yes yes
I have normal thoughts
Like, Warden Ingo and Hero!reader coming to terms with their situation after completing the Pokédex and settling down. Finding solace in one another and getting married, building a house and doing all that domestic good stuff when they’re done with their jobs for the day. Starting to talk about children (or adopting), when all of a sudden Emmet burst through their door wailing about how he finally found them after all these years.
How he got here or how he found their home are the questions that momentarily slips from the couple’s minds. Because this tired man in white is on his knees, grasping at their clothes and sobbing like he was mourning the death of his loved ones. Ingo had his arm in front of you (despite that fact you’re very capable of throwing a man out the window), while he tries to talk some sense into the man. You also try to get some answers out of him but you had to keep your Zoroark from mauling him.
Actually, all of your Pokémon came over from their spots on the property to see who dared to intrude the cozy home. They’re ready to jump at poor Emmet when given the command, which does not help with the situation. You and Ingo looked once at each other, then down at the man claiming to be his twin and your other lover. But if that were true, how come neither of you can remember? You let him hug you both. Guess you’ll have to wait for his crying to subside.
Truly, a terrifying yet pitiful experience; just what to do with this stranger?

*busts down door*
Self aware submas in your emulator app.
And they were eventually able to sneak their files out from the game.
You jolt from a sudden, loud call in the middle of the night. Which is weird, because you had it on silent and your ringtone is definitely not like the one from the Xtransceiver in your game.
You panic, already assuming that your phone has a bug because of the games and files you’ve downloaded for the emulator.
Nonetheless, you answer the call and awaited a familiar cutscene. Instead, the sprites of two minor characters appeared, and they have lots to discuss about with their darling gamer.
▽: Finally! We did it! I am Emmet and I have been waiting a looooong while to talk to you!
▲: Erm- I apologize for this abrupt call but… we could not wait any longer to meet you, finally. Just us three without the blockages of the game and codings… So, for the first time: Hello our darling.
You felt faint at the idea of the Subway Masters gaining consciousness and their only motive was to interact with you.
Nah, you’re probably still asleep.

Wait concept-
Hisui Hero reader also being amnesiac right?
Forms a strong and close friendship with Warden Ingo because of the similarities of their situations, right?
Both feeling a strong pull towards eachother from the very start and a need to protect eachother despite not remembering who they are and they do not act on their growing feelings because they both have an inkling they’ve left someone back home.
Only for Ingo to finally remember that the reader is his lover and when trying to get them to remember… they don’t.
Their memories are a lot more stubborn than Ingo’s (because Arceus realizes that Ingo is going to distract them from the quest-) and now we have a sad and desperate Warden who won’t stop at anything to have his beloved remember who he is and all they’ve been through 🥺
