Name: Kursat Erdogan

Age: 35

Gender: Male

Description:  6′4, very muscular build. Most likely in one of these outfits. On the right is more for important events and the left is for more casual outings, the white outfit for travel. Although it is custom for men to cover their hair, as a rebel, Kursat does not. He lived in the ottoman empire his entire life, but still feels a disconnect from the culture. His hair might be haphazardly covered in a scarf, other than that, out. If his hair is pulled back, he is up to something or prepared for a big fight.  

Weapons, if needed: Kursat always has 2 big swords with him for protection of himself and his nobleman. He conceals two knives that were passed down from his grandfather that he shows no one. He does not know what land they were made, which sparked his curiosity in his lineage. 

Personality: Kursat is very skeptical of people, he does not trust people and always felt a disconnect in his life from others. He is very greedy and corrupt and will do many things for the right price. He saw his father struggle when he was young and refused to be that way. He always thought of his father as a sellout and even though he is a soilder, he still does what he can to have his own rules. Kursat can be very playful and not take others seriously. Although he acts dumb in the presence of his nobleman, he is very smart and uses it to his advantage with others. 

Bio

The Erdogan family is a torn one. As a young child Kursat’s father was kidnapped as casualty of war and grew up as a farmer and poor. He gave up everything he knew about his old life and assimilated into the ottoman empire. After Kursat was born, his father tried to pledge his loyalty to the empire and train to become a solider.  It was a rocky start and something Kursat hated to see his father go through. Through humiliation and horrible deeds, he was finally sworn in and Kursat finally lived a decent life. Growing up Kursat would find little trinkets of his father’s old life, but his father would never tell him anything. Leaving that piece of him behind him when he was in captivity. Although what his father did was to survive, Kursat found it to be selling out and weak. He could never fully feel home within the empire, torn at the idea that where he lived was in the presence of his captors. He tried whatever he could to learn about his past and was only found with yelling and dead ends.  With no other choice, Kursat joined the force like his father, but vowed he would still have his freedom, unlike his father. Kursat soon became known as one of the best warriors in the empire and was chose to protect a nobleman of the court while on travels. Obsessed with his freedom and greed, Kursat takes jobs on the side for the right price. He isn’t too fond of his nobleman, but enjoys his notoriety and being able to travel

Bashimur grew up in a big family of 8. While his father worked and he was too young to do so himself, he helped his mother raise his brothers and sisters. Being the oldest of  8 was a daunting task, but Bashimur always took it in pride, always looking for ways to help his family. Cooking with his mother lead to his passion for cooking, growing up , his father always underminded  him for it, but he would not let it go. After the death of his mother at age 13, it was mostly up to Bashimur to cook for the family. Always seen at markets, Bashimur became companions to many people of the court, soon giving tips and tricks to the cooks before him. When he was 17, he was asked to join the royal family’s line of cooks, valued for his skills. He has been with the royal family for over 10 years now and it has given him the opportunity to help aid in taking care of his family, now that his father has passed also. Bashimur continues to watch over his younger siblings, but was sent on a mission by the royal family to explore more recipes and dishes. He hates leaving, but always tries to make the most of it, when he is in a different land.

The Life and Times of Chancellor Evander Lucian Mackenzie

Evander Mackenzie has never been one to play by the rules. He spent a great deal of time at court growing up, as his father felt it would create more advantageous opportunities for him than staying in Seaforth as the second eldest Son. At age 12, Evander was sent to stay at court as a guest of the Royal Family, where he learned much about warfare, but little about responsibility. He took fervently to his training, but spent much of the rest of his time distracted by women. Without his mother’s constant harping about their virtue, Evander was free to pursue whatever conquests he saw fit, and he did, happy to find that girls at court seemed to be much looser than those back home, especially for a boy with power.

 It was also there that he first met Alasdair. The pair became fast friends, stealing off often to get into trouble. Though Evander has always been a lone wolf, caring only about himself, Alasdair became the one person who he swore to protect. They became like brothers, nearly inseparable until, at the age of 19, Evander was forced to marry the daughter of the Laird of Clan McLeod as a condition of the peace brokered between the two clans. Evander did so begrudgingly, and was forced to move from the palace to an estate in Seaforth provided by his parents. However, the marriage was short lived. His wife became pregnant in the early summer, and one night in mid winter, when a particularly vicious storm raged outside, she went into labor far too soon. By morn, the lives of both his child and his wife were in the hands of God, but Evander did not mourn. He had never wanted the woman or the child. He only ever wanted to do as he wished without interference from his father.

Freed from his obligations, Evander went months in a drunken haze, gambling his money away in vices and pleasure, until the King died. When his majesty passed, and his dear friend Alasdair was called back to Scotland from his betrothal in Poland, Evander returned to the palace to support his childhood friend. Though Alasdair’s relationship with his father had been wrought with strife, the series of events still seemed to eat at Evander’s friend, and when he was appointed Naval Leader, Evander accepted his request to be his first mate without hesitation. Out on the open seas, he finally experienced the freedom he so longed for. The women in the ports were even looser than those at court, and there was no expectation of him to behave any kind of way. But as the months went on, and they spent less and less time on land, Evander began to realize how barren and lonely a seafarer’s life could be. And so when he started to recognize less than natural inclinations in his best friend, Evander did not fight them. He teased the truth of desire out of Alasdair as he had with so many women, and found quickly that he liked the aggression and intensity of male flirtation. Over the long months at sea, the two men found each other in new ways. Often times, Evander wondered if his best friend had fallen in love with him. He cared for the other man deeply, to be sure. Alasdair was the only person in the world Evander would give anything up for, and yet he was certain he had never felt love, for his friend or any woman. He simply never became so attached.

Their affair ended suddenly when Alasdair was called back to Scotland and Evander was appointed Navel Leader in his place. For months, Evander traveled the seas alone, surrounded by his men but without any Camaraderie. When the news broke about Alasdair’s illicit affair with his brother’s wife, Evander happened to be on shore leave, enjoying the luxuries of the palace. In truth, the man was proud of his friend’s ability to make a conquest of the Queen, and Evander began to whisper words of dissent in his friend’s ear. Alasdair was a good man, the best man he knew, and he deserved to be King. He deserved to have the woman his brother was too weak to keep, and Evander told him as much. Just before he could push his friend to the boiling point, James had Evander sent away to the seas again. Though it took months to receive the news at sea, it seemed like overnight that Alasdair claimed his brother’s throne. He received the news with pride, goin on to win his next battle with fervor. But still, he longed to return to the luxury of land and shirk the hard work of the sea, and his opportunity came in all too perfect of a package. Evander smirked as he received the scroll closed with Alasdair’s newly minted royal seal, and devoured the news inside. He was to be Chancellor. The idea of such power made Evander’s mouth water, and he could not wait to return to court and taste the sampling of women that would be available to him with his new title. As he steps off the port in Scotland, he is eager to see what new adventures his new King has to offer him. Even though he had encouraged his new King to take Valentina as his own, Evander held a deep mistrust for her. He couldn’t help but believe that if she would betray James, so would she do so unto Alasdair. And as he prepares to take on his new role, he has sworn to look out for his King’s interest against anyone, at any cost.

Lady Estella De Florence was born on February 10th, 1630, but very few know the fully story. She was born out of an affair between King Roberto II of Italy and a married noblewoman. When she was old enough, her father revealed her mother’s identity, but she was never able to have a relationship with her. Because of this, she was raised by the servants at King Roberto’s castle.

Roberto himself was somewhat distant, but it was clear that he showed favoritism towards Estella. He would always take her side and never punishing her enough when she misbehaved. Not to mention, he allowed her to marry anyone she wanted. Because of this, she was always getting herself into trouble because she knew no one would defy her father if he took her side. She also did it because she felt it was the only way to get any attention. Bastard children of kings are often ignored, so she liked that this was her way of getting attention from others, especially her own father.

With all of her ability to roam free, she secretly felt very lost. She didn’t feel like she could trust anyone, and she wasn’t sure if she had a purpose. After all, she was an accident to begin with, so was there a purpose for her in this life? A lot of her drinking and troublemaking had another reason: to make her forget how lost she truly was.
