Epic mail call part 2 was the arrival of my sketchbooks!!!! Yeah I took too many pics but so what I was excited. The books arrived safely and now I'm starting fullfilment! An update has gone out to the Kickstarter backers and now I'm just waiting for the surveys to start rolling in and I can get these puppies rolling out! Fingers crossed my 1st Kickstarter keeps going as well as it had been going. 🤞 Huge thanks to @tressabowling for recommending Comix Well Spring through Greko Printing in Michigan, I am super happy with how my books turned out and the turn around speed was Amazing! Heya, where did you go to get the first volume of Abominathan printed anyhow??

I was actually lucky enough to have a print shop that specializes in comics close to where I live! They’re called Grekoprinting Comixwellspring, and their service is impeccable– Very Much recommended! Plus minimum order is around 25, so you’re not forced to buy more than needed

You can buy your order online and have your comics shipped to you, and their layout/instructions are super simple to navigate. So if anyone is interested in having their comic printed, they do a really nice job!

Hi I'm currently making my own graphic novel and I was just curious about how you go about printing copies of your books and where you get that done??

Congrats on the graphic novel!

Printing can get a little daunting depending on where you go and how much you need. The easy part is setting it up in a pdf, making sure that everything is the same size and that your page size includes bleed (very important!).

Our personal experience has been pretty much limited to ordering VERY small runs on very small comics and the Creature Feature Kickstarter. Most of the places we’re familiar with will also do NSFW printing, for obvious reasons.

For printers that will print SFW and NSFW, you have Keness (haven’t worked with but have heard EXCELLENT things about), KrakenPrint (have heard good things, but from personal experience their communication was pretty terrible), and Marquis (the printer we went with for the Kickstarter, very prompt and quick to get us our books, too). SFW printers include PrintNinja (ton of options), GrekoPrinting (got books from them fast and quality) and Kablam (only has a few size options available).

All the printers mentioned have minimum orders (some very high). Of them, Greko and Kablam have the smallest. 

Obviously, this is a very short list. I would recommend shopping around to make sure the place you pick offers the right option for your novel!

I just reordered my Generation Gap books #1 from @comixwellspring and not only do they do a great job with the printing, packing and quality control (there’s a sticker with initials of who handled the packaging) but they include a memo pad thanking you for your order. I was surprised that this time the person thanked me for drawing Kamen Rider which referred to a gag on one page of my book ^_^ (Will be mailing out preorders of Calabash soon!
