Dogday takes the phone in his free hand, and brings it up to his face, careful not the grip too hard in his desperation. Drew has never seen him so silent, so still, and in the bright light of the screen, he swears he can see tears starting to fall. No one speaks. Drew barely breathes, waiting with twitching hands for an answer. A sob, a shake of the head, a twitch. Nothing.

Finally, the shfff of fabric against stone cracks the tension in the air as Dogday pulls his feet closer to his body. There’s a tremble in his hands as he stares. Tentatively, Drew reaches out and places a hand on Dogday’s knee; an offering, and breathes. Dogday breathes with him.

“He’s alive.”

Stock take:

I needed Gooliope’s carboard box for packaging the Endless Hair barbies. Holding her I realized that i’m not comfortable selling her as “TLC needed, half modded” and also we’re right back at the start of this 1/4th doll messy journey with the one who started it all. Hours upon hours of research and I’ve learned that I love playline and cartoony but not to the point of moe proportions. Hard plastic over vinyl coated. Obitsu, DD aren’t it for me. Hujoo’s nice but I don’t like the heads. Barbie’s attempt was half-assed and uncanny. Tonner and IT didn’t resonate. Highly articulated but stiff mechanical clicks over simple friction or elastic. I’d probably like resin but no-ones doing my preferred simplistic style outside of anthro. Gooliope would be perfect if she hadn’t got that broken S-shaped spine and floppy knees - look at that adorable face. So it’s decided if there are going to 1/4th dolls in my life it’ll be Shibajuku and Rainbow Surprise hybrids. Maybe one of the larger Disney dolls but uuuh meh. As for Goo, I’ve modded her neck and will add more hair (yes some came out) then seal *properly* then curls or a well cut bob because those straggly ends are horrendous then eyelashes and possibly glitter or pale stars under her eyes or a darker eye overpaint then she’s out. Ye Luoli head will be wiped and gifted or listed. I’m unsure about Azul (RS Skye on 17″ wonderwoman) I’d need to reinforce (suede?) her hip joints. She’s huge and hard to work with, it’d be easier to get her on an babs coppertone/lightbrown curvy like her sis even if that means losing posability, I just don’t have the space. Gayle stays, she’s a right mess but I love her. My plan is to one day get a ‘Pixie Rose’ or ‘Dream’ Rainbow Surprise to be a sister/friend to Skye and Azul, another Shibajuku head to scalp and replace the eyes for Gayle but honestly just stay well away from looking at BJD and non 1/6th dolls. Knowing what you don’t want is half the struggle I guess OTL

I did a group photo of all the baldies (minus my personal projects) - of course I missed the myscene madison in my reroot tray LOL. Back row is baity/repaint needed which is not to say that they won’t be the first to get rerooted when I get the creative itch because you’re ok taking more risks on baity heads...or inversly end up in the just pay postage box. Back left is hard heads so headpad required. Having a group photo can help when you have a supply you’re dying to use or want to choose your next project without getting the whole bundle out. Also serves as a really good clear reminder to not get that nice icky looking bundle of monster highs, “we have monster highs at home luv and the nice colourful ones too”. Artemis: What do you first notice about new people? prooobably sense of humour I would say, although it does depend on whether I meet you irl or here, online Centaur: Last book you read? god, imma be honest and say I haven’t read an actual book in so long. probably milk and honey by rupi kaur or house of leaves by mark danielewski?

Nymph: Last dream you remember? i had a super cartoony stylised dream last night about a group of high class criminals stealing from a fashion museum with like a whole bunch of low shots to accentuate how fast the ground was moving under their feet

Agamemnon: What is an achievement you’re proud of? a little achievement? i like baking for my family and hearing them enjoy the treats through the week tbh. but a big achievement is probably leaving uni. 

Jason: Have you ever travelled abroad? Where? good GOD to a stupid amount of places in my gap year, plus family travel. thailand, vanuatu, america, canada, new zealand, italy, england, ireland, scotland, holland, montenegro, greece, switzerland, germany, france, the netherlands, the vatican... i think thats everything?

Sun Chariot: What is your favorite mythological creature? hmm either a phoenix or a kelpie i think

Caduceus: What is your favorite color? used to be blue, but now i think i prefer dark green!! 

Golden Fleece: What is your favorite animal? probably cats i think. all the way from kittens to panthers

Elysium: If you could have a superpower, what would it be? first thing that comes to mind is flying, but telekinesis would be way more useful

The Labyrinth: Have you ever died and came back to life as a vampire? unfortunately i have not but i would love to try out the teef, ngl
