Maybe testing can be seeing how many Aperture branded weighted companion cubes your partner can stack on your head. And maybe love can be stacking blocks on your partner's head to see what she would do.

I like to think that Caroline and GLaDOS are essentially the same entity there's functionally no difference between them. GLaDOS can't delete Caroline because she is Caroline but she can delete Caroline's memories. While I don't doubt that Aperture could have made an AI with a human level conscience it would be more time efficient to just allow Caroline's consciousness to take its place. GLaDOS acted as a fail safe if the consciousness transfer (digitization? Not too sure what it's called) didn't work, they would still have something to show for their efforts and that something could do the basic runnings of Aperture in Caroline's place until they had finished the code to make her more advanced.

At first they were more two distinct entities, Caroline not knowing how to run a computer if she actually was the computer and GLaDOS just acting as a way to facilitate her progressively more complex attempts to get revenge on those she deemed to have wronged her. I think they would merge over time into one singular entity, GLaDOS becoming an AI with real genuine human emotion and Caroline being able to live forever in a way.

I have my own thoughts on post portal 2 stuff that I will probably post later it involves the crows and their techdeck n some more I promise that one picture wasn't a one off thing.
