SummerCon 2k17| DONE

SummerCon was about two weeks ago, and the past two weeks have been non-stop crazy. This week is the calm before the storm and I want to have the chance to capture how i felt and what I experienced during SummerCon. 

In all honesty, I didn’t like the tension I experienced at this year’s SummerCon. I didn’t like the tension I had with DH, because for some reason I just found her to be super annoying throughout the week. And I didn’t like that. The enemy did something to ruin that relationship, and I’m sorry for starting off with this description because this has not been resolved since. 

There were some good that came from the week. Most importantly, I have renewed my faith in Christ Jesus, which was something that was waning down during a year worth of “ministry.” BACKGROUND: for the past year, I had felt God’s presence to be somewhat distant. I started to see Him as someone who was not listening to my prayers, someone that wasn’t truly pursuing me and caring for me and that feeling sucked. What contributed most to it was the fact that community was not much of a help at all as well so yea. Questions such as, “Are you there, God?” “Are you listening?” “Do you even care?” 

And I think for the most part, I was feeling this way because I wasn’t opening up a space for God to work. I just wanted Him to speak, but with me speaking most of the time. This provided space for the enemy to instill some doubts in me, which sux. 

So I am very grateful for the space that SummerCon granted for me to be able to be still in God’s presence and truly making a way for His voice to be loud that I can hear Him, or at least feel the Spirit tell me and affirm me in His love and goodness. 

Tbh, I didn’t fully hear God, but was actually in bitterness when I saw Him work through the various people in my life. One of them was S. and the other was my PP, A. and lastly my sister.

 All this bitterness, I felt when they needed God the most and that I had to sacrifice being prayed for so that I can pray and intercede for them, but little did I realize that that was God’s message for me. For the past year, I’ve learned all these things that we were learning in Prayer Sem, and God had one simple message for me: “Girl, you know these things, now go and do likewise.” 

It’s easy for me to hear and feel good about the messages I hear, it’s another to put it into practice, make some errors or make some successes, and then remediate on anything that was good or not about what I just did to exercise my faith. Like my current weight, I have become spiritually fat and overweight. Francis Chan said something about people who become spiritually obese and how this status have deterred them from actually working out until they’ve become numb and unable to exercise their faith. All they can do is just receive food, and have someone else feed them spiritually. And I did not want to become like that. But this message did not come to me until SummercCon was over so yea. 

Other things that I want to remember would be my hike with my sister, which I thought was really nice. It’s always so nice to hear about her growth and see how God’s working in her because it motivates me... a lot. And I really hope and yearn for more of those moments. 

Another one would be our super duper late night session of worshiping God around the campfire with Timmy, Sabs, Camea, Jas, Alex, Tim, and more Sunsprout peeps, because I thought it was just the most amazing thing ever. The crip air, the warmth of the fire, and songs and the conversations, and sounds of the waves and the sky, it was just so so precious and I’m really glad that that happened. 

Another thing that I would like to remember would be getting affirmed by two brothers that affirmed me out of nowhere. I actually did not expect it from them because I barely talked to them and it was just so surprising to be affirmed by guys because I barely talk to guys. I’m afraid and shy around them because of fear that I might offend them or that I might give them the wrong impression, so I thought it was really sweet to be affirmed by them and I know it was God that moved them to affirm me, because I wasn’t affirmed by many people during affirmation night, which was totally fine, because all the sufficient affirmation was made by Lord Jesus Christ. God knew my needs and met them, as He always have, we just need to remind ourselves continually of that. 

There were many more things that happened, day of solitude, and all that jazz, but these are the things I would like to remember, future Camille.
