FMP ideas

Rules: Low budget, no Green Screen, not to much dialogue because my “actors” are terrible xD. Must have opportunity's to show of directing skills and uniqute stories, different to what others will be doing. Must have decent script with funny well written lines.

1. The Runaway Camera/  : look at script bellow. Fake trailer form. Wes Anderson inspired film, comedy with elements of drama. Should be easy to film but at same time potentially tricky. My favorite idea so far as it’s a tribute to Plymouth and it feels like me if that makes sense. Looking back at script realize there are parts I can cut out as they don’t flow well and will be difficult to film/realize.

Plot: Student camera gets stolen and has to return it before the deadline or else he’l fail his Final Project, not go to University and has to pay large amount of money! With only 4 hours him and his friends embark on a journey running around Plymouth trying to find the thief, comedy and drama ensues as the friends realize they will be parting ways an facing an uncertain future. Serves as a farewell to Plymouth, my friends and in a way a Coming of Age story.

Tone: Very upbeat while still having a sense of sadness.

2. Hacker Film: I wrote a script for a Watchdogs film months ago which I never got round to filming but I could reuse it. It’s a simple script, taking place in one room, nice dialogue, potential for good shots but need to rewrite it. Maybe to “edgy”.

Plot: Vigilante kidnaps an abusive man, saving the man’s wife and child from a life of abuse and threatens the cruel man. 

Tone:Dark

3. Cures of the Mutants: had an idea for a fan film week ago, could use it but without X-men elements. Has potential for great visual shots and includes some pix-elation. Maybe fake trailer form.

Plot: A Teenage Omega Mutant is haunted by visions of the future and watches his personal timeline in the wrong order and for see's the death of all Mutants. 

Tone: Dark

4. Mockumentary: Maybe film my friends or everyday life and talk over in a humorous tone with funny dialogue mocking everyday life and exaggerating actual events. Did give Charlie same idea though and want him to use it and idea doesn't really show of directing skills. Maybe save it for Youtube channel.

5. Nostalgia Hour: Short film of a Teenager who once a week for one hour to escape from the stress of the world watches kid cartoons from his childhood which makes him happy. Potential to have unique tone and some interesting shots. Not much dialogue which is good, can focus on visuals. Probably won’t be as interesting as Runaway Camera though and people may interpret the meaning wrong.

Tone: Happy but sad.

6. Wrath of the Four Eyed Goblin: My previous FMP that I never completed. Should I try again? It’s a good idea and i’m sad I never got to complete it first time round but it won’t show much creativity if I just reuse an old idea so maybe complete it a different time.

7. Anthology short movie: A film starring a few short films I make with a loose connecting element? That way I can write and show off different ideas each with different theme and style. Think Heavy Metal and Movie 43.               Downside of this idea means I have to come up with more short ideas and use more actors.

8. The Pitch (working title): A comedy about a teen and his friends in his living room trying to come up with ideas for their FMP and constantly rejecting each others ideas saying they’re “Unrealistic” or “Depressing”. Will need to write a script but think this is a funny meta idea. Second best idea.
