eddie reading to you

I am thinking so much all the time about Eddie reading lord of the rings to you

like I imagine you’re talking to him one day and he references the hobbit and starts explaining it and you’re like “Eddie, I have actually read the hobbit you know”

and at first he’s like (●♡∀♡) “you have???” 

but then he realises “but I’ve talked about lord of the rings so many times and you never said anything” and you have to tell him

“well, when I finished the hobbit…I realised I don’t really like reading fantasy?”

Eddie: I am betrayed, I am scandalised, I am heartbroken

but he asks you why and you’re like “it’s just hard for me to get in to something that out there I guess? if it doesn’t seem real to me, it’s hard to picture.”

“and then with every chapter there’s more characters with different names and sometimes a different species and…it’s hard to keep track”

and that, he can kind of understand

but it’s so important to him, so at first you try to read it yourself and save some questions for when you see him

but that’s even worse because without the context of where you are in the book it’s easy for him to go off on tangents

Eddie: and so that’s why there’s been a feud between the dwarves and the elves that’s lasted pretty much since they were created 

You: Eddie, I just asked you to remind me who Celebrimbor was

and also in his absolute ideal dream land he gets to watch you experience this amazing story 

honestly the real dream is that Eddie is alive and well in 2001 and you get to see the movies together I cry to think about it please hold me

but in 1986, the best he can do is reading it aloud to you ignoring the animated movie, and actually it’s just as good

cause the BEST Eddie scene (and I DO NOT accept criticism) is him playing D&D, describing everything that happens with so much confidence and enthusiasm, creating tension with his tone and acting things out, laughing with so much excitement and joy to see their reactions to the story he’s set up for them

so it becomes such a routine, going back to his trailer at the end of the day, maybe eating together or and talking for an hour

then he takes you to his room and sits up against the headboard with you against his warm chest

Eddie occasionally tapping your arm to get you to hold the blunt to his lips so he can take a drag while he turns a page

on turning the page, he holds the book in front of both of you so you can read along if you want

and you do, sometimes, but often you’re just watching his steady hands while he speaks

and it’s so much better, cause when you ask who somebody is or what something means he knows exactly the information you need to know for what’s happening in the story at that moment

and mainly it’s just how gooooood he’d be at different voices and tones

gentle voices for the hobbits, sam especially. 

a little joyful and mischievous for merry and pippin, slowly fading as they learn

the wisdom and strength that comes through in the voice he does for gandalf

growling and hissing in your ear as gollum in a way that sends a touch of terror through you even as you’re leaning your head back to watch his face for reassurance that it’s still him

swaying and bobbing you both together rhythmically during bilbo’s party, like you’re there listening to the hobbit’s folky harps and accordions

bringing his voice low to get you on edge before a chase or a battle, slowly tightening his arms around you to make you sense the impending trap

every surprise accompanied by a sudden shout and a jolt, sending your heart racing like you didn’t see the words a second before he said them out loud, like you didn’t know

and when Eddie’s voice cracks a little, reading Boromir’s death, or Frodo going to the Grey Havens, you feel your throat close up too

and when you finish return of the king, both of you start laughing a little sadly to look at each other, both wiping tears from the others face

and Eddie wraps you up in his arms all snug and kisses the top of your hair and asks if that was better than reading it yourself

and you tell him how good he is at making the story come alive and how much you loved listening to him over the weeks it took to finish the books

and Eddie is all blushy and sweet and bashful pulling his HAIR over his lovely FACE 

and he tells you he loved watching you experience it and thanks you for letting him share something so special to him with you 

and so then you have to ask

“Eddie, I know I said I didn’t like it much before, but I want to experience it like this. would you read the hobbit to me?”

I love the concept of Megatron feeding on ambition! I'd go farther, though, and say he's a Unicronian of ambitions gone awry.

So, when he has been summoned before, he's always been a double-edged sword. He will give you the power to fulfil your ambitions, but in the end, they'll no longer resemble what you set out with. You wished to protect your people? Congratulations, your enemies are all dead! But can't you see that their rot has infiltrated your ranks?

And the next thing you know, you're surrounded by the corpses of those who looked to you for protection, for safety.

But Starscream is different. Megatron has grown fond of his little mortal summoner, like he has no other.

Well. Other than the summoner who took on his name. Megatron had loved him and had still turned his conquests into ash and rust.

Ok 1. I love the idea of Megatron having taken his name from Megatronus Prime. That's hella interesting. Maybe that ties into why he has come to be called The Fallen? He fell in with Unicron's influence and was banished as a result?

2. Yessss Megatron being so soft for Starscream, tho ofc no one can tell. He'd rip out and devour the spark of anyone who tried to get in his way. The more Starscream reaches for new heights the stronger his Unicronian becomes; they're basically in a perfect mutalistic relationship where their actions directly benefit the other party and vice versa. It's perfect

Because of it, Megatron isn't keen on letting him fo, nor will he tolerate anyone trying to separate them. Starscream dreams bigger than any other mortal he's encountered thus far, and actually has the drive to claw his way toward his goals without rest or reflection. He's an endless fountain for Megatron to drink from, and of course the stronger he gets, the more Starscream is able to accomplish, thus feeding his ambitions more.

I love the development of their relationship. Gimme more thoughts (つ✧ω✧)つ like, what kinda storyline are we looking at here? We've got a good base, so 👀 take it away!

Flowers aren't meant to be thrown up. Or, when you eat flowers, you're not supposed to be throwing them up in one piece.

You, on the other hand, wake up to a hard cough. Rushing to the bathroom in fear of actually throwing up from the itch in the back of your throat, you cough out four orchid petals into the toilet. You sit there, staring at the flowers in there for a long time, before rushing to find Isabela to see if she knew anything about it.

"Mi vida-" You brush past Camilo, shooting him an apologetic smile, and make a beeline to Isabela's room.

"Isa." You pant. "Please tell me you know something about flower related diseases."

Isabela stares at you, and you avoid the cacti on the ground before rushing to her.

"Flower related diseases?"

"Please? I haven't ingested any flowers, but I woke up to a hard cough and threw up like four petals. Am I going to die?" You shake from the fear, and you feel your throat contracting again. "Gimme a sec-"

You cough harshly, and you catch the petals that fly out in your hands. "See?"

Isabela's eyes widen. "Stay here for a moment; I'll call mi mama. She might know more."

You sit there, staring at the petals. They look like orchids, and if you weren't mistaken, purple orchids usually meant respect. You found it ironic; maybe this was the universe telling you that Camilo only respected you. You observe the petals and discover that there's no blood or anything.

"Mi amor," Julieta rushes to you, and she checks your throat. "Are you ok? Is it hard to breathe?"

"No," You shake your head. "I'm fine. There's just a little scratch in my throat. What is it?"

"Are you in love with someone?"

Her question catches you off guard. In... love? You think about it, and you realize that you do. Should you tell her about it? You sit there, staring into nothing, and Julieta rubs circles on your hand.

"Mi amor." She smiles. "This isn't something I can cure. I've tried before with another villager."

You purse your lips. "Will... I die from it?"

Julieta sits down next to you. "No, mi amor. There's a chance that you will, but if the person returns your feelings, then you'll be fine."

Maybe that's what it was. When you leave the room, you don't stop by Camilo's place like you usually do; You head home.

"Mi pequeño," Your mom sits you down. "Are you alright?"

You manage to nod, and your mom has you rest for the rest of the day.

Petals don't get easier to hold back. They become part of your day-to-day routine. Waking up, throwing up, eating, throwing up, going to the plaza to get food, throwing up near a tree, heading home, throwing up... a flower bud?

Your heart rams against your chest. Were you already progressing to the second stage? Your lungs feel heavier as the week passes. You can't keep hiding from Camilo like this. You can't keep doing this to yourself. Can you?

You smile. You absolutely can.

So you keep yourself inside for another week or so. The flower buds eventually turn into a half bloomed flower painted in blood. It gets harder to breathe with each day, and Julieta's arepas haven't helped.

"Mi hija! Isabela's here!" You peek past your door, and she walks in.

"Are you feeling better?"

"You literally saw me throw up a half bloomed orchid two days ago. Yes, I am better." Your voice drips with sarcasm. "The flowers are fully bloomed."

You show her the newest flower, and you watch her swallow.

"And Tía's arepas aren't helping?"

"You were there when she-" You pause. "Camilo, what are you doing."

Camilo shifts back into himself, and he fiddles with his fingers. "I... You stopped talking to me, so I wondered if something happened."

You blink at him, and you feel another flower crawling its way up your throat. "Give me a second."

You turn to the side, and the flower falls out of your mouth. "Do you like my magic trick?"

Camilo's eyes widen in horror, and he cups your face. "Mi vida! This isn't good! Why didn't you tell me? Who are you in love with? I'll get an answer out of them for you-"

You cough harshly, and a handful of flowers make their way out of your mouth. "Shut up for three minutes, please, Camilo."

You hit your chest twice, and you let the final flower slip out. "Sorry. No, you don't need to help me. I'll just die alone."

"Mi vida-"

"It'd be nice if I get to hear a confession out of his mouth, though." You grumble, and you stare at him. His eyes are watery.

"Are you crying? I'm sorry, please don't cry-" You cup his face, ignoring the flowers burning your lungs.

"I just," Camilo mumbles weakly. "I just don't want you to die. Hell, I'm head over heels in love with you... please, let me help. I'll do anything."

Camilo shakes from his tears, and you cough. A final flower falls from your mouth, and you can breathe again.

"'MILO!" You shake him. "I'M ALIVE! IT WORKED! I'M NOT GONNA DIE ANYMORE-"

Camilo stares at you, tears still running down his face.

"Who were you in love with...?

"You." You hug him, laughing. "It was you. It's always been you."

Camilo rests his face in the crook of your neck, quiet sobs leaving his mouth. He can't find it in himself to stop crying.

"Let it out." You mumble. "I'm not going anywhere."

And you won't for a long time.
