Omg related story, my sister hates Duran Duran so much! It’s become a meme between the two of us because that barely ever disagree on anything, especially music wise. She told me one time that she hates Hungry Like The Wolf, and I like it a lot, and I started listening to them more, and now it’s great because I get to annoy her by talking about them non stop! It’s a nice bonding exercise because we always get into the same media together in some form.

As for bands/albums I didn’t like at first, To Our Children’s Children’s Children by the Moody Blues! I think the timeline goes something like:

- Christmas 2017, my sister gets me their greatest hits CD because she knew I was starting to take an interest. I’m obsessed

- Like May 2018, I listen to Days of Future Passed for the first time and I’m obsessed.

- Shortly after, I decided I want to listen to m o r e, and listen to To Our Children’s Children’s Children for the first time. My immediate reaction is “mom come pick me up I’m scared”. I quit after like two songs 😭

So until like 2019, I legit only listened to those two previously mentioned albums, I don’t think I listened to anything by anyone else. In 2019 I listened to more stuff by them on Spotify and got obsessed with that for the rest of the year.

Then in March 2020 I ventured into all the core 7 albums. So I gave that album a try again (there’s gotta be a shorter way to write its name 😳) and now it might be my all time fave!

But omg that’s amazing!! (I love your little time line there btw) 😄 To Our Children’s Children’s Children is my favorite of theirs too!! And you’re so right there’s gotta be a shorter way to write it lol Same here though! It wasn’t until March 2020 that I really got into the Moody Blues. I grew up within Days of Future Passed, and really liked what I found of theirs in 2017. But I didn’t really discover them or have the chance to really listen to them until last year! Crazy! Now they are my absolute favorite band💙

Speaking of taking a while to get into a band, when I first listened to Caravan last year I didn’t think they would also become one of my top favorite bands haha! It’s taken me up until these last fall months to really get into them, and I still haven’t listened to all of their stuff! Anyways lately I have fallen in love with Caravan’s Blind Dog at St. Dunstans. I just cannot stop listening to it! It’s such a stupid album but it’s my stupid album and if I don’t fully listen to it at least once a week I’ll simply combust! I hunted down a vinyl copy (thank u discogs 🙏) and I am looking for a good CD copy so I can listen to it in the car😅 I’m sort of obsessed!
