to her bank account and her life anymore.

Meaning: Adrasteia means “the inescapable,” which I chose as her label. It’s another name for Nemesis, the goddess of divine retribution, which i found quite fitting because she’s always managed to rise above people and attain what she wants, even if it is through using her parents’ money and power to her advantage at least in part. And now she’s the defender of the free world, in the most powerful office in the world — don’t make an enemy of the inescapable, for the inescapable will always get you.

Traditionalist or Reformist: Leah struggles to shoe-horn herself into either camp, but she supposes in general due to her own ideas that she’s some kind of reformist, even if that reform doesn’t include party islands and hedonistic displays. She prefers more power for women within the Society; more space for non-established families and for people to get in on their talent alone.

Goals In The Society: Her own advancement. To make her rowdy siblings see their own potential, and perhaps find a bond with them that feels less like she’s that cousin you don’t see often and don’t know very well. Ultimately, to be the Grand Archon, where she can make the most positive change. To use the Society to get rid of the Twenty-Second Amendment so she has more time to create further equally positive change for America.

BIOGRAPHY ;

TWELVE years — that was how long Leontine Artemisia was the sole daughter of Kenneth and Candace Morgan, but also how long it took them to forget why. Through generations of the Morgan bloodline the same issue had persisted; a work-ethic that was either partly or entirely based upon an unattainable ideal of perfection. 

Which, in itself, led to relationships like the parents’ own. Lacking in healthy emotional expression ( particularly on the side of the born Morgan, less so in his softer-hearted wife ) and with at least some business element regarding a ‘practical’ or ‘advantageous’ match. It wasn’t an arranged marriage, not quite, as they had found each other — mostly — alone, but neither could it be said to be a ‘love match’ the likes of which fill the daydreams of any hopeless romantic. 

And then, from there, they hadn’t realised how it would impact any child of theirs until it was too-little, too-late to do anything about it. When the nifty Morgan motto had already taken hold, dug itself into the young girl, going deeper with every comment Kenneth made about how she could be ‘better,’ or ‘how do you expect to be like me or your grandfather?’ 

It became Candace’s — being the far more empathetic parent, the one who was there when Leah fell and who had attached herself to her first-born in a way she would not attach quite the same with inevitable additions — goal to get her as far away from her husband’s influence as possible, so that she might have half a chance at coming fully into her own. Except, prior to achieving that goal, the terrors ( I’m sorry, the twins, but they were, and are, terrors ) came into the trio’s lives, and Leah was both no longer alone, and more alone than ever.

Which suited her fine, or at least she said it did. After all, she was still her mother’s favourite, anyone could see it. Could feel it, where Kenneth had turned his attention to the young babes to see which child would offer him the legacy he craved; because Leah’s goal — politics; the highest seat in the land, even then, regardless if she had to claw her way up there with her nails or not — didn’t particularly interest him at the time ( Morgan Financial needed an heir, and he was consistently frustrated at his eldest daughter’s disinterest ) and would interest him even less after she came back with European ideas from her next destination: the Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland, where she would meet a whole host of future A-Listers and members of the Society, including one Étienne de Polignac.

When she returned from Le Rosey at the age of eighteen, her next destination was already settled: the famed Harvard University, to study political science. Of course, she could be nothing but the hardest worker, something she would not let her university boyfriend — as much as she loved him at the time — get in the way of; it was clear Kenneth’s message had gotten through to her ( too well, as she would never feel good enough, always striving to impress him, when it was impossible ) when she chose career over her love life upon graduation. 

Because from a young age she had set her eyes upon the White House desk, organised her life around that ultimate dream; pursued law and civics, and abandoned the healthy social lives of others her age. While other members of her family could have been considered high-society socialites, all she knew was her own ambition. Quickly Leah herself became the pedestal for her siblings to follow — except, not her politics, as Kenneth would indicate by sending the twins to Phillips Exeter rather than Le Rosey — and was a point of pride when her parents decided she ought to go to public events; after all, she had to learn how to relate to people, didn’t she? Her first motto, and a tattoo she has that’s always hidden by her clothing, is: change your stars, if you try, you’ll succeed.

Leontine moved to Maryland after Harvard, where she worked as a political advisor at Capitol Hill for one of the Democratic representatives ( whilst balancing a second degree, in international relations, at Johns Hopkins University due to its proximity to Capitol Hill ) until she was of constitutional age to stand for election in the House. She won Maryland’s second district — rather than standing in her birth / home state of Kentucky — and then, upon turning thirty, became the junior senator for the state; however, these early political years were all overshadowed by one event: the war in Iraq, with which she vehemently disagreed, and which has continued to influence her strong anti-war stance throughout the rest of her political career.

‘The rest’ of her political career including her run for President in the 2016 election, resulting in the thirty-six year old defeating Republican nominee Donald Trump in the most resounding fashion since the Nixon landslide. And even then the opponent managed to win Massachusetts; not so here. 

She grew up privileged, of course she did, and she’s found her balance between being at peace with and being very aware of what led her to where she is today: the Oval Office, the young trailblazer wherever she went. Leah Morgan’s ‘brand’ is record-breaking, perhaps ( after all, she very quickly charmed people to her favour to admit her into the society as a 25-year-old initiate, a Societal record that still to this day stands. ) 

Leah’s mother Candace, however, was killed in a ‘car crash’ last Thanksgiving, a tragedy which she has not processed; she hasn’t any understanding of how to deal with grief — none of the Morgans do — so, at some point, it’s all going to come back to her.

But she was raised on ‘this is good, but you can always do better,’ and that shows more than anything in this woman with a lot of dreams and even more ambition.

Elvyra is the only daughter of business leader and investor Jorge Ramos and socialite and philanthropist Andrea Ramos (now Van Cortlandt after her second marriage). she is of spanish/cuban descent and was born in miami, florida but has lived in beverly hills for the majority of her life.

She grew up with everything handed to her on a silver platter, but it wasn’t material stuff she wanted. she wanted attention from her parents

they were constantly traveling or working or hosting or attending events. family time was extremely limited, but it was great when it happened and she spent weeks at a time looking forward to the next time the three of them could have dinner together. she loved her parents, but seemingly not as much as they loved each other. so she did everything she could think of to get their attention

this began with excelling in school and at various extra curricular activities. she discovered a knack for artistic endeavors and picked up gymnastics and cheerleading but when the ‘making them proud’ angle didn’t yield the results she wanted, she quickly changed strategies. it seemed that negative attention worked the best. If she failed or class or got in trouble for flashing the lunchroom at her private school, they had to take notice.

she also quickly learned that she could get what she was lacking at school instead. if she acted out there, there was an instant reaction and seemingly no negative consequences.

she dove headfirst into the social scene at her school and quickly realized that attention really wasn’t that hard to come by at all. especially from guys–she’d always been boy-crazy but the awakening of her sexuality in high school showed her just how addictive it could be to feel desired. she began thriving on sexual attention, dressing provocatively and acting the part for her dose of validation

being in the spotlight was an added stressor. what a normal high schooler might have gotten away with was under constant scrutiny by seemingly everyone. high society talked and she hated the whole world that her parents belonged to. she loved the money and luxury of it all, but hated the phoniness and constant pressure. it only exacerbated her rebellious streak and her acting out continued through college

she attended nyu for business, spending her nights partying in nyc when she wasn’t flying in to la for various events she was expected to attend. despite her obvious wealth, her parents’ friends turned their noses down at her and treated her as lesser. after college she felt like she had a lot to prove

with the help of a ton of hired professionals she was able to start her own business ventures with some hefty loans from her father. many failed–an investment on a production company that went under, a boutique that cost way too much in rent, a luxury travel agency that was a trainwreck from the start–but a couple stuck.

Elvyra is a spoiled brat, really. She’s rich and pretty and entirely too used to getting her way. She doesn’t handle rejection well and lashes out when she’s told “no”.

Sometimes she grapples with needing to feel in control and can be prone to starting petty arguments or stirring up trouble. She rarely keeps her thoughts or opinions to herself and likes provoking reactions from people. She especially likes to test people’s boundaries, more-so as she gets closer with them.

Elvyra is selfish above all else. She’s looking out for number one, and that means doing what she needs to do to get ahead/ get attention/ have fun. She doesn’t trust easily and has loyalties to few. she’s been known to push people away.

Self-control is not her strong suit. She’s never really dealt with consequences or responsibilities and can be careless and reckless as a result. Instant gratification is her MO. She wants what she wants when she wants it and is prone to impulsivity.

Educational background: Briefly attended a private school (but dropped out), then went to a public school in Australia, before finally settling on a good private school. Eventually, Layla ended up studying fashion design at ESMOD International, Paris.

Occupational history: Honestly, Layla hasn’t worked a ton. Primarily fashion internships until she eventually created her own label (which she did work hard at), she briefly sang in a very bad band that was a one hit wonder. Layla also worked at a French restaurant impulsively because she was curious. Essentially, she just likes artsy things and she’s rich by proxy.

Job: A fashion designer as iconic as Coco Chanel.

Vacation: Likely, somewhere that would give Layla a variety of things to do, like snowboard, boat, suntan... basically, she’d like an expedition of different places. Maybe all throughout France, Italy and Spain? The best of every single world with fast moving events and lots of people to meet. She’s energized by humans.

Day: It would start with a fashion show, with different brands coming together, and her own duh! And then it would move on to a fancy lunch where Layla could chat and network and then end with a fabulous party.

Last night: Layla sketched some ideas, walked her dog and then went out for dinner with a group of friends.

Quick Biography:

The illegitimate child of hotel mogul Bruce Fitzgerald, Layla was born into a strange kind of privilege. Up until she was eight, her mother and father both juggled her, but really, the only person Layla bonded with was her sibling, Jude. Bruce was judgmental, difficult and oftentimes too strict while her mother, Brianna, was a complete train wreck. Brianna loved fame — and she never had a ‘mothering’ gene, so to speak. Naturally, that ended with Brianna attempting to make Layla a child star (and due to the Fitzgerald notoriety, it worked).

That said, Layla was still cared for, just without the love. She briefly attended boarding schools until she got kicked out (or dropped out), she went to public school to make more friends (successfully) and then once she landed in Jude’s care, Layla finally found a private school in Australia that focused on what she really loved: the arts.

Falling in love with art was what saved Layla from a life of debauchery. She still loved parties and having fun, but she loved fashion and creating more. Once she set her sights on becoming a fashion designer, some of her scandals eased a bit. She was still famous, still bonding with fans, but Layla wanted to become a designer and so she did.

Jude, thankfully, sent Layla to one of the best design schools in the world in France. There, she learned plenty about the art, design, and what it took to become successful at it. Despite her dad being a real prick, he did financially support Layla throughout that time, and once she was old enough to access the money she’d made acting as a kid, Layla was set to create her own label called Isis.

With the Society’s help, Isis flourished, and so did Layla as a result. Currently, she’s working on another collection while fanning the flame to her own fame through throwbacks of her child star days, teases of Isis’s second collection, and a variety of publicity stunts. Yeah, Layla reeeeaaaallllllyyyyy loves attention.

Personality wise, besides being an attention whore, Layla is very outgoing, sociable and kindhearted. Literally, she just loves humans and she’s quite naive despite having a wild childhood. She’s very flighty and impulsive and artistic. She’s very flirtatious also. Just all around a good human who doesn’t bother much with the drama of living, she’s rich, it don’t matter. She works in creative spurts for sure… all about that free love. A rich hippie, if you will, who loves to party and have fun!

in a nutshell: the crown prince of denmark is enough bad decisions to last a lifetime disguised as a six-foot man. sleep-drink-fuck-repeat is as close to a daily schedule as he’ll ever have, and honestly his mum doesn’t care so why should he?

the eldest of two, tobias has been prepped for the throne since his childhood; the son of the then-princess signe, and wim, a dutch trainee-pilot, grew up with a tiny golden crown ( all 24-karats of it ) he’d stalk around christiansborg wearing. losing out on such perceived power was never going to be an option.

his education was seen to by private tutors until he turned eleven, when he was sent off to harrow in england to gain a well-rounded ( and anglicised ) education. this was also treated as his way into oxford -- though that would’ve never been an issue: he’s a prince -- and, if anything, made his attachment issues to his mother even worse.
