I also appear to have painted “Chad”, ‎تشاد , from every American High School movie plot. 😅This was a random model from a magazine (in hindsight his face wasn’t that interesting to paint) and a purposeful #MarleneDumas inspired painting technique...Fierce eyes and hair, colourful, flat planes of oil paint - soaked like #HelenFrankenthaler - esque. I realised the model also looks a little like #JFK. Now my mind is thinking of #DeKooning and #expressionism. That’s the thing with #painting, to my mind, it’s less about rules and more about principles - it’s all just blocks of colour until you create something. Paint first, ask questions later.
