Today our new Teams start #gooddogteamtraining and Grooming is on the schedule Day One because it’s so important. Graduate Charlie and her Mom explain why!! #autismservicedog #gooddogautism ・・・ Proper grooming is a very important part of owning a service dog. Especially for Charlie, because she is a lab and we all know labs shed, it is incredibly important that we brush her daily and give her a bath every 7-10 days. We also brush her teeth daily and we dremmel her nails every week! Here she is getting her nails done this morning (photo credit: Brett). She loves a good pampering ❤️ There are always concerns about allergies when it comes to service dogs because in a public area they may come in contact with someone who has terrible dog allergies. This is why grooming is so very important. I can tell you from experience that the daily grooming and weekly bathes can almost completely eliminate allergy reactions because I myself can have terrible allergy reactions to certain dogs and their dander that builds up because of lack of grooming.
