Ya boy went to Apple Valley, CA last weekend to see this fucking thing rip! Got to meet Akinobu Satsukawa and get his signature. He was the main reason why I went, but I stuck around because it was my first drift event to see. When I drove up to the entrance this guy who wanted my money and signature asked if I was driving in the event... my dude... I drive a Hyundai Elantra. He shrugged and mentioned I could do Time Attack, but my little Elantra is not good enough for such as thing. Anyway, the event was fun for me. A lot of cool cars that I don’t normally see when I’m in the city. A lot of interesting drifting styles and what not. A lot of the people that were there seemed really bored and that kind of sucked. I mean, it looks really scary to drift or be in the car drifting. But it is much faster in person than it is in video some of the time. I do hope to one day see some of my other favorite drivers and maybe go have fun myself.
P.S. if you decide to go an event like this that is outdoors, I advise you wear glasses or sunglasses. Dust, sand, smoke, and burning rubber will get in your eyes.

Club handz was a lot of fun driving with friends. Nothing beats drifting with AC on the whole time. Here’s a few pics of me not spinning out. Still need to improve as a driver and improve on the suspension on the jzx. But all in all, the car was great, powerplant is amazing, and can’t wait to do more driving. 📷: @rflctve #2handz #clubhandz #jzx100 #markii (at Grange Motor Circuit) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp7UqaHHygF/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1b0r3wt6jhobm

Super D Matsuri: April 2018
Among the endless sea of sand and tumbleweeds in the eastern California desert lies a seemingly insignificant strip of tarmac. Through the barren lands opposite of the dirt covered mountains, we drive into treacherous unpaved territory to take part in the carnage that will forever be remembered as Super D Matsuri.
Alas the Faction family finally reunites to make it to Super D Matsuri at Grange Motor Circuit in Apple Valley, California. Despite the 5 day cross country road trip from NJ (though some of us took the easy route and flew in), the team was anxious to get to the track and start driving.
We arrived early Saturday where it was apparent that drifting (and destruction) had been taking place throughout the night. Make no light of the situation, Grange Motor Circuit is an elite course - the tightly wound track easily deceived drivers, even sending a few flying into the surrounding cinder block walls.
The chaos ensued and those narrow strips of tarmac would soon be forever stained by the tires of Japan’s most reckless drivers and the hopeful souls of U.S. drivers trying to follow suit.
Enter: TEAM BURST!
Hailing straight from the motherland, renown OG drivers Naoki Nakamura, Miki Takagi, and Mitsuyoshi Nishio grace us with their clutch kick power and teach us a thing or two about style.
We weren’t far off though.
Toughing out the Californian desert heat to represent the North East with us were our Staten Island comrades in Front Street Drift Club
along with former FD driver Geoff Stoneback & current FD driver Chelsea Denofa.
Aside form drifting, we were pretty busy at the Faction booth all weekend. We set up our booth by our friends in KoyoRad and Origin Lab, and were having a killer time meeting people from all over the country.
We definitely need to shout out all the drift teams/drivers and fans who braved the rugged roads to support the growing grassroots movement! Seeing throngs of people huddled at our booth either wearing or buying Faction gear was truly amazing. We sincerely appreciate all the love we were shown! <3 <br>
As the sun set and the cold started to settle over the desert, we decided to close up shop to take part in the night time festivities...aka NIGHT DRIFTING! Right when we thought drifting this technical track couldn’t get any more exciting, we stood corrected!
Unfortunately, our nighttime track run was cut short due to some technical difficulties [[insert trans breaking info here]] In addition, Team Burst sent their car through the wall which closed the track while 20+ people dug/pushed the car out with their bare hands.
Overall the weekend was beyond amazing. Experiencing the technical skill and rawness these Japanese drivers displayed was incredible, nonetheless, driving with old and new friends from all over the U.S.
Not many people get to to say they traveled over 2,500 miles with their best friends to drift with Japan’s finest....or go off roading in a mini van, get caught in a sandstorm, almost set their Airbnb on fire, climb a desert mountain, or get face tattoos (don’t ask). But we were lucky enough to say we did all that and then some.
Scattered body kits, smashed radiators, snapped brake lines, and broken transmissions were a small price to pay to have experienced Super D Matsuri with our family.
